Why Your TT NEEDS a Carbon Spoiler! (Way More Agressive)

Last week I updated the front end of the car by installing a custom front lip. This week I wanted to balance out the car by adding some carbon fiber to the rear of the car.

The rear lift was only experienced above 105mph so a speed I cannot legally do nor wanna risk doing as above 100 is an automatic ban (an auto ban not an autobahn unfortunately )in the UK unless I go on a track. Pretty sure same for you in States. So no real risk removing it for road use.

Looks good! Even though I personally prefer the orginal look for my own vehicle. And yes, lacking the rear spoiler and ESP, there were some serious accidents with the intial TT's. Unfortunately, even involving some fatalities, resulting in the TT occasionally being nicknamed 'Window-Maker' here in Germany. 😞

Have you noticed a diff in stability at freeway speeds? I hope to remove rear ballast on mine at some point, and they are giant Piper Cub wings...

I would say it does help in making the car feel stable at freeway speeds, especially when changing lanes! I doubt it would be as much of a difference as a more track focused wing would provide however. Thank you for the support!

I picked it up off ebay motors:) They had quite a few options for around $130 depending on the color/finish.

check on aliexpress there are spoilers for about 100€, the only thing you have to be careful of is the fitment... but for the price you can't complain since osir ones for exemple are +600€ 😅

I was initially worried about the rain too, but it's been raining pretty much every day this past month and it's holding on as strong as ever. So long as the tape cures properly it's not going anywhere. Let me know how you like it when you get it installed. I love how it changes the look of the car.

This wing is modeled after the wing from the OSIR body kit. This is a very expensive part if you get it from their website. If you arent opposed to ebay they have exact replicas for a much better price. That worked like a charm for me:)

That sounds like a great car! The spoiler can be found by looking up "OSIR style spoiler". They range a ton on price depending on where you get them from. Real OSIR branded spoilers are the most expensive, but the ebay ones use the same mold so they are also a solid buy. You can get them in different finishes too. Thanks for the support by the way!

I want a TT so badly😭😭 my step mom used to have a 8L A3 1.8t quattro (which js basically the same car except the interior and the shell) and that thing went square through corners! Man I miss that car (someone hit it from the side while it was standing still....)

I found the spoiler on ebay motors. Depending on how much you want spend you can get the authentic 3.2 spoiler made in carbon or get a matte black one. The spoiler originally comes from the OSIR body kit, but the replicas are great too. Thanks for the support!

I think you should use a contact sealant , not tape. especially if you own a high pressure washer to snow foam etc

@@HunterDirection Dont mean to be negative, just i used 3m tape for my reg plates and they did come lose . especpially the front one which is curved. Then went to sealant which is rock solid. Thats in the UK we have to have a reg in the front.

@@Jeff-cv4qn No worries, I didn't think you came off as negative. :) I completely agree about sealant being stronger. I chose the 3m tape because it came with the wing and I'll likely remove the wing when I wrap or paint the car. I'll be using sealant once I want it there forever.

Glad you like the spoiler! Yeah tiger seal is a better option for sure! I wen't with 3m for the time being since I'm gonna wrap or respray the car this summer. I'll use tiger seal when I want it to be permanent. Thanks for the support!:)

Why put a spoiler on Audi TT 8n? I have driven more than 205 thousands miles in it (330.000 km) in The Netherlands, and on the continent (Europe I have to say), and preferably in Germany. I have never experienced any trouble with overtaking trucks or what so ever. I'll keep my Audi TT 8n original.

Original 8n TTs are awesome! It's quite difficult to find one that didn't have the oem spoiler installed during audis factory recall of the platform. Sounds like a great car you have! As far as my personal car, I love the look of the carbon 3.2 extension I put on. Thanks for the support:)
