Great video. I started my KZbin journey this year and I went in with the mindset not to worry about views and just focus on a channel that I would be happy with and would watch

While I have had this KZbin account for 15 years, I just started taking my channel seriously this past year also. I believe in you. The struggle certainly is real for us small channels; however, we must keep going and pursue or goals. Best of luck to you.

Some of my crappiest looking videos have the highest views. That convinced me that we put too much into the visuals. But you definitely need a good microphone. 😊❤

Interesting insights! I started recently and I have received a few compliments about the quality in terms of good lighting and audio, however I struggle with getting views and subscribers. (There is still room for improvement when it comes to editing but I do the best I can, as someone new to KZbin.) I believe that I am providing value though. I haven't figured out what I might be doing wrong, but I will try to keep improving and hopefully the views and subscribers will come in the future.

QUESTION: Do you believe in starting multiple channels even if you don't have an audience? (ie. one channel for performing music, another channel for talking head type content) Others say "you are the niche", but I would like to find a targeted audience for all my interests

I have 100k on my main channel and I just started a second channel. Any idea how long it takes the algorithm to pick up? It's been a couple weeks and I'm feeling discouraged. Even with proper editing and thumbnails I'm not getting any views. I figured once I knew what I was doing, success would be easier to replicate on a second channel!

I really got drawn to your opinion on virality not being what will grow your channel by itself. Thats the truth! I had another channel that got two more viral videos and while it helped, it wasn't an overnight success. It took time to build and grow the audience. I appreciate the time you put into this!

It's funny you mention doing repairs on your old truck and watching a tutorial on it, I have a seperate channel dedicated to "How To" and "Tutorials" all things apps, laptops, tech, etc. and honestly it's probably the best and safest niche to get into, there's no politics, no religion, no swearing, just pure "Hey, here's how you do this" It's the most evergreen content too, a video from 5 years ago generated over €20,000 and still makes a few € per week, best niche hands down! A lot of people are constantly posting and you're right, their videos do suck haha doing KZbin and attaching your face to it is VERY hard to become successful with, but best of luck to anyone who gives it their all!

I'm curious why you don't use the video description for keywords, and you don't use playlists. Thanks for the great content.

True on the uploading sacrifice. There is a balance between finding an audience, and then focusing on creating videos for them. When you first start, you will likely have neither and will only gain that experience and knowledge with each video and their analytics.

I find your videos interesting and am looking forward to seeing this channel grow and being able to follow along as it does so. And I do appreciate the transparency, hearing that it´s not all butterflies and rainbows because of course it isn´t, it´s a grind and a lot of work. I´ve had a YT channel for many years, just posting this and that because I like the process of making videos. And as I grow older the thought of leaving some sort of legacy behind for my family and relatives has made me finally take the plunge and make some walk-and-talk videos. I do find it quite difficult to communicate with a camera but I´m happy to have made a start at least. And even if my purpose is just to make videos as a hobby and some sort of legacy I can´t deny that getting a few likes and views is satisfying. I can only imagine how it would be once you start making a real go of it and even getting money from it. Probably very easy to get lost in the views and the growth or lack thereof. Thanks for sharing.

I wanted my main channel to evolve into somewhat of a video diary but then I turned it into a job. I'll still upload the occasional video for myself but I'm realizing that if I want to keep this as a means to make money I have to focus on chasing views. I wish it wasn't like that but that's how it is. Just try to find a balance with your content and make what you enjoy, chasing the views gets tiresome after a while...

I've had a couple of video on my channel recently start to "take off" some what. I'd love to hear your take on different ways a channel can capitalize when a video starts to build some steam. I'm also seeing a little up tic in subs since getting more views which is cool. thanks, D.
@DorianCreates2 ай бұрын
Quickly looking at your channel I see that you have a recent video "Vintage Junk Boat To Brand New (ODay Mariner #11)" that's doing really well compared to other videos. Go back and rewatch that video to see what's different from your other videos. Try to make something similar to it. Maybe make a follow up going into more detail on things you want to make sure are covered. Seems like the upload before that one also has a decent amount of views. Might be because of the one that took off but I notice a similar thumbnail style between them. Maybe something about ODay boats (idk anything about this topic) could be what's driving people to this. You might have an underserved topic/niche. Dig into your analytics to try and learn more. That's the best I can do without watching the video, knowing the niche or seeing the analytics. Hope it helps!

I’m trying to improve something with each new video or at least try something new. It also feels a bit sad when you don’t get the same success with a video after one of them performed a bit better than others 😄 But it’s fine, I’ll figure it out.

Thank God someone is sayin' it. So many people are caught up in this, "i CaN Be a yOuTuBeR! DiD yOu HeAr!? yOuTuBe iS oN eAsYmOdE?" and making these pointless, low-quality videos. God bless anyone who wants to start a KZbin Channel, but for the love of Space Jebus, Put some friggin prep and thought into what you want to make videos/your channel about before just plopping down in the front seat of your car with your iPhone and hitting fart-thoughting freely into the KZbinverse! 🤦

Thank you for the video! I've been doing KZbin for about a year now. I am definitely the small fish in a big pond. *streamer/gamer/entertainer* My son and I started streaming together and I create content based on our streams and mine. I absolutely agree with doing those small things with each upload. I always refer to the Compound Effect by Darren Hardy. Trying new editing styles and views had dipped alot. But value is key so I need to review what I'm posting so it brings that value. Or make sure what I upload I have to ask myself would others like this? Then upload. Not giving up but that was a thought this week. Have to remember why you started and for me that's my son. Always tell him we never give up. Gotta lead by example.
