I just found out about you 2 weeks ago. And today was my first day on the job in 3 years where i managed the whole day without painkillers. It still hurts, but its a small fraction to what im used with. Thank you so much for teaching me about all this, im 27 years old and cant even run, i actually thought my life was basically over and my best days where behind me. You are giving me so much hope about the future again. None of the doctors or chiropractors i have been to has been able to help me with any pain relief, and i have read alot of comments on your videos and learning that im not alone in this. You have already given me so much, but i wanna ask you two more things. 1. Can you please make a video teaching us how we should sit? You have teached me to walk, but i can feel my lower back stiffen up real bad when i sit, and sadly i have to do it alot in my line of work. I'm a truck driver. 2. Can you make a video with a training program we can do each day, including some strengthening and stretching? Its so confusing watching u and Conor Harris videos and i end up with 40 different exercises. It feels like i would have much better progress having a structural program i could do each day. I have the complete works, twisted knees, tilted pelvic, Idiopathic Scoliosis, flared ribs on the left, one shoulder higher than the other (for some reason my right is higher than the left) and uneven cranium. I have an eyetest tomorrow to try glasses with a prism on the left, since when i cover my right eye it feels like i observe objects a bit further away and it seemed to have helped you alot. Again thank you Neal Hallinan, you are literately saving my life. I had lost all my hopes before recently.

Wow, thank you so much for posting this very detailed comment and I am the mother of three children in their 30s and they are starting to have this problem - I am grateful that you found Neal at your age because at 60 I’ve been dealing with this for 20 years. I also have the same questions Neil… That this young man has because I also watch Connor Harris and there’s just too many exercises to do it takes me all day every day just to function for dinner - I can’t work Anymore And the limitations just get way crazy out of hand so if you would, please answer his questions about sitting and stuff that would help all of us. God bless all of you guys.

@@PhishedOff I am just finding Neal now, I want to recommend the book "healing back pain" by dr. Sarno, it provides information on the psychological part of this stuff. I hope you are doing better now than 4 months ago but if not, check the book out.

Walking slow, backwards on an incline uphill seems to help, in my case. One foot directly in back of the other. [from your stair-step video]...

That can certainly help, yes. Just make sure you sense your left heel and left shoulder is lower, when pushing through left foot.

Always a pleasure to see a new video from you Neal! I’ve made a lot of progress in my own journey of healing and un-patterning. A year ago I was commenting on your videos in a pretty desperate and hopeless state and I’m so glad that things are slowly starting to come together. I knew my issue had something to do with my visual system, but my optometrist and PRC PT couldn’t agree on what exactly was going on for over half a year. Very recently made the discovery that my left eye is slightly higher than my right eye, resulting in binocular vision dysfunction. All my life, the right side of my face surrounding my right eye feels like it’s being tugged upwards, even the right TMJ was affected, which explains my unique premature tooth wear on mainly my right side. When the eye doctor put a different trial prism on my left eye (to make it level with the right eye) the tugging sensation disappeared and I could feel the tension on the left side of my body dissipate. It’s insane how a subtle misalignment of the eyes can literally wreck your body over time, and I’m in full agreement with you that there’s bound to be plenty of people out there suffering from a faulty visual system without even knowing it.

Great comment, Chris. Happy you are feeling better about things. Yes, it's a very frustrating situation, and the extra ocular muscles are really, really, strong. Yet it's so hard to diagnose these things and so hard to get other professionals to understand what PRI is talking about.

Hey Neal!! When we stand on the left. Is it supose to fell pressure in the right feet steal, correct? Because i tend to be full pressure on tge left and my right leg is completly lose. But makes sense for the right leg fell some pressure because the arch needs to feel something!! Am i thinking correctly?

Hi Neil, I was just watching your video called correcting my vision. I have a lazy right eye. It was detected when I was 7 and I was given eye patches but they had no impact. The lazy eye was a 9/10 so nothing was done besides giving me the option of glasses. I am in my later twenties now. Recently I had to pass a medical exam and my lazy eye dropped to a 6/10. What should i do ? I have never heard about the special glasses you spoke about, not sure if that is an option in Belgium. Should I fix my vision before I adres the left AIC pattern and pelvic tilt ? I notice when I close my good left eye, the lazy eye opens up more and my eyebrow goes up. Maybe i should cover up my good eye to stop the Tightness surrounding the lazy eye

Hi Neal. Do you have any recommendations for finding optometrists who understand binocular vision dysfunction? Where I live there is no PRI with visual integration, but I hope to correct my vision anyways.

