My face was mauled by a dog when I was 12. I still have a lopsided and scared mouth. I also don’t know who my parents are. Beauty to me is through deeds, actions of kindness, being a good neighbour and caring for others. Keep your curiosity about things. If you just try to look pretty it doesn’t get you very far. Don’t take yourself too seriously and have a sense of humour for when things get difficult so you can laugh about it instead of fighting over it. Physical beauty fades and you have to be able to have a good conversation otherwise people will back away as you are boring. Thank you. May you all please take care and stay safe. Louisa. 👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️🤩🤩🤩

I went through cancer treatments for 2 years and still considered "overweight " I don't care. In my 20's I was a size 00 and unhealthy. Now even with my extra weight I have perfect cholesterol, low blood sugar and pressure. If you can't accept yourself how do you expect anyone else to.

Gurl wish u the best❤️ I had a emergency surgery & stayed in the hospital for month almost not eating anything just from tube. Was sooo underweight crazy, but people would compliment my body (didn’t know what I went thru) 💀 Now aftee years I weigh a lot more & lift weights, I get comments that I gained quite some weight 🌚🤌🏻 BUT I dont care because I’m actually HEALTHY! Seeing how crazy people are about bodies on social media is crazy & dangerous 😢

I used to be overweight until i was 19 years old. I got bullied for it all my life, starting when i was only 4 years old. Literally grown ups in our village would laugh at me, only because i was a pound heavier than the other kids, which is simply my anatomy. But as i grew older, i gained more and more weight, trying to eat the pain away. The bullying got worse and worse and i hated myself so much. When i was 19 i started to fight myself and lose weight. It didn’t take me long to realise that my thoughts were becoming unhealthy and scarier week by week. I had developed anorexia. I first asked for help when i was still in the lower normal weight range. Doctors laughed at me, since i “couldn’t be anorexic when not underweight”, although i had lost more than 130 lbs in only 8 months. No one wanted to help me, not even my own family. No one believed me how much i was suffering and how urgently i needed help. The time passed and by the time i was 21, i had to start fighting for my life. Severely underweight, damaged organs, losing my hair, no period, too weak to concentrate on anything, work or even carry myself to my bed to lie down. All of a sudden, everyone was worried. But guess what: i was still getting bullied! People stared at me, made comments, a woman i walked by on the street even loudly told her kid to “not look at that disgusting mess”. I started recovery on May 30th 2021 and i went inpatient in 2022. Tomorrow is my 25th birthday and i’m now at a normal weight. It’s hard and i’m still fighting. Not only with my ed, but with physical long term damage i took from it. But i have made it so far and i am so proud of myself. If there is one thing i’ve learned, it’s that it ACTUALLY doesn’t matter what you look like. No matter what weight i was, there were always people who made fun of me and told me i was not enough. I hated myself regardless of my weight and becoming less of myself did not make me happier. The beauty standards are not worth it. Please stay yourself ❤️ you are gorgeous and you deserve your place here.

I have Crohn’s and celiacs. I weighed 95 lbs as an adult. My body is not meant to be that small and the only reason I was that small was because I couldn’t keep food down and I pooped my brains out. I love cass so so much for the honesty she brings to a superficial world. I have been watching her older videos. I’ve lost both of my parents in the last 6 months. Watching cass and the community she created has helped me stay grounded. I just enjoy her so much. And this community.

Absolutely can relate to thinking if you are a certain type of body, I'd be happier. And you know what? Worked out for 2 years being almost antisocial, lost like 20 kg (looked closer to how the body was "supposed to look like" at that period of time) and still didn't get happy. And then got a crazy ass acne at the age of 22 and started feeling even worse. Now we're 30 and thinking we're amazing and not trying to follow the "ideal body" trends. I do get those thoughts back sometimes, the way I was feeling when I was at school that I wasn't worthy, but I remind myself that body comes if different forms, and it doesn't mean there's something wrong with it. Love that you brought this topic up. I support every word of it ♥

Unrelated to this video comment - I've been watching you since you were modelling and struggling with acne as I was also struggling with acne. I've cleared my skin nowe and your videos have really helped me understand my skin, products and how to use them. My skin is not perfect but i am comfortable going out without makeup which is a true achievement given i'd put foundation on to hide scars and flairs first thing in the morning back in the day. So, thank you!

I'm aways so inspired by you cassandra, I am a fellow neurodivergent who is also a POC so fo my entire life literally as long as I can remember I have been taught to hate every inch of myself and never having a place to fit in cause I was always too fat or too thin or too brown but not brown enough it truly is torture and lead to many years of Ed and mental health issues, but since I found your channel and starting taking my skincare seriously and getting into a routine I obviously had to look at myself in the mirror more, which is something I generally avoid, and over the past year or so i've noticed that I'm actually starting to like what I see which is truly something I never ever thought I would say. Becoming disabled and all the struggles I have gone through have made it so extremely hard to find things to like about myself but you have inspired me and helped me so much and I will never be able to thank you for that ❤

I needed this today!! I was contemplating a $60/mo bottle of supplements even though every fiber of my being usually screams “food can do that!! Eat your macros!” I don’t want to use supplements but as I approach menopause it’s so tempting to pay out the nose for a quick fix 😓 I don’t hate my body, nor does my husband, but I want to maintain it’s appearance (healthy, a bit muscular, but by no means thin or buff) as best I can through my 40-50’s!

My desire to drop some weight is to lose what has shown up on my waist/abdomen because perimenopause SUCKS. Trousers, jeans, shorts- all can be uncomfortable, even with elastic waists. I’ll never be wafer thin, and I don’t want to me. I love my height and am working to get some muscles back I had from my Krav Maga classes. But ultimately, I just want to be comfortable in clothes. Because I enjoy style and it sucks to have something fit well everywhere but my waist with no extra material to let it out.

Just wanted to share. Beauty for me is having an unique feature or a noticable feature. For me, having that authentic feature makes you beautiful even if you don't fit societal beauty standard. I think beauty is subjective and if we look at it with appreciation and a positive mind, we can really see a more diverse and beatiful world.

Something super important is that in the past, people acheived the ideal "body" with clothing and padding! People were always people shaped; clothing shape does SO much. (Seriously, those 1920s dresses are giant rectangles, the 1950s had bullit bras, and hoop skirts make everyones waist look tiny without the need for Scarlett O'Hara tightlacing) It's just now our actual bodies are on display and go in and out of style. In the past, you could alter your dresses or at least reuse the fabric when silhouettes came in and out of fashion rather than try to change your actual body

They are all starting to look the same - it's almost like a template of what's considered ideal. What I look like to someone else (and let's be honest, a lot of it is female competition for the male gaze) makes little difference in my day-to-day happiness! I think about my friends who struggle with weight & body shape issues. I don't love them any more - or any less! - depending on their weight! I have my own insecurities and they love me the same too: 10-20-30 lbs up or down it's immaterial. The main issue is HEALTH and I want to be healthy - I want my friends to be healthy so that we'll have many years and adventures together. It isn't healthy to look like an anorectic heroin zombie with implants!
