llary i know the feeling! my recommendation if you want to get better at your instrument quite quickly: choose the right repertoire. by that i mean: you gotta plan which pieces will be difficult for you but not impossible. let's say you're having trouble with trills, then choose pieces with lots of trills. it'll make you practice trills and also learn a new piece to add to your repertoire (i find it very enjoyable to practice measures in a piece and not mostly drills practice to improve my technique.) i know you didn't ask for this advice but i wanted to comment it anyway :)

I thought to myself that I would never be able to play this, three months later I finished learning the piece (Though I may say I squeak on harmonics and can not play it up to speed yet haha) but half of playing the violin is believing you can and confidence. Once you look at this piece and realize a lot of this is just repeated patterns of moving your fingers up in an octave motion you will nail this. One of my favorite piece to ever play!
@buxeessingh25712 жыл бұрын
Exactly. Once you know what your left hand is doing, it just becomes a matter of repetition and speed. I took twice as long as you did, though.

The question is whether the intonation is pristine and that is when it really becomes difficult.....
@rykehuss3435 Жыл бұрын
Next learn how to play this with good intonation and the right tempo. Love how you are all like "it took me 3 months to play this" , when "playing this" means not total ear rape, but still ear rape. There are virtuosos out there who practice this piece for years to actually make it sound good. For you to think you are at their level just speaks to the level of your hearing. If you cant hear how shit you are, you must be horrible violinists. You must be deaf, thats the only explanation. Or you dont bother listening to yourselves play

Heifetz, Perlman and so many others greats I’ve heard play this piece plays it too fast for my ears. Whoever plays in this recording plays it perfectly IMO. Pianist plays accompaniment perfectly as well. I’d like to guess Li Chuanyun and Koenig on piano but it doesn’t sound like any of Mr. Li’s violins.

feeder main we had to play pieces without a known composer. One year I got to choose though. Even the dance of the goblins can't make up for 5 years of "twinkle twinkle".

search Robert Spring playing this song. He's awesome. This song is hard, but I surprisingly can play some of it up to tempo.(on the clarinet)
