Wicked awesome seeing my home town of Oriental again. I wish I had known earlier that you were going to stop there so I could have hooked you guys up with my friends. Maybe on the way back in the Spring/Summer? I laughed when Kate was using the dry shampoo hair spray to "look like land people." :) Please keep filming!

Thanks Drake! Oriental was amazing either way the guys down there at the marine store were very cruiser friendly and even offered free bikes. Definitely want to visit there again. Much more to come!

Wicked Salty The people of Oriental are great. All of the shops are friendly. You are absolutly correct about "The Bean" really great coffee. You have to try the chocolate muffin heated with butter, it is to die for. "Sugar Magnolia" isn't far either coming south on the ICW take a right at marker 175 and that is her home on Brown Creek. Wishing y'all fair winds and calm seas.

Wicked Salty Spent many happy days sailing Oriental and Bogue Sound as a teenager with my Dad. All we had was a little day sailor but man that thing would fly in that wind! We refused to come off the water unless absolutely necessary.

Congratulations on your epic navigation of the Isle of Palms section of the ICW. Im sure you enjoyed Elliot's Cut also. Another very tricky and challenging piece of navigation. It was great to hear you say "when I do this trip again". You seem to really be starting to grasp the responsibility and maturity of a captain. And how to enjoy, adapt to the lifestyle of cruising. I wish I had started when I was young. And three cheers to your young friend. I am really enjoying your work and take care of your partner. Ladies like her are very few and far between. Your a very lucky man.

You both are AWSOME !! I became a subscriber few weeks ago totally entertained with your adventure. I live in St. Augustine florida just so happen to grab a sub for lunch at Flagler beach palm coast florida on a rainy afternoon. I see a s/v approach the bridge in ICW and it was you!!!! Had the chance say hello & wave to you both made my day!

Awesome you two ran into Sally. I met Sally about a month prior in Beaufort, NC. She rowed over to our dock in her Walker Bay and we talked about her Ericson (I'd previously owned a 30+).

Have to agree with you on Oriental. My last trip down the ICW we ran into some engine problems. We went to Deaton Yacht Service and stayed 3 days. Never have I gotten so much maintenance done in so little time. Everythimg was first rate, and eveyone was so nice we wondered if it was something in the water.

Thanks for the videos youre making. Im looking for a similar size boat. Been sailing in my young days, and want to do it again. Shivers. Sally's boat brought back some BAD memories. You know on the older Ericson's, they glassed in the wiring? Tried troubleshooting a bow light from the box, followed it, and bam. Right into glass. WHY!?!?!?!? Was her's a diesel or gas? I hated my Atomic 4. Never would do gas again regardless of how nice the boat was. Good update.
@marciestenmark46648 жыл бұрын
I loved my atomic 4 from a reliability and ease of maintenance standpoint, but yeah being gas, keep the fans blowing and remove the cowling to be safe during start up :)

I like all your videos..but I have a comment on the way you're filming..almost half of the videos You are talking while the camera close to your face..even your girl was trying to get into the picture and you wouldn't care..!! You can talk and explain like you do but turn the camera around not always close to your face..I do not even remember how is your boat looks like on the inside ..please do not take this personal but we like to see around ..you are not reading the news.
