@chadpeterson56983 жыл бұрын
The closest we get to darkness from Disney animation nowadays is when the villain does something really evil for Disney animated villain standards and even then that's mainly in TV shows for example Zhan Tiri's whole character, Shuriki killing Elena's parents, Ash Delgado turns on her family, and Makucha's genocidal desire to take over the Tree of Life only to kill and eat every living being there.

I honestly think that the Black Cauldron is good, though that might be because I watched it at a young age and didn't really think much, but I did think that Gurgi was my favorite character. And well after reading the books, I can say that maybe they could've done the story a bit different where it can some what be like the original story of the books but with the Disney twist to it. But I am pretty sure that the major reason why Black Cauldron didn't do well, was because it was seen as a dark movie at the time with the themes it was going through. But still I like the movie and I would actually like to see Disney retry it but with newer animation, as well as see about fixing some things here and there. Oh, and the movie did have its comedic moments. But still it would be good if they tried a reboot, though I wonder if anyone from Disney actually remembers it.

the big deal on Flewden role is on the Morva Witches on the last minute, because he is the one who makes a stand on them and triggers them to make a deal so it´s a payback on the trickery they did them before about the Black Cauldron, so it´s not brought back freely and they were forced on to bring back Gurgi to life and from within the Cauldron to show their true power. It was a hit back on their pride and annoyed them, but couldn´t harm them for the payback and the defyiance challenge to their power. which wasn´t a lame thing on them. Flewden make the stand and challenge to the witches who just wanted to have advantage on the situation on the Cauldron, but he made them not to have it freely, and it was a very wise challenge back on them. The witches were dangerous and revengefull, but he managed to set them into a way which they couldn´t refuse and ought to do the challenge no matter how hard it was and that it was a low-hit to their pride specially to the leading witch. So it was a great big deal on him to do at last, and not little thing although it doesn´t seems easily on what he did then. So he wasn´t so useless, but to know that the audience ought to pay more attention to the witches role before that, to read how all was a total payback of the trickery they did them before and a more even legal fair one than which they did before, furtherly mostly very improvised on the very last moment, whereas the witches planned on stealthly their first dealing about the Cauldron, so Flweden challenge was even more bold and brave sudden daring on the moment - by that moment his formerly useless character finally shine up and grew on importance, people tend to forget this... but HE WAS IMPORTANT to bring Gurgi back and the true happy ending and the witches got a payback on her own!

One of my guilty pleasures has got to be the black cauldron

Why would it be a guilty pleasure? It's way better than all the modern Disney movies.

@@davidstokes106 Absolutely not. If even Disney themselves would rather forget the Black Cauldron ever existed then you know how terrible it is. This was the film that gave them major financial issues.

In my opinion, my ranking will be: 1. Oliver and Company 2. Robin Hood 3. The Aristocats 4. The Fox and the Hound 5. The Great Mouse Detective 6. The Rescuers I have still yet to watch *The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh* and *The Black Cauldron* so I am in no position to rank them as of now.

Every single one of these movies has at least one talking animal. If you consider Gurgi to be an animal, that is (I don't even know WHAT he is). A few of them have ONLY talking animals, with few or zero human characters. The Great Mouse Detective has a tiny fraction where we hear Sherlock and Watson talk, but I don't really count that.

Hopefully if the Search for Mickey Mouse does happen for Mickey Mouse’s 100th birthday, these films will be touched upon again

FunFact, Robin Hood was the only Bronze/Dark Age film as a kid.
