I got a weight train set for home. Did I do weights everyday? NO! (It's gone!) I got a running machine. Do I run on it everyday? NO WAY!! ( But my wife does so that's a big win!) I put a pool in the backyard. Do I swim in it everyday? NO! (I can only swim in it in the Summer months but still happy I got it!) I got a golf simulator. Do I play golf on it everyday? YES!!! (It's not painful or boring at all, and you can take as many or few swings as you like) The golf simulator is really the first thing I invested in that I actually look forward to using all the time. That's why golf is a sport for all ages. I have totally got my money back from what I would have spent going to the driving range. I think playing golf at a course once a week and practicing on a decent simulator almost everyday will get the average person down to an about a 13-15 handicap in under 18 months. If you play on real course a bit more than that and still practice on the simulator then a single digit handicap is absolutely possible! Not for everyone maybe but definitely for a lot of people.

Hey John, Do you love the golf mat you are using? We are putting together our simulator in our garage and the last thing we need is the mat. The one recommended here is no longer available. :(

I was not fussy about the turf I stand on because it's more about the comfort from the padding under the turf and gym mats are just fine for that. I therefore went with mat inserts because its so much cheaper than buying a big mat and you only need the size of the insert to hit off and its going to wear out eventually anyway so being able to replace it easily and cheaply is key for me. I am in Japan so use a Japanese brand of insert but from the research I did I would probably get a Sigpro Softy insert. I have only heard good things about it.

I cannot love this comment more!! Absolutely spot on with every thing! I try to use my simulator daily but can be difficult with a full time job and two young kids! But it has been one of my best investments to date! Have fun with it John!

Well looks like I’m getting a golf simulator. I have a home gym setup and this will complete all hobbies at home. Lol

Hey Paige thanks for letting me know! I have emailed them to find out why they are not in stock! In the meantime Spornia has some mats available. Another good mat is the country club elite, but I have heard it can be very rough. Fiberbilt is another great mat but they can be kind of expensive!
