Best chalk I've used hands down. Zero miscues, keeps my shaft clean, hands clean, lasts a loooong time and another good thing about this chalk people forget to mention, as you wear it down, the material holding the chalk together is serrated, so as you wear it down you can peel it off as you go. Worth every penny

Yup. Been using Masters for decades. Recently bought Taom Pyro. Blue because my Gold Crown has Simonis blue cloth. Never going back. Great chalk.

I have a red felt, was worried about the Green v10 making mess, but hey it has to be better than using red Master chalk and looking like a murderer after every session. I am super happy to say that this is by far the best thing since sliced bread. It leaves very, very little chalk on cue ball and literally none on your hands and table. No clouds of chalk anymore, no murder scenes. It last forever and a day because it stays where it's supposed to..on the tip, and because of this it works as well as any other premium chalk without the mess. Fantastic stuff

I was also using red masters because of my red cloth and it's horrible. Everything that the red chalk comes in contact with turns red. It stains absolutely everything. I am currently using taom pink until the V10 comes and so far I love their product. Even shooting with my break stick which has a phenolic tip it doesn't miscue. I can't wait for the V10 to come to try it out but the pink (which goes on the tip white) is amazing. Definitely worth the price

For what it's worth, the "more grab" claim that people attribute to premium chalk brands is nonsense. This has been thoroughly tested, filmed, and documented by several players. When approaching these tests without any bias, they all come to the same conclusion -- all chalks, from the $1 cubes to the $30 hexagons and circles, essentially "grab" the same. In other words, you cannot "gain more spin" by buying "better" premium/expensive chalk. It may persist a bit longer on the tip, but this is completely irrelevant considering any decent player is going to be chalking up before shooting any shot that utilizes spin. No solid players are going 5+ shots without chalking, so the persistence argument is quite moot, as well. Cleanliness is really the only relevant factor, and even this is debatable. The only real difference between chalks is how "gritty" and/or "creamy" they feel when applying them. However, if you are chalking up before any shot utilizing spin... and cleaning the cue-ball at any/every given opportunity, it really doesn't matter what brand of chalk you use. People just like to believe that spending more money equates to having a superior product.

I don’t know if it’s a mental thing but I do see the difference between a good tip with the green v10 chalk. It does grab more because I had to adjust my stroke but in a mega good way. I pocket better ever since I switched from the tiger sniper tip to blue diamond soft medium. Green v10 chalk is definitely different, and it doesn’t leave crazy marks on the cue ball. You might wanna really look and make your own test.

I just got back into pool after about 9 years. After getting a new cue and some new cloth for the table I started looking at chalk to see if anything had changed. I had alway heard softer chalks stick to the tip better and can help reduce mis-cueing. So following thay logic I used black masters chalk for all my APA days. So this time around my uncle found this Taom v10 for $20 and bought it thinking he was buying a box of chalk not a single cube. I bought the predator 1080 and we started playing. And I was quite impressed at the difference with the v10 performance. So much that the next day I bought my owen. I'll not make any claim that I get more spin or better English on the ball or anything like that. To me the difference was how the chalk stuck to the tip and dam near nothing else. It truly does not leave marks one the cue ball or the cloth after a hard hit. It doesn't get all over your hands or cue shaft. I think the reason people feal like a particular chalk or tip gives more spin is the result in confidence more then anything else. If your confident in your equipment you will have better form and follow through getting better result. Then it's easy to say oh it must be the good equipment. All that said I like the v10 a lot if for no other reason then it's super clean. I can't say thay I'm a good enough player to notice the "skid" that I guise is attributed to chalk accumulation on the que ball I'm guessing. I can say that less unexpected things happen lol. So I am much more confident that when I miss a shot it because I suck and the fault of my stick lol.

Extremely clean. I was doubtful but I'm now convinced. And, it takes longer to use it up it seems. Maybe, because it sticks to itself and the tip so well instead of falling off. I use a chalk retractable string think on my pocket so I don't lose it. If I lost a lot of chalk It'd be too expensive. I think it's around $18 - $20 U.S. around here.

Hi Darren! I like v10 best too, I just wish they had a blue version of v10. I really don't understand why they don't also release a blue version. Because, unfortunately, when I was practicing the same shot over and over, with draw, my cloth was developing a green-ish stripe and looked ugly (both along the follow through and along the cueball path). So I switched to Pyro, which seems much more difficult to apply to the tip, in my experience... With Pyro, after I scuff or shape the tip, I need to brush the tip with the piece of chalk so many more times than I had to do with v10, until it's properly covered, and overall it seems to be harder to apply, but I have to use Pyro if I don't want green-ish lines on my cloth when practicing the same shot over and over (from the exact same place). I don't understand why they don't also release a blue version of v10 :(

I've used both. I agree with Darren about the stick. But to be even more specific, the Pyro doesn't stick to the edges nearly as well. I didn't make the switch initially due to the color since most tables around me are blue, but the chalk rarely ever comes off so it hasn't been a problem. Now if only I could get people here to stop leaving the Master's chalk face down on the rail. What a mess!

@MStoica
@MStoica Жыл бұрын
In my experience, having used both, the Pyro is more difficult to apply. After I was cleaning then scuffing and shaping the tip, with Pyro I had to brush the tip so many more times to cover it properly, than I had to do with v10. V10 is easier to apply and cover the tip properly in fewer brushes. But I have to use Pyro, because with v10 when practicing the same shot, with draw, from the same spot, over and over and over, my (blue) cloth would develop these faded green-ish lines along the follow through and along the cueball path, which looked ugly on the blue cloth. I wish Taom would also release the v10 in blue :( I really liked it, but can't use it because of the reason I mentioned.

@MStoica
@MStoica Жыл бұрын
@@jonathanj.sherer3740 it's the best chalk otherwise. Only when I was practicing specific shots many times from the same spot. One thing I haven't tried was to brush-vacuum the cloth immediately after practice to see if it would go away entirely (most times I would clean it the next day or even after a few days of practice, but the color was too embedded in the cloth because... many draw shots).

When I’m playing I keep one of those silk(?) wipes, that Predator provides with Revo, in my pocket to wipe the shaft from time to time. When i’m done, i wrap that cloth around the chalk and stick it to my magnetic holder before stowing in my bag. This is also a PSA for magnetic holders - the table isn’t there to hold our chalk! I saw a big $ match where a guy nearly fouled when his Taom rolled onto the table!
