My giant 250+ tracks project failed to open. It worked in the morning and when I came back few hours later it couldn’t open. I asked in Facebook groups, forums, official Apple community and nobody’s help was effective. Then I contacted Chris and found out that even though using this method from this video everything is working, it’s probably a plugin failure. I couldn’t believe it and in the meantime I reinstalled Logic. It worked when I opened it, so how? Then I decided to remove all the plugins from the session and it opened. It actually was a plugin failure. I removed plugins from one manufacturer, then the other to find the broken one. When I found it and started looking for the broken instance, removing one by one. I removed the broken one and it opened. This guy knows what he’s doing and this video and his help just saved my ass, when several others on groups and official forums couldn’t. Thanks a lot and I instantly subbed this channel!

I had a corrupt project and was able to create a new project in like 10 seconds when I was considering taking notes of all the tracks in the corrupt file and manually bringing everything in...the hard way. Thank you so much for teaching about this!

Great video - really helped me import a vocal template into an instrument track. Thanks so much 👊🏼Chris.

Amazing video. Thanks! Quick question. How do you make sure the audio files your importing land on the correct track on your template? I can see Logic creates a new Kick track under all your template tracks, but you want it to land on the actual Kick track inside the template...

Thanks for the video! I’m struggling to figure out how to quickly add audio tracks that I’ve been sent to mix into a mix template. Is there any easier way then dragging and dropping each individual file into the correct track? I have tracks created and stacks created for different instrument groups and sends and what not so I just need the files to go where I need them to go. Wondering what the best options are. Thanks!

I never knew about this feature until this video. Damn. You just saved me a lot of work. Currently working on a mix for a client which ended up being two separate project files. So, this helps dramatically!! Thank you

Great video!- question however. How does Logic know where to automatically put the region? Do the track have to be named exactly the same?

Another magical tut... Strangely enough, I am just about to start a remix and have been sent a complete project file from the artist which I wanted to import into my own mix template, so this comes at the perfect time. Thanks again for reading my mind and sharing your expertise. P.S. I agree Logic Pro is definitely THE BEST DAW on the market. I just Love it to bits and now even more.

Great video. I know it's old L) anyway, if you read this, How can I import files from another Logic project WITHOUT tempo data? only SMPTE data for position. Sometimes I send a rough mix to a musician for them to overdub a part. They almost never input the correct tempo into their session before starting to record, so when I get the session back and try to import their tracks, the wrong tempo data is imported with it. Any thoughts?

Really enjoying your tutorials . Thank you. Can you help please.. at 5.48 you say it imports audio to the exact spot it was in the other project. I have done this. But it loses the edit information on that. File. E.g. I used three different bits of guitar to replace a section that was out of time but to make it feel natural by not repeating . The three files are in the right place. But the data about how I shortened each region to fit has been lost and I have to re edit the whole thing. Any ideas why this is so.

Hi, thanks for the video, but it doesn’t work if I try to replace a Track Stack (just the plugins, send, I/O) from a previous project’s Track Stack. Replace button is there, but remains gray. Any idea?

I just imported a bunch of buses from a client project into my mix template and its screwed up all my existing I/O bus labeling/routing. I left the "Keep Bus Numbers" column checkbox unchecked. Do you know how to import tracks without it affecting my existing bus numbering / labels?

What a superb tutorial! Thank you! I'm curious how you set up a drum crush AUX and avoid flamming. I have found parallel compression within Logic to be hit or miss as to when Logic keeps the correct delay compensation.

Hi. I see that in this tutorial you have imported the audio, the plugins, their stack structure, their sends etc, but I also see that they were, in fact, added to the bottom of the list as new tracks and new track stacks; underneath, as it were, everything already in place in your destination template. I'm unclear, therefore, what purpose, in this example, the destination template is serving. Am I missing a trick? It looks like you would have your ideal 'go to' template structure be ignored by all the new stuff you've now added. Thanks if you can help!! Pete

@muddyruckus3 жыл бұрын
Great video! Love your channel. Question, if you import a track with regions that have different "gain adjustments" on each region, will the import retain those gain adjustments in each region (which is presently viewed in the track info where I made the gain tweaks)?
@muddyruckus3 жыл бұрын
Or will it set them all back to zero? I'm hoping the region gain adjustments will be retained

Great video! Say for example you have x amount of raw tracks, and you want to apply a template to it - how would you go about that? In this video, you brought in all your tracks to your template, but the drums didn't go to your already existing drum tracks in the project; it just made tracks. Does this make sense? hah

When I'm importing the from my tracking session, nothing is lining up properly and cuts are being made to the files. Any one have this issue and have a work around?
@noflyzone94966 жыл бұрын
Hello can you explain how you get those pink names (for example BASS AC AXES LDS) Love the workflow!
@WhyLogicProRules6 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! I will select a group of tracks by Command-clicking each. For example, if I have 5 drum tracks, I'll select all 5. Then I use key command Command-Shift-D to create a Track Stack. Track Stacks create a handy folder and route all the tracks to the same bus (which is the input of the Track Stack). Then I'll select the Track Stack on the Arrange Page or in the Mixer. Use key command Option-C to open the Color Palette, and select the color of your choice :)

Nice editorial. I did notice though that the project imports to beginning of timeline, not at marker position as I intended. Plus all the existing markers are destroyed. Oh and when a project is set up as a package, importing cannot find any audio files and a new path cannot be located.
@WhyLogicProRules6 жыл бұрын
Thanks rickhorvath! Logic's Project import, in my experience, places the Audio on the timeline based on where it was placed in the Project you're importing from. So if my audio is at Bar 100 in the original Project, it'll be imported at Bar 100 in the new Project. If you decide to import Markers from a different Project, Logic will replace your Marker lane with the import. If packages aren't working for you with Import, I suggest saving a new separate version of your Project as a folder. I never save with packages.

It’s good to add a new one for live shows so that you can run each song back to back
