Before I was gasping for air just after 50m . I am yet to master your technique, but today i was able to swim 1km just after following your training videos for 2 months. I think hip rotation , less kicking and smooth hand entry are the key factors.. Thank you.

This is really helpful. I broke my humerus two months ago and looking at more rotation when I’m cleared to swim in a few months.

In my opinion ,The important thing is to initiate rotation starting from the leg then hip ,shoulder and lastly the head..

@@adamwalker32 thank you very much. I already subscribed, bought your book and start putting into practice your teachings. Definitely much to learn and loads of changes. I am slower on my 5 k swims but the amount of strokes reduced massively due to the glide. Hopefully I will be able to do Peniche to Berlengas if there aren't any killer whales!

I could never understand what was meant by 'swimming downhill'. Watching this and listening to your commentary, it suddenly dawned on me. It seems the 40 / 45 degree leading arm moving through the water acts something like a submarine bow plane and has a see-saw action to keep the chest lower and lift the hips. Thanks again.

Yes exactly 👍

Another problem or potential problem with flat hips is lower back problems. This is the way I used to swim. My lower back and chest twisted when stoking the water but my hips were flat causing back pain. With the hips and back rotating as one this doesn’t happen and the hips also provide the power in the arm stroke.

EXACTLY!!! I never understood where my lower back pain came from, and always swam "like a plank" because i had it wrong in my head for years... until i almost could not stand up or walk straight anymore.... rotation saved my back and allowed me to continue swimming.

This is very helpful. I have noticed an improvement with rotation, but it's good to know why.

The direction is correct, but the amount of work done is still small to achieve the result. You need to practice sliding, stop between strokes. Swim in jerks, with excessive vertical vibrations. Lack of flexibility.

Hola, consulta, patea con cada brazada del mismo lado?, es decir patada izquierda con brazada izquierda y patada derecha con brazada derecha?, no pareciera que lo haga cruzado...

The main thing is kicking that helps you to rotate hips, if you can master that rest is details

I think that if you don't rotate or rotate one side but not the other, one of your laps will come with the elbow, not high enough to ente the water and stretch Correct? The best is your trainer tell you how to fix, that arm that you don't lift the elbow enough

I check your technique coach Adam from principal of mechanics... Actually in case no rotation the full force from arm will transfer to the body to move through shoulder muscles...which will be very heavy because you move full body by arm ... Second weak point ...the arm will produce moment on the body to raise head and sink back parts i mean legs ...which is not good ... But in your technique...when you roll by hips and shoulder about spinal chord or center line of body ...actually you start pushing your arm back by rotation not by arm muscles ....imagine one person lie on a bid and extend his arm and catch a one rope and he start rotation ..without moving his arm he will pull the rope... So when you roll you push your arm back by two way ..rotation ( hips And chest rotation) and muscle of shoulder ...so now you release at least 50℅Of load from moscluse of shoulder that you was looking to release the heavy load on the shoulder... Sure reducing drag is second good point... I give you second example to clarify the benefit of rotation... Imagine you set in a boat ... To move you need to fix shoulder and pull water by hand ....now all energy produced from shoulder muscle... Other way to move ...is to fix arm in the water without movement but rotate around your spinal chord ....now the hip muscles will produce the energy to move the boat .... Third method ...do both action rotation + moving arm ... So now you are using both types of muscles to move ...hip muscles + shoulder muscles... That is coach Adam technique great discovery for swimming......

Experiment and take your conclusion. In say 2 month I went from zero to 40 olympic pools-1 hour without being tired! No more shoulder pain, no more lombar pain. Just don't take my word for it...
