This episode really hit home. I've been in the trucking industry for 20 years from driver to company owner. As you progress, the work seems like it's 24/7, but the pay seems to hit a hard ceiling. I'm trying to find a way to get the training in and making the switch. I got my class 1 medical out of the way now. I just need to find the time to get the training in.

I agree. Fifty two years old and 17 hours in the logbook so far, but I’m scheduling lessons four days a week or more.

This might be the info I need, currently I’m a crane operator at this company I work at, along with a lot more responsibilities, and I’m topped out at this company. Time to find something new to keep growing!!

The note about building a chicken coop with the kids reminds me of my brother that became a doctor so that he could afford to play farmer on the weekends.

I’m in the ‘has a family/responsibilities but wants to go into aviation’ boat. Still trying to find a way in but it’s tough with paying bills and all that. I just need to jump in and figure it out as I go.

The best thing you can do is be deliberate about your choices. Write down a budget, write down time responsibilities and write down your timeline. Stress test each to make sure you can withstand the pressures.

I love your solo mindset videos. Speaking from your experiences and how that’s shaped your thoughts and perspectives within the aviation community is something I don’t get to see too often.

Hi all, I am seeking advice. I am a British national and hope to have a green card in a year or so. I have about 15,500 hours on mostly 737/777 and about 200 on the 787. Once I have a green card I hope to live and work in the US. I am finding the US job market very difficult to navigate largely due to the 1000 hour requirement. Is there any way “around” this requirement or at least a short cut of sorts for someone in my position? I am 50 years old. Thanks for any info or tips.

He forgot the part that after 10 years you're paying alimony for life because you'r lonely wife left you. She will take half of your retirement and most of your current pay for child support. She will keep the house and the kids you will move into a small condo. Hopefully, you can afford an extra room for when the kids do visit once a month. Now you're working 80 hours a week just to keep up with child support and alimony payments but now you have nothing to come home to. Thanks Corporate America
