It really hasn’t even changed… it’s always been a slang term for past participial of awake, just used to be to the injustices black people face and now means any and all even slight appearance or twisting of social justice. The proper word in English is actually awoken, but it’s the same as “enlightened” or “freedom fighter”, it’s a term that people who aren’t the thing claim to be. You’re not “enlightened” because you think the earths flat for example, but a flat earther will tell you he’s enlightened. You’re also not “awoken” or “woke” if you think we should be pitting biological males against females in a boxing ring, or have open borders supercharging trafficking, or a million other examples.

What a stupid and ignorant observation by you… 1. He clarified he was not criticising the charity given at the time. Most Africans actually would like to see this ‘aid’ end. 3. Charity today is not as pious and virtuous as you would believe. These charities are really running businesses. Ok, Let me get this straight. The guy saying that in the 80's when the aid was given by western nations it was good because the situation was dire but now there needs to be a different approach that is more respectful and focused on lifting up the native culture there when it comes to outside help. Which if that is the case, I fully agree. That said, I cannot help but think, Why isn't the same being said about those who are speaking out in England who are watching their culture vanish with the amount of immigration in a short period of time by their own leaders? When those from England voice concern and dissent, They're condemned and today even silenced and jailed for simply being worried about losing their culture. Sorry but there is an undeniable pattern as of late that on one hand all are supposed to honor and respect the cultures of particular people and places, Unless it is the bulk of western nations, Who mind you have had an ongoing track record of being more inclusive than many others. There is definitely a double standard.
