This one kinda hurts. The voice acting is good enough, there is a constructed narrative, and they went through the effort of preventing out of bounds as much as possible. It feels like they were really trying their hardest but either over anticipated how easy it would be, how much it would cost, how long it would take or some combination of those factors. I unironically would have been interested to see what episode 3 would be or what their idea for the colony woulda been

You know what, these developers (or developer) may lack the technical expertise to really polish a game, but like. They seem to have implemented not just stereotypical game design tropes like finding keycards or powering up a generator, but they have some good things too. Like using a radio message that the player has to track down using their hearing, or, seeing a massive cool building in the distance to guide you after some exploring. Having a relatively clear open area where you can see a dead body and something on the ground next to it to draw you in to explore. It's janky but I actually hope the developer(s) learned a lot and can make more games.
@dangerszewski9816 Жыл бұрын
this is a great point, the level design and atmospheric/passive storytelling through item placement and visual design are really really well done, showing a level of maturity and care that a lot of professional designers lack, and done using bought asset packs no less, no ability to call the art team and say "I need an intersection floor texture that tells the players to go this direction" or "I need something that looks similar to our door switches but lights up to draw player attention".

I love this series and I genuinely love that you can see there's a real attempt at something here - like there was definitely thought put into aspects of this. Most of the successful development seemed to go into the story and concept and characterization of the player character than anything else, but It shows promise! They took a concept and put effort into trying something. It didn't work out as intended, and is only sort of functional, but it's a start with a better foundation than most of the other games I've seen so far in this series :] It's nice, and his felt like a very fair showcase of the game and features you found interesting and what needed more work. I hope the developer, if they're still active, finds this useful because I do think there's definitely room for a game with a plot like this - it just needs work.

@olivercharles2930 now it's been awhile since I watched this video so I might be miss remembering some things but don't think this game was that bad. I'm not saying this is the greatest game of all time and everyone should go out and buy it, but it didn't have floating assets, constant crashing or just broken features. It seemed playable from point A to B, had a decent gameplay loop and passable story and lore. The only major bug I remember is when the dinosaur knocked Wiz through the door causing a sequence break that got him stuck. This is a hard bug to find though as it requires a very specific circumstance to occur, so even if a huge QA team were testing this, it might have gone unnoticed. So I don't think this game is a dumpster fire. It's decent, not good and not great. Especially compared to the buggy asset flips with text to speech voice acting that seems to be the standard for this series

A bit late to the channel but loving what you're doing so far Wiz! Most of the games you play are... questionable to say the least. But out of what I've seen so far, this one definitely has some genuine commitment to it. It's completely obvious that someone (or persons) had a passion and tried to do the best of their ability (and budget) to make it happen. I wish the best to the developer of this game, and I wish the best for you! You got a subscribe from me that's for sure. (edit) And I must say, the voice acting in this game is far beyond what I expected of a indie game of this kind (Thats if it isn't AI, sometimes its hard to tell nowadays), cheers to the VA's too. I'm actually glad some KZbinrs are willing to go into the depths of indie games on steam, sometimes getting some attention will be enough for them to try harder... and you never know, they might improve and create a great game one day.... or they might just continue to scam you and try to use your PC as a crypto miner... I guess its the way it goes

I love how they tried to capture the feeling of Jurassic Park with the design of the dinosaurs and the sounds they make. The raptors even sound like the JP raptors but pitched way up

The fact that I'm doing my uni work for physics and wiz says, "haha, physics" made it feel all too real

You're pumping out content in an insane rate! Don't burn yourself out! Also: are you going to review a 2D game some time aswell? I know that 3D games are just way easier to mess up and stuff but I hope that we soon get video about a 2D game.

weird how the passengers on the plane first were sitting hunched over like waiting for the plane to stop for a toilet break, and then did the same moves in sync

I remember seeing game play of this game back in 2017, only saw the episode 1 and remember wanting to play it so much

Honestly if this guy had more funding and more time he probably could have made a really good game, you can already see the bones of something great

Definitely! It looks janky (in a way that is kinda fun) but an attempt has really been made at making an interesting story

I mean... yeah... at least there was thought put into this game. It's not just a lame asset flip. Someone had a story to tell, and told it.

I am amazed that you played the whole game without shooting a single Red Barrel to see if they explode! That's some self control right there. 😂 In all seriousness this game really as some potential, I'd love for a AAA Dev to acquire this and make a real feature length game! 👍👍

This has so much potential. I hope the pushing forces behind this game get their shot at working on something with a full budget and a dedicated team. The voice acting is very good for what the game is. The physics are worlds above what similar projects have. The story is thought out, if a little spazzy. The love was there. I would absolutely play this, and be down to give anything else these guys made an honest shot.

I promise, this has my full attention. I'm as invested in what is going on as you. And it's pretty awesome for such an unpolished game. Vision was executed

Seems like Trespasser has inspired more games than just Half-Life 2. Trespasser also had a town that you theoretically needed a passcode for unless you found another way in and a bunch of color coded keycards.

The devs effort is on full display. Not the best game ive seen. But in all honesty, it's got more soul than most AAA games these days.

damn, this was actually a really wild trip, and this game do seems like a bunch of awesome ideas kind of poorly executed, but that actually got made to at least work, really, REALLY cool imo.