@3:00 When you said "completely altered" and "because of being" your jaw and teeth moved in a weird way subconsciously for some reason. Is that maybe from a traumatic incident when you were younger thats triggering your response for some reason. I catch the little things all the time. Could that also be from postural restoration because the jaw affects everything in your body

You said something interesting, being a “visually dominant person” and referring to sympathetic dominance and vagus nerve. This sounds like me and I wear contacts/glasses…how do you know if your contacts/glasses MAY be doing this to you, aka putting you in and getting stuck in sympathetic dominance?! Could staring at computer screens, smartphones and watching too many movies/tv shows cause you to become to visually dominant person? And to think, just 30 yrs ago we only had analog televisions to watch, now are eyes are being dominated and stimulated by computers/smartphones/Netflix binging etc. these PRI issues def sounds like a modern, technological epidemic

PRI testing will tell you. I have at least one video that shows how testing changes as I manipulate someone's vision. In regards to your second paragraph: yes to all of it. PRI wasn't needed 50 years ago.

Well, this might sound crazy, but I took the tongue depressor standing in front of a mirror because I’m just like this guy you’re talking about… When I put the tongue depressor in behind my canines my whole body shifted to the left, basically to the middle where it should be - as soon as I took it out my body went to the right - that blows my mind. I also have a et aide cataract and i closes the bad eye - same thing. I wonder if fixing this would also improve my sleep apnea?

Vision is definitely a major component of balance. As for the tongue depressor, do you happen to have a crossbite or jaw deviation to the left or right? And does your tongue naturally rest evenly on the roof of your mouth? If not, try some myofunctional exercises, because that can help with the body and with sleep apnea. For your sleep apnea though, there are just so many potential causes that I can't really say if working on your posture will help, but it can't hurt to try.

I’m a ballroom dancer. Right side dominant with lateral pelvic tilt. I had wondered for years why I had issues with any dance maneuver to the left side. It was like a mental block! I also am very farsighted but have 20/20 distance vision, so I never needed glasses to dance with my instructors…. I’m a 3rd year student now with painful right side Achilles tendonitis and right side tennis elbow. Your videos have given me hope that I might be pain free someday. :)

Ironically my "balance" was always extremely good because of this.(so everyone thought). If only i knew i never switch sides. In reality i cant even stand truly on my left leg without it feeling like balancing on a ball.

Many people have "excellent" left leg balance....but it's completely compensatory.

Yes I am getting all off balance - have been a while. I was a hockey cheerleader on ice - snow skier - bicycle loved. Water skiing - all in my youth. Head on car charger collision no seatbelt I held the steering wheel. Messed me up. Orthoganist helped me greatly with my neck. Been renovating boats with my husband and now I am in trouble - Just found this round of videos. Posture restoration. May be too late for me but my son who works fir Boeing at the computer all the time has posture issues. I am very excited about this information. Who does this in Seattle area?

My body was shutting down and nobody could figure it out. Ive been dizzy 24/7 , vision problems, inability to speak and 20 plus more symptoms that were disabling. This has been going on for 5 plus years. I am finally getting some relief and feel like there is an end to all of this. Thank you so much.

Dear Neal, My awkward situation is getting better but really wanted to share it with you. I used to have right foot drop and once I healed it with basic ankle dorsiflexion it was okay. But during this exercise quads are activated (you can check) and I assume I did overtraining and my right side was anteriorly tilted because of tight quads. Finally when I started training my left leg with the same ankle dorsiflexion exercise my pelvis started getting even.

Research from Dr. William Bates would suggest glasses in general are an avoidance of corrective behaviors as well. Hes worth reading

His book is titled Better Eyesight Without Glasses. He treated thousands of kids and adults using eye exercises (not so much muscular as focus, sight, and imagination matching toward clarity) and explains the use of tools for measuring ocular stress which arises from the "strain to see" which blurs, rather than 'relaxed expextation' which must be practiced for passive improvement. I read his book and have stopped wearing my glasses. Trees have LEAVES now.

