I checked EVERY yes box!! Thank you SO much for this video. When i was i kid i always said i was going to illustrate children's books. I was obsessed! Then as I grew up, i let everybody else's needs come first. Well, you know what? Im turning 60 in a few weeks and Im going to write and illustrate my first book AND pitch it to publishers while i write my next one and the one after that! 😊 BY THE WAY... I actually DO believe you when you say you remember being 18 months old... because so do I, so does my daughter and her father! My proof is that, at that age, we lived in a town for about 6 months. I had NOT been to that town nor seen photos of it in 50 year but i had clear memories of it! I drove my mom from our old house to our church, two playgrounds ( that I used to have recurring dreams about) one still had the rocket slide that i remembered, even my babysitters house! So yeah. I BELIEVE you! (Hey people, don't be so jealous 😅 ok?)❤

I laughed when you said, "If you can't go into a bookstore without buying a picture book..." That is absolutely me! I read children's books all of the time, and I do hope to write some myself. Thanks for the encouragement!

Oh man, I FEEL that comment! I'm a retired nanny and one of the things I miss most is reading books to my kidlets. So this month I started going to a nearby book store because they have a great book section.👌 😘 ❤

I've had some ideas for children's picture books and have written out at least two of them so far, but our library no longer allows adults in the children's section unless you (adult) are accompanied by a child or two. Don't currently have any little ones in my life (I'm almost retired.) so have to do my research in the bookstore. Not so bad, but more expensive. Anyway, will check out your website and courses. :)

You don’t need to go into the children’s section and lurk there - go to the library and speak to the librarian - and tell them you are an aspiring children’s author and would like to check out five / ten of their best picture books from the shelves for research . The librarian will go and get them for you - that’s what they’re for and no librarian worth their salt will object . Rinse and repeat for free research purposes.
