Your mesh usually tp link extender ssid has ext at the end. Can I change the ssid to the same ssid as my router for it to work as a mesh as you explained without changing ssid manually or do I need to change a configuration on my router? Please let me know I’m kinda confused and I’m new to this

hi. If you have a wifi range extender changing the SSID to the same as the router might work. Never test it to be fair but I do not recommend doing this because of one good reason. You as a client moving around the house could be still connected to the router that is far away even when you stand next to the wifi extender. so you will never be connected to the strongest wifi signal automatically and because the router and extender have the same SSID you cant manually switch to the strongest one. My recommendation: replace your router with wifi 6 router [many reasons for that] and if you really need it use wifi MESH. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iJqqqqyFqtV7eqc

yes, you can but you will not get any benefits. Your router should cover the apartment without any problems. What are you trying to achieve?

I cannot seem to find “mesh wifi range extender” in this model. All are pointing to “wifi range extender “ including your link.

It depends on your router. I have a TP RE 550 and it can acts as a mesh with some routers but not mine. The trouble with the RE550 is it is buggy so doesn't function as one would expect. It replicates wrong Mac address thus two or more devices have same Mac - the network is unstable.

Netgear Nighthawk X6S EX8000: This Wi-Fi extender has a range of up to 12,000 square feet and can support up to 50 devices simultaneously. Linksys RE9000 AC3000: This Wi-Fi extender has a range of up to 10,000 square feet and can support up to 25 devices simultaneously. Please note that these are just suggestions and the actual range may vary depending on your specific environment. You might be better off with 2-3 devices from my video and connect them in mesh