That is my general sense, yes. And in regards to the Bates method, if someone says they can see clearly without wearing their glasses, that's fine, I"m sure they do. But I'd also want to test their ranges of motion. If they can get neutral and stay neutral, then the Bates method worked. But if they now see clearly, but their body is restricted, then they have to figure out what's more important to them. I saw "perfectly" in the distance until I was 37 years old, but in reality I was straining to see (undiagnosed hyperope) and my body was a mess. I had no clue I had a problem with my visual system because I had nothing to compare it to.

Thanks for making this video. I have a question. I had a kneecap dislocation on my right leg that makes me unable to rotate to the right, so my pelvis is always rotated to the left. Now I am always having my weight on my left leg because of the pain. I am right handed, so this has forced me to become left-footed. Two years after this happened I started getting symptoms of dizziness and balance issues. My question is it is possible if you are right-handed, and not being able to use your right side of the body, could this lead to the issues you mention? Thanks a lot.

Your cranial bones may not be neutral anymore , ie mandible going one way and sphenoid the other

You mentioned having hearing loss you didn't know about, alongside your sensory integration issues because of your visual system; I have intense tunnel vision that's exacerbated by being stuck in a posterior pelvic tilt due to SI/lumbar hypermobility, on top of anomalous retinal correspondence that skews my entire visual field to be right-eye dominant; I feel the insane sensory issues that come with this and I'm only 21, how did you go about alleviating them? I've been in vision therapy but my tunnel vision feels like it keeps holding me back

Your vision could be influenced by what's going on in your body, and vice versa. You'd need to find a PRI therapist to help in the context of what I'm talking about.

@@NealHallinan I'm in NJ, and the only provider I see is you; do you do physical therapy sessions? My patho-PEC & visual issues go hand in hand, and I haven't found anyone able to understand/address that; the joint hypermobility causes me a lot of pain that I'm not even aware of consciously most of the time

This is extremely common. Our brain's cant tell the difference (because of the default/patterned position you mentioned) between over/under loading left/right leg until we start to really become aware of what leg we are loading consistently. I have found some pretty interesting ways to test this. Interestingly enough, by the time you can get someone's quad/glute etc to burn/fatigue on the weaker/less dominant side (even in something basic like a wall sit), the brain starts to auto correct and starts loading both legs more evenly (obviously many steps before this). But it won't do that automatically until it starts to "trust" that leg/etc again. Brain won't load a side that it can't feel/sense/trust. AKA if you have no awareness of oblique/quad etc your brain will not *load* that side of your body. When I work with clients with back pain on the right side/knee pain on the right side etc, always find the brain will not trust that side of the body and therefore loads disproportionately (autonomically as well) to keep weight off of that side. Of course this involves the feet as well. This whole system has to be repatterned. It can be addressed in many ways it seems like, including visually/dentally from what you mentioned (which I frankly didn't even consider). Great video as always. Strong correlations to how I work with my own clients.

Yes, I have Neil's described Patterning, and I'm a year into trying to fix, but even with PRI dental aid I cannot load my right leg this similar rt back & knee pain you mention. Any suggestions?

So i lean on my right leg but when i take a tep forwards i lean on my right leg but both my heels start peeling off floor. I also have forward head and rounded shoulders and a anterior pelvic tilt. i also have dental issues with i need two wisdom teeth removed. I may also have lateral pelvic tilt and neck stiffness. I also when these problems started happed got diagnosed with eoe eosnphilic esophagitis. Neal any thoughts about my issues.

Don't get any teeth pulled unless last resort. You have the bite and probably small maybe Apnea airway that probably corresponds to your posture problems. Try to consult with an airway orthodontist, the type that expands the palate and mouth. You need to get your palate neutral first before expansion. See Ron Hruska video Lateral Temporal Rotary Mandibular Trusion as to reasons for the latter

Working with a vision therapist last 4 months who recently prescribed me prism glasses with them base down. Tried a cool test where I stood on two scales. Without the glasses my right side was showing 10lb over the left. Put on the prism glasses and the weight is more even.

@@johnberry3418 So base down prisms bring the ground “up”. That would explain the shift to the left. Your brain now senses the ground under the left foot so it’s no longer threatened by lack of a “floor” under the left foot.

Great video Neal. I'm currently taking PRI courses. I've taken Myokinematic, and Postural Respiration. Thank you for focusing more on using the terms "sense" and Sensory input. I know you have discussed this in previous videos. But, this is making way more sense now. No pun intended. I wish you weren't so far in Jersey. Thanks for all the great content. I just subscribed.

I doubt it. You just have mixed dominance.
