If you want to check the tube for the leak, leave one bead of the tire on the rim. Then when you find the leak (say, you notice it has a hole 8" away from the valve, or maybe exactly opposite the valve) you know exactly where to look inside the tire for the thorn, piece of safety wire, whatever that caused the flat, and you can pull it out instead of getting another instant flat.

I just put my new tube in my tire using the tips and techniques in your video. They worked very well and made it very easy to do it. I changed one thing though, I put soapy water on both sides of the tire when reinflating it. The bead popped well before the max pressure for the tire. Max pressure for the tire is 35 the bead popped at about 28 psi. Thank you so much for your help. I am hitting the trail as soon as the rain stops.
