In case you were serious on not knowing exactly what ravens excitement meter does here is a little summary: Having more ticks of excitement (the maximum being 10) gives you more damage and changes some frame data and properties of special moves. An example is that normally his command grab cant be comboed out of but if he has enough excitement he can combo off it. It also makes his scratch faster, adds more hits to his orb, and makes his 214214H super do more hits. The specifics of the move change depending on how much excitement you have (between 4 different levels). His scratch, command grab, stance, and 632146S super are all the moves that give him excitement. Gameplay wise raven is one of the more simple characters, but I find him really fun and interesting :P btw, nice video!

There's no part of guilty gear that's not outstanding. The art is amazing, the way they did 3d is revolutionary, the characters are so unique in personality, design and moves (no two characters have the same or similar moves like street fighter), the games are full of decisions, because theres a counter to everything and a counter to that and so on and so forth. Each character also has their own gimmick, whether it is a stance, meter, or level up bar, or double jumps, or whatever, which gives an infinite amount of playstyles. Lots of youtube videos referenced. Beautiful game. I hope I can get strive on my switch this year, it will be my first fighting game besides smash.

Guns: Joker's neutral special Swords: every Fire Emblem character The Power of Music: Jigglypuff's sing Medical Supplies: Doctor Mario's pills Balls: Wii Fit Trainer Magical Hair: Bayonetta Smooth Brain: potentially everyone Obviously, Smash has way more characters, so Smash having a lot of different weapons is more the result of that, not so much an indication of variety between characters, I just thought it was a neat tidbit.

1:47 "Whereas a game like BlazBlue Central Fiction has so many characters and so many different unique matchups that it's really hard to wrap your head around" And that uniqueness is exactly why I love it. Not only that, but BlazBlue Central Fiction is a game that's just as complex as Guilty Gear XRD Revelator, with the game like Revelator having legacy skill, meaning if you haven't stuck with the game since the original back in 2008 you have a MASSIVE hill to climb in learning frame data for each character's normals, gatlings, and overall mobility options that can be used on offense and neutral. Then there are the game's plentiful system mechanics, such as having a half a dozen options on defense that you need to master such as having four ways to block based on specific scenarios for example, and the game having a multitude of wake up options with each having a specific use, and that's not even going into the Drive mechanic, which is a unique action for each character, which there are OVER 35 of, which MOST of the cast plays VASTLY DIFFERENT from each other. All of this is wrapped up by a solid tutorial that not only goes over the mechanics of the game, but give you a general idea of how each character functions as well. Mainline BlazBlue games were HUGE in japan, with it being popular in many Japanese arcades, and as popular Guilty Gear content creator Obama stated in a podcast with Blasted Salami that the series had at one point been up there even with the almighty Tekken in terms of popularity. With many veterans like Dogura ( who is one of the best players in Guilty Gear who uses Slayer) and Fenrich ( who is arguably the best BB player, and currently one the best in DBFZ) representing the series for a long time . Sadly, The series just never took off over here in the west. However, the lack of popularity nationwide doesn't equate to the game's quality.The fact that is arguably the most unique AND complex 2D fighter on the market, but isn't talked about hardly at all in the west was always baffling to me. Especially when I read comments, and watch videos of people in the FGC complaining about how boring fighting games have gotten recently, or how easy it has become and yet will refuse to give the game a try. Thankfully, that seems to be changing, for instance Lord Knight, a tournament player who plays a variety of different fighting games recently made a fighting game tier list and put BBCF near the top, as well as popular Guilty Gear content creators like Obama saying on a podcast that BBCF is arguably just as hard as GG. For those who want to see high level game play in order to get a grasp of how hype this game can potentially be for you, I'd recommend a video titled "BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma Grand Finals - Evo 2014" on youtube, and while the game represented there is not Central Fiction, I think it works, since Central Fiction is more of an evolution of Chrono Phantasma any way. Other channel's include "Burst Recap" and "Jourdal" for more high level Japanese play. Finally, BB TAG and mainline BlazBlue games are two SEPARATE things all together, with BBTAG having it's own set of rules with the system mechanics, and SIMPLIFYING ALL of the characters. It's for these reasons that you can't approach "BlazBlue Central Fiction" in the same way that you would BBTAG.
@RageOfLeoEX4 жыл бұрын
you can fix the legacy issue by playing a character that is brand new to the series. (or got into the mainline roster, finally) most of my friends who play blazblue love the new characters. but sadly, they play elphelt. and thanks to +r having ggpo on steam, i actually caught up with some old heads in my state, so now is definitely a good time to learn a legacy game.

This is cool. I think BB is a pretty cool series in general, but I just never really got into like I did with GG. Although it doesn’t help that the only BB game I’ve played is TAG, which is very different from the rest of the series, and isn’t really my thing. Also, on a more personal note, I tend to really like Guilty Gear’s overall hard-rock aesthetic and characters, and I think a lot of the BB cast and it’s general aesthetic is a bit less unique and more typical of an anime fighter. That’s just my opinion though, and I do think that the character designs and aesthetic are a lot cooler and more unique than most other anime fighters (I’m specifically thinking of Melty Blood and it’s plethora of uninteresting waifus. No shade, cool game, but like a quarter of the cast is maid waifus and I really cannot tell what most the characters even do. I thought that Michael character was gonna be like a werewolf-type fighter , but he just shoot lighting and shit I guess? Idk).

@@Masque1419 "Also, on a more personal note, I tend to really like Guilty Gear’s overall hard-rock aesthetic and characters, and I think a lot of the BB cast and it’s general aesthetic is a bit less unique and more typical of an anime fighter. That’s just my opinion though" I agree that the one thing GG has over BB is more unique character designs, but just because a design is unique doesn't automatically make it good, at least in my opinion. For instance, Bedman is a unique character design not seen in any fighting game prior, but at the end of the day it's just a slim dude in a bed, which to me is kind of lame. In the end, what you consider to be good character design all boils down to personal preference, so there really is no right or wrong here. It was cool to hear your personal story though.

I had my daughter just before this game came out and completely missed it. I only picked up Rev 2 last week on sale and in 7 days I have put in 40 hours. This game feels great to play and all the characters are unique and fun/challenging to play against. The game looks great and there is a lot of ways to play the game. I don't plan on not playing Rev 2 for the near future.

I adore this game. I adore most fighting games and cant play any of them (3d arena free movement fighters like Ultimate Ninja Storm are the exception) have two left hands trying to play fighting games so i binge videos of people who can and who appreciate these games in a self destructive self perpetuating attempt to fill the void that only grows as i watch others talk about them. So anyways great work, Jack-o bae, but as a bisexual most Arcsys characters are borderline lethal to me.

How I feel about Rev 2 I love GG xrd Rev 2 when I play on my own. The feeling of learning how to play all these cool anime character is fun. (btw I am a Dizzy main [plz be in Strive] cmon arc sys plz) But my criticisms with Rev 2 are with its online, now I play on PS4 on a wired network, but no one plays on console and the few matches I can get are in Japan with pings up the hundreds. Maybe the Steam version has more players in the states but the shit online makes me hate playing. I like Accent core +R more for these reasons, but I got introduced to this series with Xrd Rev 2 and I still like it, but hate the online. I REALLY HOPE Strive is popular and plays great. Thank you for reading my short essay on my feelings about the GG franchise. I really liked this video.
