A trainer is the best investment into yourself, the issue is people don’t prioritize their wellbeing. I started with a trainer 8 months ago and the difference is amazing, you need to be honest with them and yourself and you will see results

I am 42years old started lifting 2 months ago. Immediately got myself a trainer/coach for months upon signing up. Expensive as hell but I figured he will help and teach me proper lifting techniques. As an older man only beginning my fitness journey, injury prevention is my number one priority. I figured that the price of a pro trainer guiding me will be cheaper in the long run than paying hospital bills and therapy

I discovered Mind Pump about a month ago and I have been listening to you guys pretty much non-stop. Lol. Thank you! It has been priceless. I am a 51 year old women and pretty much have always been fit. But due to a cancer diagnosis 6 years ago ( breast cancer survivor here😃) it has been hard to get back on track. You all have motivated me beyond words. I'm on month 2 back @ the gym and I'm feeling stronger & more confident. And it was perfect timing finding you all, I'm getting married in July! Again, Thank you all. 🙏

Dudes. I have a friend who hasn't been very active for a good numbers of years. She wanted to get back in and start slow and asked me to help. It dawned on me to get her starting with your phase 1 anabolic trigger sessions to get the ball rolling! Totally working. She is ABA BABing the trigger days from P1 anabolic and the ball is rollin' man. The value of those trigger sessions goes far beyond the off day muscle building signals! Stay awesome boys. Thanks for all your help.

What I experience the most and see the most in working with Clients is that people hold promises with more accountability to other people than they hold promises to themselves. This has become more obvious as I’ve started my family and have more accountability dedicated to them. I often forget how they ALSO need me on my A game (recipe- self care) as much as they need me to fulfill my motherly role. So it’s tough to define that in the moment when it’s workout time when I feel I haven’t spent enough time with my family. Still finding a balance in the daily time share struggle but awareness helps me Coach myself and Coach others to find paths through these challenges and place a higher value on our own self care! I would love to have a trainer with but am trying to stay virtual to help balance these priorities for this stage in my life.

Hey guys, I have been listening to you guys while working out for the past 4 months or so. I'm 50 years old and was quite fit in my 20's and early 30's but I fell out of the fitness lifestyle after we had our 3 kids and I started my own business. After 15 years off, I am trying to get back into shape. I started with some fasting for weightloss, which was probably not the right thing but it did really help me change the way I think about food and hunger. I'm 5'8" and I started at 280 lbs at the end of August. I am now at 242 lbs with a lot more muscle. I do not currently use any of your programs but you never know for the future. Thank you for the guidance. I wish I had known what I know now in my 20's. I would have been jacked! Hope you are all doing well. Joe

Even though I've got a lot of experience, I hired the top trainer at our gym and because he knew that I was experienced he didn't come round the gym with me once over 4 months. He did everything online and consequently left to do everything online. I want a trainer that comes round the gym with me and pushes me to do better and set good workouts. I didn't even get any nutrional advice, which is a huge part of wanting a trainer. I'm not sure these trainers going online is going to influence people to go to the gym, especially new people. They're intimidated and want support. I'm not sure what the way forward will be. Thanks for great content guys, I love it.

Last night we went with a big group for pizza. I knew this was the plan all day. So I told my self early in the day I can have 2 slices and like 10 min before we go Iam going to get a protein shake in. This worked well. Latter that night some one brought us cake 😮. I just had a decaf black and watched everyone else not fun, but doable. I got like 40 lbs to loose.

I wish I could make room for a personal trainer, but it's not happening with my life schedule as a busy dad who works 60+ hours per week. Workouts happen before bed, which isn't optimal but beats the alternative. Thanks to the internet, I'll "have to live with" Jeff Cavalier as "my trainer." The external motivation a trainer provides, along with guidance, is something I miss out on, knowingly so.

YES! But, do question the trainers credentials. I know, I’ll be that person. You don’t need the certification if you know what you are “doing.” But, what works for your trainer may not be ideal for you. They may have gotten amazing results but it may not be ideal for you. As a certified personal trainer, I do my best to keep up with continuing education because of all the issues with dealing with clients and in order to help them, We must (as a community) keep up with educating ourselves. Love your podcast and tell it like it is 💪🏻😎

The personal trainers that I have seen always seem to have clients that are overweight and you will see them working out all the time for months on end but no visible results so for me it was a turn off but now I do acknowledge that health is complex and that it's not always the visible results but how one feels in general from their sleep, self esteem, how their life change from just working out. Thank you .

I've paid for individual sessions to learn training methods. I have the ability to push myself rather hard during my sessions, and I prefer to train by myself. However, with a trainer, it gives me the ability to add in some intensifiers (i.e. forced reps, drop sets, etc.) that I can't do efficiently on my own.

I’m strict during the week staying under 2500 calories and exercising 7 days a week…. But damn, when the weekend roles around it’s not uncommon for me to eat 7000 calories on a Saturday and another 4000-7000 on a Sunday. I’m in pretty good shape now but really wanna get down to that 9-11% body fat. Currently at 14% Really like what you said about just focus on “win the weekend”

To avoid not getting help with nutrition in the future, ask if they have a CPT and Nutrition Certification. Depending on what state you're in, if the trainer doesn't have the latter, they can't talk much about nutrition. He might have also just been a bad trainer.

Protein - I always hear you guys talk about how satiating protein is and that when you would get clients to focus on eating enough protein they would always complain that there are so full. Well I must be an anomaly because I always eat way more protein then the 1g per body weight and I’m still hungry . I literally have to cut myself off of protein for example I’m 5’4” female 118lbs and on average I eat between 160 and 200g per day(calories are between 2100 and 2200per day) BUT I could and would love to eat more protein. Yes I eat fats and carbs too but I just crave protein. I’ve heard you talk about those who crave sugar or salt well I crave protein. I just don’t get full on it. I eat all kinds of protein lean and fatty and fatty is my favourite. I eat a bigger ribeye steak than husband who is 6’2”. Is there something wrong with me?
