In this video Geoff Buys Cars becomes Geoff Sells Furniture and then Geoff Gives Away Furniture and then Geoff Reads The Bible, all the while being Geoff Points Out Things, most notably that your car is too small and all of your furniture is rubbish. Why is that?!

@@jonnyraff1241There's a small chance you might understand when you grow up and get some responsibilities in your life mate -by the way, my 530d Touring will give pretty much any hot hatch on the road a good run for its money on the straights and murder them through the twisty-bits even with 12 lengths of wood in the back, and if it doesn't then my '96 JDM Impreza WRX absolutely will. Although not as good as my 2002 Kia Sedona, my 2010 Kia Sedona (stupid foot applied handbrake instead of a proper pull up handbrake and not quite as roomy) is still better than an estate and after thirteen and a half years (touch wood) remains totally reliable. I dread the time when I have to buy a new car because of ridiculous and downright dangerous touch screens. From the day that I take over the Country and become dictator, no new car with a touch screen will be registered .... manufacturers have been warned. Within weeks, most supermarket and public car park spaces will be remarked to be at least two foot wider and two foot longer for the convenience of those who drive proper cars.

From T Pratchett - 'Boots' theory of socioeconomic unfairness" through Vimes musing on how expensive it is to be poor: The reason that the rich were so rich, Vimes reasoned, was because they managed to spend less money. Take boots, for example. ... A really good pair of leather boots cost fifty dollars. But an affordable pair of boots, which were sort of OK for a season or two and then leaked like hell when the cardboard gave out, cost about ten dollars. ... But the thing was that good boots lasted for years and years. A man who could afford fifty dollars had a pair of boots that'd still be keeping his feet dry in ten years' time, while a poor man who could only afford cheap boots would have spent a hundred dollars on boots in the same time and would still have wet feet.

You're dead right about furniture. I had to get rid of my great-grandfather's dining table last year when I moved house, and nobody wanted it. Not even any inquiries. I don't know what's wrong with people. It's survived about 140 years already, and still looks better than the stuff you can buy today. Solid as a rock. Fortunately the new owner of the house had some sense and was happy to take it. Since I was downsizing I didn't need anything to replace it, but if I ever do it's the antique shops for me. IKEA's absolute junk. The ultimate triumph of marketing over substance.

Style. Design. Function. Sadly the role of modern mass market car design has lost its way completely in my view. Why does no one want a car that is practical anymore...? Can't blame the manufacturers as they will make to demand. But can we not remember...when heaven was a stylish, eminently usable shooting brake! I have an old hot hatch that has carried stuff modern SUV's with twice the footprint can only dream about. Back seats out & front seat flat in minutes and it's a tad over 7 feet, gloves box to tailgate. Park bench, mattresses, sofas, bookcases..you name it I've moved it! Car design hit a zenith 20 years ago and has been heading south ever since. Over engineered. If I ever fantasise of an electrically closing boot, Geoff I'll need you to shoot me. Keep up the good work. Always enjoy your videos.

I have a penchant for old things including furniture because not only were they constructed in better quality materials ie real wood, but also in the case of wardrobes as an example were thoughtfully designed for easy and reliable diss assembly and reassembly in sections for moving home. Try doing that with chip or mdf board rubbish which invariably pulls at most of the fixing areas then disintegrates. And you can really repair those without it looking like a bodge. Most of my furniture is older than me. Old or period furniture similar to old buildings exude evidence just by looking at the decorative detailing where it is obvious that love of craftsmanship and longevity were inbuilt.

I was emigrating and was willing to give away for free, they only needed to pick up. As I had no response I ended up hacking the items into smaller pieces and launching them at the recycling centre. Where I stay now people are normal and appreciate items

Appearing on BBC’s Politics South-East on Sunday 5 May, Caulfield said: “Lib Dems and Greens want to introduce a road toll system, 15-minute cities, where you will have to pay a congestion charge if you travel by car more than 15 mins from home.” When challenged by the host that council leaders have said it was not true, Caulfield replied: “It’s actually printed… on their draft local plan. It’s in their official documents that they supportive of 15-minute cities. I think they’ve probably dropped that plan because it’s so controversial.”

Lee Alford, station manager at Avon and Fire Rescue Service, said crews have "reason to believe" it was started by an EV, but added that investigations were ongoing and no conclusions had been reached yet. A major road was closed in north Bristol when the fire began at the Drive Vauxhall Bristol North premises off Gloucester Road in Patchway at about 10:00 BST.

I also took home a 1200x650mm commercial kitchen sink that I picked up from Nisbets catering warehouse in Avonmouth - the bloke who brought it out to me was surprised to see me with a Yaris, but it was a doddle, I just flattened the rear seats down and chucked it in.

I had two Montego estates between 1989 and 1996, first one 1.6 petrol and second one a brand new 92 diesel turbo 2 litre. From 95 to 2009 I had various vans for my sign making business then in 2009 I bought an Audi 100 estate which I filled completely, including the front passenger seat, to drive across Europe in 2010 to my current home in Romania. The Audi was replaced by a 7 seat Dacia Logan MCV, similar size and shape to a Renault Kangoo. Owning estate cars or vans always made me popular when friends with smaller cars needed something transported! The most popular body style here in Romania are estate cars, known here as "Breaks", not "Brakes" as in the UK. Dacia Dusters are also very popular.

Definitely says ‘sick’. It’s a very popular style of begging to their imaginary sky daddies. My Bible was presented to my Nanna in 1895. She died when I was about 5 or 6. She must have known she was going, because she came out of the old house and asked me to fetch my Dad from up the field. He cam running, and the doctor arrived later. Then they took Nanna away in a black van. Anyway, there’s no mention of the word PERSON in the King James Version. Something worth thinking about, especially considering the high importance placed upon the word, and its meaning, by the entire legal system. Peace 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

But we have saved a fortune picking up stuff that we would have had to have had delivered. Large screen TVs, furniture and last week an oven. Also the advantage of having a long roof so that with roof bars one can also carry long lengths of wood etc. SUVS have also replaced MPVs like Zafiras which were pretty cavernous. I have noticed increasingly that companies like Argos and Currys no longer hold larger things instore and you are forced to have them delivered.

Moving furniture in a Volvo, I thought I was watching a episodes of Lovejoy. A proper estate car should be equipped with a roof rack

2009 Audi A6 Avant 2.0 TDI. A motorway munching, 16ft, near 2 tonne battlebus, that'll do 800 miles on a full tank and get 50 to the gallon. The German "everything" car. If I ever get rid of it, it'll only be to replace it with another. Estate cars for the win. 😃

I had a Chevrolet Camaro SS, which I wanted to change for a newer, lighter, faster, more fuel efficient Camaro. Unfortunately, finance companies messed me about, and would not do left-hand drive, so have bought a 2019 Mondeo Vignale hybrid estate. It is great for my road bikes, moving a fridge/freezer, etc, and mpg is not bad, but it is gutless, and has all this electronics, I don't need. It is a pain trying to drive up multi-storey car parks, due to length, too! I got it to trade-in at a later date for the Camaro SS, I really want, but Mondeo prices are falling, and Camaro's are rising!!!

I bought my car based on the boot size. I couldn't afford a van so bought the biggest small car with the biggest boot. 🤣

One thing I will say about a good estate car..... back in the mid nineties I had a montego estate....I fitted some caravan curtains inside with some screws and some bailer twine...and stuck a good sized single mattress in it...perfect fit....and perfect mobile hotel room...cheap as chips as they say....
