No contact is the only way…cut them off, change numbers, don’t let them hoover you. The only thing that was initially difficult was that the entire relationship was a lie. You are normal and have feelings, they are incapable of love, honesty or empathy. Once you truly understand that, it gets easier. 16 months into no contact, I feel nothing for him and I’m talking 37 years and 3 kids.

I'm glad you finally escaped the clutches of a narcissist they have no idea what love or even mutual understanding is and they get much worse as they age with dementia likely on the horizon for them. Something has to eventually happen in that dysfunctional brain of theirs.

Emotionally detaching from a narcissist is not an easy thing to do but so necessary. It's not an overnight job that's for sure.

Absolutely true. It is never about common goals, conflict resolution, taking into account both partners feelings, healthy interdependence, etc. It is all about their ego. It is them, them, them. They always have someone else to blame.

Do you know why? It is interesting to know.. The have a false self and that self is a priority to them. (They are God-like). If they do something wrong it has to be the other ones fault (they deserve it...). They have magical and delusional thinking.

Yes spot on video one truth bomb after another. Keep as quiet as you can around a sarcastic covert narcissist in particular as whatever you say to them can and will be used against you at some opportune moment. Don't tell them any secrets either unless you want the whole world to know about it.
