I like to ask questions that don't necessarily need an answer to the person directed to, but to all people in chat to answer. Even If I need to answer my own question to avoid awkward silences. I find it very useful to give chat an importance for their presence. Asking for help or what something is from chat is key. Never go full Dora the Explorer though.

Where is a good place to find the chat bot you mentioned or something similar? I would love a bot that chats with other users but googling twitch chat bots pretty much only results in "!command" bots.

I have a bunch of interesting questions set on timers that I answer then ask chat. Like what is your favorite outfit, vacation spot, desert, etc. I also throw in ones about the games I stream like what is your favorite character, class, weapon, etc. I also randomly do polls asking random conversation starting questions with interesting topics/themes. Frequent visitors/VIPs get personalized commands to introduce their self. Artists/streamers get special shout out commands to promote their channel. (Our community helps promote people to reach their goals.)

I had one viewer that completely changed The dynamic of my streams. I knew she was really good at keeping the conversation going, but I didn’t know that when she stopped going to my streams, everything would’ve changed. People don’t stop by and tell me that I seem like I’m going to become famous anymore. People don’t talk as much anymore. The morale is not as high. This person was just amazing how they would just show up and be themselves and just get everybody talking and feeling good. Wow! Sometimes it can just be one community member that changes everything

Appreciating the video, TwoShoes! I struggle a lot with this subject in particular, because while you want people chatting so it doesn't feel like you're spouting off into the abyss, lurkers are the backbone of every stream and you never want people to feel obliged to talk. I need to get especially better at conversation starters because I know there's a few that go from "chill vibes" to "I've got this pinboard with red string attaching everything I'M NOT CRAZY JUST GIVE ME TWO HOURS" and I'm never sure which one to lean into.

The 'Chat Addons' portion is great. In a way, it can also give the people that don't "chat", something to do. For example, the few programs that allow channel point integration, I use those to control various stupid filters and sounds on my streams. They enjoy that a lot, laughing when I get "caught in the act" making a stupid face, or something like that. It's great. The bot integrations like StreamElements or Streamlabs for the gambling, the predictions, chat can interact with several things, as well as watch what's going on.

As someone who currently has a smaller viewership but a lot of chatters, I just try my best to have fun and entertain and it works! I usually talk to viewers like they're my friends and it seems to really compel them to keep coming back. It's a lot of fun honestly, feels like a party every time I stream. I always find it rather odd when I get comments from viewers talking about how I'm one of the only people they see trying to actively read chat and participate in what's going on... like is that not the point? To me that's a bit shocking that there are apparently people out there that don't make that same effort when they're so small. Even when I play games that require a lot of my concentration I prioritize chat.

Oh yeah dude I hate when somebody is in the chat telling me everything to do in the game LOL. I have to start ignoring them and I do ask random questions to the chat to try and get things going. Because I do love having that game help. But when it becomes a two person conversation, it kind of shut everyone else out At the same time, I do I feel like people are getting annoyed that I keep asking random questions. I never really knew what that felt like until I jumped on a friends stream and she kept bringing up random topics and I felt like it was my responsibility to answer random questions to help out the streamer. Rather than actually feel engaged in real conversation that I wanted to be engaged in. In fact I really just wanted to play in the background and pop in every once in a while

Some of my channel point redeems are, take a random screenshot, or take a random video recording. Then you can also redeem points to view a random screenshot or view a random video recording. This has helped with some conversation starters, along with some of my other channel point redeems. Such as, review a random fast food item. That gets everybody chiming in with their own opinion and gets the conversation going lol It’s cool because you can get back to playing the game but you all are still thinking about things like that to talk about and it really breaks the ice

I DO NOT HAVE a starting soon screen. I tried it a couple times and I do not recommend it at all! If people get the notification that you are alive, why would they want to show up to a blank screen? I would say a good way to have a talkative chat is to not have that. If you are live, be live. Give Them a show from the beginning and engage. The people that are there from the beginning that you were saying to think them, they are the ones that don’t watch the stream and they are the ones that leave in 15 minutes every time

Hi! I'm the viewer Dan mentioned. Its username is TheSpagBot. It's a Markov Chain generator that reads chat and every 5 minutes, it will select a random word its seen and try to start a sentence with it. You can also call it manually and give it a word to try and start with. At first it only repeats posts from chat in their entirety, but as it reads chat, it can put together really silly phrases.

what's the ai bot you use in your chat? i've had a good google around and i can't find anything like that :O
@xTwoShoes3 жыл бұрын
It's a custom build from one of the viewers in chat! I think the code is available online somewhere but I don't really know how it works. We call him spagbot but that's not the official name :)

I don't know much about Python and programming. Could you make a video explaining how to install / program SpagBot? I really wanted to put it in my stream. Thank you so much, I loved you and your content!

I would love that but unfortunately it was made and is ran by a viewer and I have no idea about its programming! Im sure if you google something like Twitch chat learning bot, you may find something! We just named him Spagbot:). Also thank you for the kind words!
