I agree with the unethical/academically dishonest part of exam dumps, but they can be useful if you read the discussions and do your own research to actually figure out the right answer. You are definitely correct in saying that some of the answers are just flat out wrong.

This was absolutely excellent! I'm preparing for core 1 a+ now. I agree that messer and dion are very good. I have the Meyer book but he goes into too much detail for me. I really appreciate you doing these videos.

Agree, Meyer's book is in too much detail and sometimes gets off topic. But good for general IT reading.

I have access to over 750+ practice exam questions for both cores in the CompTIA A+. I went through about 250 questions and I’m exhausted. And you’re right. I learn a lot from just one question.

Whatever cert it is it’s basic level knowledge on that particular subject. The real learning comes from on the job and years of trial and error. If a person has spent months studying and it’s their 3rd and 4th time taking a cert I think it would be beneficial to use a brain dump to help passing the cert. At times exams will throw in questions that were not covered on exam objectives or dated information. At the end of the day it’s business and exam companies make their money by people paying for exams vouchers and training.

Totally agree that it’s a business and certs are a big cash cow for many companies. However, do you think that the person who failed the exam 3-4 times should actually look into what areas he/she have gaps in? I guess dumps is only a surface-level solution in this case. It’s true that they sometimes throw weird questions at you. I remember that at 1-2 of my comptia exams, my mood went down immediately once I saw a question that wasn’t from objectives. It wasn’t until my 3rd or 4th exam that I realised two things: 1. Not all questions of the exam are graded. Some are included just for evaluation purposes (evaluation of questions not candidates) 2. If you read weird comptia questions a few times without getting emotional about how stupid the question is, in 90% of cases you can figure out the answer.
@gusbarnesiii8210

@@jamaabouttech yes, that is true. some questions that are not graded may be on your exam and throw you through a loop in regards to CompTia. Comptia is for the most part straight forward. As for vendor specific they do make you earn it. Reviewing topics that a person is weak in is the best option. Some vendor specific certs (cisco) do not give you the ability to go back and revisit questions after they have been answered. So having a holistic view (brain dump) of the the exam with through research can aide a person in further understanding and passing an exam. Pros and Cons to brain dumps depending on how they are used.

Mmm, I would say exam dumps are an excellent resource. Not to memorize the questions, or even use the answers that people have put. They give you a really good idea of how questions will be worded. If you can't answer the question yourself then you are lacking knowledge. Even using an exam dump for a different exam by the same provider you can get a feel for their preferred wording and it will help a lot

Definitely agree. Passed 1001 on my first try and I noticed that CompTIA has a weird way of phrasing questions.

For someone who disparages brain dumps you know a lot about them! Suspicious... To me the problem seems to me to be that many candidates make use of these materials as a preparation for the exam, and that in turn leads exam providers to compose more complex exams. This means that people who do not reference these questions don't stand a chance. I strongly reject the idea that consultation of whatever source material is fraudulent. I think it should be every individual's right to prepare in the best way possible. It's up to the party who tests someone to deliver a test that faithfully reflects the competence of the candidate. What these exam providers do by laying the blame on candidates is shifting the responsibility. Perhaps they should get rid of these pre-fabricated tests and just have a professional conversation (i.e. an oral exam) between tester and candidate. I know I'm going against of the grain of the time we live in by saying this. However, in my view actual fraud would only be constituted when someone stole the exam questions beforehand, or did not give their own answers during the exam.
