Yuta is a fine character but I definitely prefer Yuji as the main character and just as a character overall. He's just much more interesting and engaging to read and watch

@@akzuuzumaki780 I don't see it that way, Yuji is a character that doesn't look like he's going to be a loud, shouting, or mischievous guy, he's a confident, optimistic guy who stands up for what's right and cares a lot. to friends, above all an admirable person, I gradually became more impressed with him as a person when watching anime and manga, even angry when he was isolated and left out for 100 chapters. He became my motivation to continue reading JJK, on the contrary, I was quite bored seeing Yuta appear a lot. Looking at a cool guy with a sharp personality is ok, but it will gradually get boring when he doesn't change much, and feels similar to other characters in the story.

I think the Yuji shouldn't be a main character is one of those things people said just for fun until it became a whole thing, even though I like Yuta more, he's my second favourite character in the whole series, I have to say that Yuji is the perfect main character for the series and it's themes above anyone else

@@xum0007He is the second most popular jjk character in japan. People (in japan) usually prefer the deuteragonist 🤷🏽‍♂️ bakugou is more popular than deku for example. Even Ichigo wasnt the most popular character in his manga

@@lemillion7929 I mean tbf Bleach just had so many good characters and for once Ichigo isnt the sole focu, thats why JJK even though doesnt have too many characters it does have different focus characters, not only Gojo popular but so was Geto and Toji

Yuji is simply written way better imo. Not saying Yuta is poorly written but I heard someone say its like comparing an isekai protagonist to Guts from berserk and I couldn't agree more. The reason why Yuta is no longer the main character is definitely because his character arc concluded at the end of JJK 0.

If you look at Gege Akutami past works you can see how their characters were tweaked and improving. You can say the same here, Gojo and Yuuta were the prototype to what Yuuji and JJK came to be. So youre not wrong, Yuuji is better for the story.

To me, Yuta is a great main character but is only great in JJK0, especially now that the development goal that Gege assigned him to become Gojo 2.0. If he becomes the main character, he will become an obstacle to JJK's plot direction - where the character has many chapters to appear as the main character. While the special points he has are just being more calculating, handsome and cool, these things make many people like them but are too bad to stand out enough for the role of the main character. Look at Saitama, Eren Yeager, he should at least have an impressive moral compass like Bald Mantle, have a real glow up and a coherently developed face like Mikasa's lover. Yuta is strong and cool, and in JJK there is no shortage of characters like him, a character with a descendant background. If Yuta has it, then Kishimoto or Gojo also has it. Although he still has the distinction of being ruthless enough, having a high IQ, and being opportunistic, it's not relevant or lasting enough to justify him being the center of the story. Moreover, if you look back, Yuta is not much different from Ichigo, Luffy, Natsu and any other main character with a descendant background in other anime. On the contrary, Yuji is a great main character for JJK, while very impressive but would also quickly get boring in another anime. When JJK 0 came out, many people compared Yuji to his Yuta-senpai and thought he was too simple and somewhat similar to Ichigo. However, when looking back at JJK's entire anime/manga. Yuji's development path to the end is still unlike anyone else's, let alone Ichigo's. This is truly one of the most unique main characters in modern shonen in recent years that I've read. The way he comes to the world of Jujutsu is very strange, he becomes a tool, an isolated character but acts as a lens to introduce society and people in the world of jujutsu, and his arrival As for the jujutsu profession, he has no noble wishes, he is altruistic, but his purpose in joining is only two: to swallow Sukuna whole and to save and wish for a worthy death. The entire character of Yuji Itadori is like a reversal of Ichigo but has a very complex nature inside the classic guise. This makes Yuji better than Yuta, as he has more personal development goals while Yuta, despite having complete development, in JJK 1 this became separate from the prequel and caused him to lose somewhat personal in the destination of becoming Gojo 2.0. As for Yuji, his power development is not perfect and is underestimated.However, Yuji is still built quite well, even very well when his psychological and emotional changes take place completely, his personality development, relationships with other characters including the main character. and the villain are both great. He may be the rare character I appreciate as he supports one character after another when they shine, those characters can explode and prove to be the main challenger to the opponent. with opponents, but they wouldn't be as great and solid without Yuji as we can clearly see his impact on enemies and teammates. And he's even more impressive when dueling other characters, regardless of whether they're stronger or weaker. By being an unremarkable but very outstanding person, Yuji deserves to be the main character of the entire JJK more than Yuta

good video and I overall agree, but I really disagree on the Maki stuff. half the fandom hating her isn’t a reason to not develop her more/focus on her more- it’s an issue with virtually *all* female characters in anime. people are going to hate on female characters simply for being female characters. and I think we could see A LOT more of her and her story, and the lack of her in recent chapters really feels like a missed opportunity.
