@shnarklevonbarkle1102 жыл бұрын
The Genesis coupe styling is what the Nissan Z should have evolved into. I can drive from Florida to California in two 18 hour days with no discomfort whatsoever. For a sports car, it is THE most comfortable car I've ever driven. Sports cars that look that good are rarely that comfortable. I bought a 2010 3.8, and just assumed that since it was the first year, it would probably have lots of bugs that would need to be worked out and fixed. On only the rarest occasions do I get locked out of second gear, and my personal opinion is that it is due to driver error. I drive this car a lot so I am noticing that the upholstery on the driver's seat is a little worse for wear. Seat covers help, but it's clearly not the toughest material. The plastic on the dash, doors, etc. is also kinda cheap looking. When it came time to get some new tires, I found some company out around Los Angeles which sold me four tires mounted on new TSW rims for not much more than a new set of tires at the local tire shop. They arrived balanced and full of nitrogen, and really look fantastic. I didn't like all the badges and logos on the car, so I removed them. I kept the wings on the back but replaced the grill with just some scrap piece of expanded lathe which I painted black. The only other modification was to add an x pipe ($25.00), a pair of loudmouth resonators cut from a wrecked Mustang at the local pick and pull ($30.00), and a muffler delete. It sounds awesome, but in hindsight, I think a better way to go is to just to a simple muffler delete using the original tips which still sounds fantastic for little to no money invested. I see people spending thousands for these fancy exhaust systems, and frankly they sound horrible. Hyundai makes cars that are practically indestructible. This is my third Hyundai, and I plan on keeping it for the rest of my life. It wouldn't surprise me to put half a million miles on this before anything serious needs to be done to it. These cars are incredibly durable, but they weigh too much. I'd really like to figure out how to remove all of the air bags. The entire air bag system, and then figure out what else can be removed to lighten the load, and hopefully get better fuel economy.

@misterlarry582111 ай бұрын
@@JustABlackTacoma All I have ever really done is oil changes & air filters. Now about the time that I put the previous post up, I had bought a CBD2 scanner and my 1st time riding into work, my check engine light came on. I replaced the oxygen sensors myself, but realized that the place where I had done my last oil change had considerably over-filled the engine (always check). This caused a blown head cover gasket which I had a mechanic replace, along with plugs & boots. It's running fine since then.
@scottc742 жыл бұрын
Back in 2011 I looked at just about every vehicle offered by every Manufacturer. Decided on a 3.8 Track model, 370Z knock-off for 10k less. As everyone says, they are fun, not to mention the handling of the track model felt like I was back in my Italian shifter kart. Now the bad, I hope they have all had the Factory recall performed on the timing chain tensioners, I don't know what kind of pot metal they were made of, but for metal teeth that just hold chain tension until oil pressure comes up they rounded off like they were made of plastic. This story, if you're still with me is because Hyundai would not replace the known factory defective part because I did not get my oil changed at the dealer, reciepts in hand from my oil changes, not that that has anything to do with a known factory defective part. They suggested I take it to court. I found out later that the mechanics don't like to do the job because they loose time/money because of how they are payed for it. It's a total front engine teardown, so beware.

The car came with bumper to bumper warranty, and using it was an entirely other stressful situation. Between 30 grand of warranty work over the 4 years of owning this, which did not even touch the engine,trans or turbo. Its ridiculous. The car itself, horrible quality, everything rattles, leaks and eventually will break. The shifter and clutch is by the worst i have ever felt, and these things are not fast. Even built, they arent fast. They SUCK! My 20 year old z06 still brings smiles per gallon and only sees a shop every couple years.
