Wow, so many counter intuitive tools in logic. It's such a powerful software!! Thank you for this!! I have been avoiding flextime since I have never been able to get it to work predictably!

Not sure if you meant "counter intuitive," to me, it's more that the tools in Logic go very deep, and like any production-grade software, it takes time to figure it all out and decide what is useful to you and your workflow.

Another great video in this brilliant series. "Sped down" though! As a Brit I'm willing allow for the American vernacular but really! Remember you can always fix in post though. Joking aside this series is absolutely fantastic for learning Logic.

Hi, I have a question. Why, when quantizing audio, the q-range parameter works with positive values, but does not work with negative ones, more precisely, it works, but does the same thing as with positive ones. Everything is fine with midi, with positive values, notes in the range are quantized, and with negative values, notes outside the range are quantized.

Love all the videos man, super helpful! One question on flex time - can you share some insight on how to NOT have your audio warped or garbled or sound off from the original performance when using flex time? I use flex time a lot on guitar to clean up timing and many times it always negatively affects the audio sound of the guitar - I use monophonic typically. I also noticed that the ability to adjust sensitivity to transients is gone which requires annoying clean up of flex markers and quantization in areas you wouldn’t have quantized. Any tips or suggestions greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Wow. You mean I can be a better bass player through DAW fanciness as opposed to dexterity in my fingers? Sign me up.

Every time I use flex it destroys my audio. Does anyone know why? It’s like it becomes a 3rd or 4th generation mp3. Using a 2020 MacBook with M1 chip

Unfortunately, unless you're using the slicing, monophonic or speed algorithm, this is normal. Logic is still way behind Ableton when it comes to quality speed/pitch manipulation. However, make sure you record at 96k or higher to reduce artifacts.

Make sure you’re putting set markers on either side of your edit marker. If you just put single flex markers and drag it moves everything in front and behind it

@@user-vz3uf8us7fstem separation has a long way to go before we fear AI taking over for sure It matters the quality of the track your seperating from in my own experience if Im using a ripped off KZbin audio it’s not as good as a higher quality audio Also I noticed the more complex the song it has a hard time differentiating bass parts from like a synth when you have a lot going on when I separate some simpler stuff it is a lot higher quality
