some people think we need more eolic and solar, i think you are absolutely right nuclear energy for some reason is a tabo, i think its because if we make more nuclear plants, then natural gas is not that important anymore and the oil industry which is huge is not gonna have it
@MnktoDave
@MnktoDave 2 жыл бұрын
@@abdulachik Nuclear energy has a bad rap because of the inherent danger involved in producing it, and the thousands of years (or more) the stored radioactive 'waste' remains extremely toxic to almost every living thing. Until they solve those problems (in my opinion) it should not really be considered as a mainstream energy source, and certainly NOT considered a viably 'clean' energy source, as the industry likes to portray it. All it takes is one mistake or an unpredicted act of nature like for example, what already happened at 3 Mile Island, Chernobyl, and Fukushima. Last I heard, Japan still wants to dump millions of gallons of toxic contaminated water directly into the Pacific ocean (starting spring of 2022, and continuing for the next 30 years!) because they don't know where to store it all, and it's the cheapest/easiest option to deal with the problem. They estimate 40 years or more to clean up the Fukushima site from that incident alone, and the Chernobyl site was completely buried under thick concrete, and will continue to be uninhabitable for hundreds of years or more into the future. Not what I'd call safe, or green energy. That's why many consider it to be taboo.

@Avantime

In the US in winters, home boilers and furnaces using heating oil are much more widespread because the fuel is cheaper and more reliable than electricity, especially with snowstorms bringing down powerlines. However you can't run the AC with heating fuel in the summer. Texans don't use heating oil because of the state's milder climate, which is why they froze when electricity got cut out last year.

Thanks for the link , it's come to my realisation that some batteries that were dieing suddenly received charge from what I can only explain as a microwave and ultrasound cross feed from some other devices. So it then came to mind that wave density in places has started to sap the electric from our homes like it's bouncing round the plug and wavering the electric goodbye. When these batteries recieved energy from the wave transit at that moment it was surprising. Yet must be part of the reason some kind of usage is having to be paid for and I believe it's a seepage due to a wave density issue. If the powers that be have unexplained seepage or usage they compensate by raising the cost it might become clearer. Thanks again,

I had a rigid urethane foam roof 2'' thick sprayed on my entire roof in 2019. It has tan mineral granules as a finish. It cut my natural gas heating bills in half, never had AC in this house, just ceiling fans and box fans. The attic stays below 95F even on hot days. It was 92F outside but upstairs remains 77F this afternoon. The attic gable vent fan ran 14+ hours a day in Summer before the foam roof now might run once in 6 weeks for 20 minutes, then stop. My neighborhood is full of black roofs for some reason. I walk in the evenings and hear attic fans still running after dark all up and down my street. The addition of the foam roof is the best thing I ever did in owning this home for 30+ years.

Time for Germany to rethink shutting down their very effective nuclear power plants. France for the time being is the wiser and sticking with nuclear power; often producing surplus energy. Meanwhile the rest of Europe are dependents on Putin's power whims. So now we'll be paying higher electricity costs to subsidize some real bad planning in Europe. This was/is a huge unforced error.

Inflation often happens when wages of employee increase and they start spending more, but the inflation we are now facing is caused by supply issues, which is not able to be solved until supply chain gets back to normal. Fracking has bad name due to using water to bring up oil and not filtering dirty water due to high costs. But if we only want natural gas then we just have to do fracking ground and don't have to use water. Even with raising rates, if Washington allow fracking for natural gas with government soft loans, fracking companies will be able to make big profit after natural gas price went up by 300% in last 3 months with EU buyers waiting. With Putin in charge of Russia, it will be at least 3 years that Russia will be out of oil and LNG market. So greater demand means supplies are lower (wrong!) and she wants us to save by running A/C at night?

I agree. Blah blah blah - Putin price hike. Did WSJ mention Biden agenda ? BTW, we don't have such problems in north central Texas. My last 3 months electric bills were #25, $25, and $35. The local plant burns a mile long car of coal daily and the sky could not be more blue and the air could not be fresher. It's very clean and cheap. I left California after 3 generations and they can suck a bag of dawg dix.

Where I live is common to see 1 guy working in the power lines and 4 or 5 supervising, also shareholders want a bigger piece of the pie

That is a union requirement. Workers can't be alone due to safety issues. So two linemen. Then you would have the superintendent that isn't allowed to do work due to union rules. Then you would have a company rep or internal supervisor there for the engineer/designer. The last would handle material coordination, quality control, resolve unforeseen site conditions. Then if you have a 3 day job, you pay for 5 days to mobilize and demobilize.

Heat with wood my wife and I will be. you people don't even remember the old ways any more you rather use propane and natural gas andvheating oil. I just don't understand America anymore nobody wants to run a chainsaw anymore they don't want to work hard anymore or cut fire wood or do a good job at there job any more quality or be macgyver fix things. I am 41 years old and people used to heat with wood and work hard every day. Instead you have let technology take over your life and that's all you might care about. No values about family staying together the way God would want you to. No disapline by the parents anymore. Don't let the US government run your life. No back to the lost ways the book. Its all coming to and end in 8 months jugment day.

#439👍😤The export of our gas costs us all more in the US. This report is about the east coast more than in the West where we have hydro.

From what we hear, the bigger concern for the American west is water... the Colorado River hasn't been used in an efficient manner over the decades.

We can help with the supply of oil by simply lifting sanctions against Iran Venezuela Syria Libya and other countries that the US does not agree with. When we want to strangle the economies of other countries we create a boomerang effect. Now we the consumers are paying for this through high prices because the supply chain has been cut. As a man once said the chickens have come home to roost
