Shawn, I always here you talk about release of the club we’ll past impact. Do you mention this just because you want your students to focus on the target and not the ball? Because clearly you would ultimately want the release of the club for maximum clubhead speed right at impact correct? Can you please clarify? Cheers
@golflessons3 жыл бұрын
THE BALL IS NOT THE TARGET. You are collecting the ball from where it lies and releasing it to where you want it to start it’s flight. Like a boxer punching THROUGH the opponent’s head, like a Hockey player delivering the puck towards the net, like a tennis player serving to the other side of the net...all actions are THROUGH.

Here's a 5 day past new video of Bryson D & Kyle B working together at getting Brysons' swing speeds up even higher kzbin.info/www/bejne/pprFcnaknctkfsU when I first saw them teamed up if I recall correctly, Bryson was swinging speeds in the high 120s and 132+ was his target to get to.....shattering that here in just a few short weeks learning from Kyles' sharing how he got his own speeds up Love that quote from the late, great Moe Norman too, just heard him saying that on one of Todd Graves videos I was watching last night, "I'm the only man that lets his clubs/swing balance me" - moe norman

I feel this is an example of where golf is going in the future. You're going to see big strong athletes like Moe playing golf, instead of killing their bodies playing football. There will be someone that can hit it 400 within the next 15 years. This guy is carrying a 9 almost 200?? And I thought I was long. I carry mine a mere 160... :-(

What exactly does the blur determine and where should it be during set up
@golflessons3 жыл бұрын
The blur is the path of the club; if you don’t see where the club is passing when you take your practice swing and you don’t see it’s direction, you are flying blind. On our premium channel, see the “blur of club” and search “arc-blur” in the search box and watch all of them.

Wow what a great video. Spot on in regards to Justin Thomas getting up on those trail toes well before impact. It is funny how two of the best ball strikers on the planet kept that trail foot planted thru impact. I believe Moe called this happy feet and was outspoken against it and rightfully so. Trevino was outspoken about the importance of keeping the left knee bent thru impact. I can relate to this thru some excellent advice I have received from the #1 coach on the planet. By making several hundred downhill swings and training myself to load into the inside of the lead foot thru impact I feel as if the extension of the left knee is delayed. Think about this. Once the hips are rotated and the left knee is straightened you must do one or two things in order to maintain balance. As Moe has said the upper body falls back and or you roll to the outside of that lead foot. I " was " guilty of these faults. When I receive excellent advice thru my eagle membership monthly video analysis it is like a short circuit around these faults. Undeniably the best personalized instruction ever. Mu lay off the roids. Savey nice hair. Shawn thank you #1

Mu is very strong and has very good fast twitch muscles; the perfect combination for power! Combine that with Wisdom training through the ball, and you get a recipe for absolute ball crushing bliss!

You mentioned, the club felt great - what are you swinging now? I'm guessing the shafts are still DG S300s that are 1/2" longer than standard. You guys get more distance than I! Hopefully the drills will help me fix that. Thx!

Swinging the same clubs that Phil has in his bag for the long irons, the Callaway Epic Forged. We are Using the Steelfiber shaft. Those clubs have raised serious eyebrows for me in my fittings for the last 2 seasons to the point where we woke up one day and Callaway Canada was showing up at our door with a trophy for best Club Fitter in all of Canada for 2020. So since the seed was planted already and when we tried their product we decided as a team to accept their offer to join them. You will see Phil play them this week at the Masters as a full set because of their softer leading edge and higher ball flight with less spin he will need to hit from the fairways that will be cut from greens to tee box which will lean the grain against the players to help protect the course from the fields distance gains. Happy Masters!!!

We are getting ready to COLLECT the ball from where it lies, to deliver it in the direction we want it to go. We live in a dynamic world vs most golfers live in a static world.

All three swings are superb. Moo’s distance is crazy long. If the consistency was there hitting straight he could surely compete on PGA with that length. I keep trying the draw swing but can’t get it but hitting it fairly straight. Length is on and off but not near you guys. Excellent tuition from Shawn and super swing Savannah

Shawn you have two awesome students. It’s good to see the lefties swinging the golf clubs. Do you know that Dustin Johnson who is a right handed golfer can drive a golf ball left handed 300 yards ? I believe that as you discussed the follow through with Mu that I realized that I roll my wrists after impact, and when I miss hit I believe I roll my hands during impact. It was a blind spot for me. The last detail, I hope. I would love to feel confident about hitting my drives much more consistently. I take so many notes, but not about this last detail. Your gentle instructions allowed me to willingly follow your advice. I once learned from my father how to drive a car, and he wasn’t a very patient man.

Whatever allows you to deliver THROUGH THE BALL with ease and velocity. You will see this body language as that of a person getting ready to deliver her action in the direction she wants to start the ball; collecting the ball from where it is and releasing it into the flight plan that was established BEFORE she set up.

What about the pressures applied through the feet into the ground? Since I've always tended to lose balance because I would get too much weight into my toes even though I don't set up too far from the ball. But after working on moving pressure into my trail heel on my back swing and moving pressure into my lead heel from transition through impact to finish, I maintain perfect balance and achieve great results with strike and accuracy of the shot. I watch many professionals feet when they swing. And it's obvious that they move pressure in this fashion. Of course, this isn't the only portion of swinging a club that needs to be performed properly. There's also proper use of the legs, hips and keeping the head behind the ball through impact as well as proper tilt of shoulders getting the lead shoulder down into the back swing.
@golflessons3 жыл бұрын
Hi Dave! You will get all this when applying yourself to one of our tasks that creates the run and brings together everything you just spoke about. See our “grass whip training shawn clement” video for example or all the “throw the club shawn clement” videos. When you throw the club in the direction you want to start the ball, the brain needs to get the ground to initiate the kinetic chain, then the hips, torso, arms, hands and club get pulled through into the picture as a complete self preserving task that we have been wired and made to do for millions of years now.
