Yunho and San are the most gifted at Japanese/languages generally. It's honestly impressive, he's basically functional in Japanese (I'm Japanese and think he can function pretty well without a translator). He has a bit of an accent but doesn't struggle with "zu" and "tsu" either (often 'zhu' and 'chu' for Korean speakers)

Yunho definitely has a unique handwriting lmaoo but recently it has really improved so well actually, we’ve been struggling a lot while trying to read it in the past but now it seems more easier and clearer

To the untrained eye reading Yunho’s handwriting looks fine because I remember, before I started learning Korean, the members would say his handwriting was terrible and I would just think that it looked like everything else that was in Korean. Then I started learning and finally looked back at his handwriting and now I’m like “oh my god it’s terrible” 😭😭😭

I love these videos you do - as international fans, there's so many little nuances and details about our favorite idols that completely go over our heads just because we don't know Korean. Subtitles can never teach us dialects, intonations, tones, formalities, and other subtle social implications communicated through language alone. Fun fact about Yunho and Mingi’s relationship. One of them once said their parents thought they were dating because of how close they are as friends 😂 I find this surprising cuz Korean male friends look close as a default but yunho and mingi were THAT CLOSE that their parents thought they were something more 😭😭😭 They are really great friends and they are a great pair to help each other when they are in need, it’s destiny 🩷😊

Your descriptions of the members’ ways of speaking are always spot on! Yunho’s definitely one of the easiest to understand, and it makes me happy you gave him high praise for it. He does have such an amazing professional speaking voice. It’s always a joy to see him host, whether it’s for events or the group’s variety content. I love that you point out his sense of humor. If Seonghwa, one of the funniest members of the group, is saying Yunho is the funniest member, then you know he’s hilarious. 🤣 It took me by surprise when getting to know him, along with just how insanely good he is at virtually everything. I guess that’s why his handwriting reputation is a bit legendary among ATINY. 🤣 While many think he has the most illegible handwriting of the group, I think it’s actually only the second most difficult to read, and you perfectly illustrate why. My experience reading his writing is a back-and-forth of clarity and confusion. When the characters glide into each other or are incomplete, I just have to sigh. 😂 If you didn’t tell us, I don’t know when I would’ve ever figured out it said 들고 in that excerpt from the second letter. 😩 But the legibility of Yunho’s handwriting not quite matching his clarity of speech definitely adds to his charm. 😂😅💖

Yunho is always lovely to listen to. He always sounds like he has thought through whatever he is going to say when he comes onto a live with Atiny. Even when he teases us about making him jealous or the very very rare times when you can hear him get a little annoyed, his voice continues to be clear, not slow, but slower, and thoughtful-sounding. He usually comes onto a live around 4 or 5 in the morning my time, sometimes 1am, but it is earlier than it used to be. So most of the time when he comes onto a live, I cuddle under the blankets, bring up the live on the tablet, then just let him talk. I don't try to follow the conversation. I hear some words that I know, but his voice is so soothing, in a similar way to San and Seonghwa's voices, that it helps me to sleep. I do miss when he used to come onto lives very regularly at right about 7am on Thursday mornings (my time). It was always good incentive to get up on time, get all the cat chores done while he chatted, and then he wrapped up and I got ready for work. Yunho has said in the past that he mostly wants to keep that happy, funny personality up front for members and Atiny to see. He keeps his less pleasant emotions behind closed doors. I always love seeing him with Mingi, though. You can see his face soften when he watches Mingi, and you can see just how deeply he loves his friend. I've seen a few clips where I'm pretty sure he was a little annoyed with something Mingi had done, but he was so careful to keep that under wraps, and watching clips of them talking, you can see that they do have a VERY communicative friendship. Even when one or the other gets upset, it's gone very quickly, and there aren't residual nuances to voice or face that say there's simmering resentment, so they definitely talk about a lot of things. One of the more recent clips, Yunho said he would like to see Mingi regaining some of the more innocent and spontaneous happiness that he (Mingi) used to have. Mingi laughed, but you could also see some of the wheels starting to turn as that comment percolated through. The phrasing was so careful and so thoughtful. Yunho never said Mingi wasn't happy or was faking his happiness, but just commented that he wished to see more spontaneous and innocent joy. (My next thought was that when they have some time off, I would bet that Mingi and Yunho may go off and have some play time at whatever they like best. Like San adores amusement parks, Seonghwa could spend days shopping for Legos, Yunho and Mingi have stuff that they like to do together too, so I would bet that they go do that. Mingi likes going to quiet resorts when he can, so maybe they will go do that.)

He would’ve made a good anchor news or radio mc if he weren’t an idol. He has a natural warm and sweet voice and you can really hear that much more when he sings but when he speaks he tends to switch as you’ve said in the video. I kinda already noticed this in his voice and way of speaking and now I really get why he gets requested as an mc by radio shows like idol radio or by music shows, he really has a good and clear dictation and pronunciation which are important qualities to be an mc.

I hope you never stop with these types of videos and thank you for teaching in such a fun way! :) also, a possible video idea/request: breakdown of some popular kpop song lyrics? I usually learn from song lyrics, but end up with a bunch of questions due to some words or endings. I think if you do decide to go for this content suggestion, the song Skipping Stones by TXT would be a good start! The reason I say this is because the member soobin had mentioned that the lyrics are quite poetic and really emphasised that no matter how much it's translated, the genuine sincerity or meaning would be difficult to translate. but there are so many songs with deep meanings and complicated lyrics so I'd be so grateful if you considered this! :D

Ive self studied korean off and on (mostly off) since 2011, and though I got pretty good at reading hangul typed/printed, i still cannot for the life of me read korean handwriting unless someone writes like a printer lol

Learning stroke order can help with that. If you can read stroke order, you can recognize letters that look nothing like they do on a computer. But it still takes a lot of exposure and time.
