THATS so true actually I feel like on videos for example KZbin we can’t really express everything we feel towards a book and we may feel nervous to speak about what we truly like/dislike about a book! AND OMG WRITING TOO! That would help so much! Girl omg I’m getting hyped for this! OLAY BUT YOUR OPINIONS ARE ALWAYS VALID! AND YOU MATTER SO MUCH I LOVE YOU

books&violets yeah! it can be scary honestly expressing how we feel on youtube with our faces are out on display while we struggle to make coherent sentences 😅 i personally haven’t experienced it, but youtube comment sections also seem like they can be brutal sometimes haha 😬. blogs are nice bc they can shield you with a degree of anonymity! AND YES WRITING! they’re truly so helpful for that 😅. thank you so much, marlete - you’re always so nice 😭💛!

definitely agree with all your points! I find that no matter how busy I get and how many breaks I take, I always end up coming back to the book blogging community - I used to think my blog had to be solely about books but it's definitely more of a digital journal for me now. I do want to get better at interacting though, it's been a recent development for me but I'm working on making it more natural/comfortable 😂

dearrivarie wooo, i’m glad you agree, riv! oof, i feel you - my impromptu hiatuses are more regular than my blog posts 😂. but, it is always so nice to come back! it’s a really nice constant to have in life 🙂 (not to be dramatic hahaha). 100% interacting can be scary and uncomfortable lol. although, i’ve really loved chatting with you recently, and you seem really natural to me 😂💛

I loved this video and I think you covered it all !! That is a really good point about it acting as a digital journal as you get to see things in your life from what you say!! And yes the book community is the best !! Also it is has definitely made me more confident in written communication too like at the start I probably sweating about sending a comment but now I'm used it as just feel much more comfortable !! I do love the book discussions too as they do really make you think about things differently!! Great video!!

such a CUTE INTROOOO AAAAARGGHHHHHH, that's so amazing that you have a huge archive of all your thoughts for years on books and reading. youtube sorta is like a blog in itself, but you're right - a written blog is another great way of sharing/archiving bookish thoughts.

I'm so glad I came across this video! I've been kind of thinking about starting one, but I'm not sure. I'm already on Bookstagram and have a hard enough time as it is to come up with things to say....I don't have the words, lol. But when I do post, I feel like it's super long and I hate that. I'll have to think this through. Thank you for creating this video! :)

I have a BookTube channel but I’m considering a blog to work on my written reviews. I write my reviews for my videos. But i want to go back and share my reviews to Goodreads and make it easier to share my reviews for ARCs or whatever. What platforms do you think are good for blogs? I have used blogger but it’s been over 10 years I don’t care for it that much I like Wordpress it’s hard to learn but I like the options to have pages for different topics. But limited for sharing media for free! Kinda need to share book covers.
@bellecanread3 жыл бұрын
that sounds like a really great reason to make a blog! i’m not well-versed on different blogging platforms 😅, however i personally use Wordpress and really enjoy it! i think it’s awesome because it has a super expansive, yet tight-knit book community which makes it relatively easy for your blog posts to be found. it can take some time to learn, but there are a ton of blog posts made by book bloggers about how to get started on Wordpress - i linked some in the description box 🙂. i hope this helpful! let me know if you have any more questions!

@bellecanread4 жыл бұрын
Ying Chen glad you can agree! it’s a bit hard to navigate at the start, but visiting different book blogs, or “blog-hopping”, and commenting was how i met more people while “spreading my name” lol! also, linking back to people’s posts helps in being more part of the community! recently, i made a twitter and that made it infinitely easier to find new book blogs and for people to find me too 😅. feel free to drop your link here if you want haha. thank you for watching this 🙂!

i decided to keep a book blog long ago so that I won't forget my thoughts on the books I've read. I was so greatful for that blog bc I do some rereads sometimes and it's so fun to see how much my perspective change as time goes by. I restarted and created a new blog again but still kept my old book blog. In this new blog, I put everything in there books, personal and all other things that I love. There's not much there yet but if you wanna check it out: ishieemouie.blogspot.com

I love this!! I absolutely love book blogs, especially because it has allowed me to practise my writing skills, work with time management, get to know people with similar tastes to mine, and obviously, talk about books. I'm just sad it seems that people who read blogs are bloggers themselves, while booktube reaches a wider audience (I'd like to try booktube as well, but filming and editing a video can get so restrictive sometimes - especially with a schedule). :// @thebookmermaid
@bellecanread4 жыл бұрын
Marta Costa Marta!! Thank you so much for watching this and sharing your thoughts 😄💛! I’m glad you agreed with my points! Also, yes! Reading book blogs is such an underrated thing 😕. A lot of time, I actually prefer to read blogs over watching booktube videos because I feel like I can read them faster than watching videos 😅. But then, blog content and booktube content is quite different, so I get how people have their preferences 😕. That would be so cool if you start a booktube one day! You’re right though - filming can definitely take a lot of you, and the whole process can be difficult to fit into a busy schedule.
