I 32M am trying to get my thoughts together to ask questions from my ex 30F who’s been trying to get back into my life, why she cheated the hole 8 years of our relationship.
There is zero chance of reconciliation. We have 2 children ages 6 and 8. We have been split for 4 years and I haven’t been able to get past it. I’ve done therapy, I’ve tried dating, I’ve been going to the gym, I’ve been focusing on me and my children. I’m financially stable with a job I love and enjoy. Overall life is good. but I cannot get over what she has done which has ruined any chance for me with potential partners. Anyway. Why I am here is because she has been reaching out telling me how awful her life is with her partner who’s she’s been with one week after I left her. They have 2 children together. And she’s been talking about leaving him.
Story 1:
She committed Infidelity for 8 years. I’m Looking for closure. Need advice.
Story 2:
I finally asked her to stop texting me and made an exit. I did it, people.
Story 3:
UPDATED: Cheated, abused and the spiral never ends

This might be a little long but here goes, this guy I knew awhile back was dating this chic for little over 5 yrs he proposed to her as well. Anyway he had to do some work seminar/training outside of the state for about 3 weeks, he had a buddy of his check in on his gf to make sure she was safe or if she needed anything. Anyways his buddy drove by and there was a rando car in the driveway and when he got back he said he knew she slept with some dude in his bed, so as he stated "she wanted to be a hoe so I treated her like a hoe". And he said "he would screw her like a porn star" and he did some twisted shit. After he kicked her to the curb there was times he would tell her "yeah we could work it out" but then used her and kicked her out again. Dude was funny af.

@Alex the Angel you're right but if no one ever goes to the police nothing will ever change. The only reason that women who were taken advantage of in an intoxicated state are counted as rape now, is because some were strong enough to press charges. Rape culture will only truely end when both male and female victims press charges, are validated by society and in the best case the perpretrators are convicted. Rapists and rape apologists are trying to turn this into a gender issue. If we can stand by male rape victims, we can show that this is not a gender issue but a rape issue. Many men don't even realize they were raped.

Last Story: I dated a woman that wouldn't take "No" for an answer. We had an extremely vigorous sex life, especially considering we were in our early 20's. But I was also working a lot and was into serious strength training. Meaning I was really sore and tired fairly frequently. My girlfriend would suddenly jump on me in my sleep, and I would be groggy and out of it, telling her to stop, but she wouldn't. I did always end up enjoying it, and I wasn't emotionally. traumatized, but it did piss me off. So I get where OP is coming from. The second-guessing when desire and sanity go to war. Self-doubt kicks in pretty hard... did I really drink to control my emotions, or was I subconsciously getting trashed to excuse a decision I knew I wanted to make? Was I really as opposed to it as I told myself I was? These are the kinds of self-talk a man often engages in after being forced like this. None of that matters, though. Whether there's conflict or even desire, a "No" is still a "No".

This is almost exactly what happened to me too. I was in a verbally and manipulative relationship a few years back. She berated me if things didn’t go her way, gave the hot and cold, double standards, and gaslighting. I didn’t have long hour work shifts, but I did work out and was always mentally drained by walking on eggshells and holding my ground. She always wanted intercourse almost aggressively, every single day. Again I would give her excuses, say I was tired or wasn’t feeling it, but she never listened and continued to forced it. It surprisingly wasn’t emotionally traumatizing, at least I don’t think it was, but this neglect for my boundaries for her selfishness translated into frustration. But I had enough. She moved on to date some millionaire, and has been taking care of 2 kids. Not sure if they’re still together and if quarantine affected their life, but I’m over entertaining any curiosities. To a certain degree it changed my outlook on relationships and the level at which I share my vulnerabilities, but I’m doing a whole lot better now. For my maturity, self growth, and success.

Thelronwil and Andrew Nyugen if I may ask. What you describe sounds like rape in a relationship for me. However you both say you weren't emotionally traumatized. Of course I am not in your shoes and therefore have no inkling of your experience but it seems unreal to me that there were no emotional scars. Please just ignore me if this is to invasive but have you ever seen a therapists? Gender stereotypes are often so important to ones identity that people do not accept when their experiences are in conflict with their sense of self. However of course its your experience and you are the only ones who know the truth.

Early on my pops taught me and my siblings that kindness is a strength but can also be a weakness, if you do not set boundaries and limits in your life you will not be able to control which side of the fence that ends upon. Be kind but not naive, but aware but not overly cautious to the point that you are afraid, risk is not bad recklessness is. It's okay to trust but not blindly, mistakes that some of these guys have made, God help me.

@shirin9452
@shirin9452 3 жыл бұрын
Thinking about it, I feel he can’t accept how terrible she is. I get it, no one would want to believe that the person they loved was literally not worth their love. As you can see, he talks about what she does and how she hurt him but never says YOU FREAKIN’ SUCK you selfish bitch lose my number etc etc. In a way he wants her to give him an actual reason so he doesn’t have to truly hate her. I remember when I was telling my first love and best friend how he hurt me with his decisions, I told him what he did but all I wanted was for him to be able to say something that would make me understand so I wouldn’t HAVE to accept that he was not the person I fell in love with. I was lucky, I got closure and my ex admitted he still loves me. But I remember panicking, thinking that if he can’t make me understand I have to accept he’s just a piece of shit, and that would have killed me. So...I almost feel like he’s saying this to her, hoping for some answers so he doesn’t have to hate her, and also himself in a way. Trying to remind himself that he cannot let her get close.

It's all about power, and making themselves feel good. I chased a girl that gas lit me after she chose a guy 8 years older. Told me that he was creepy and abusive, then texted me from her phone accusing me of the same things that were attributed to him. 2nd Story: Awesome. Pretty sure if was Tony Robbins who said, "People change when the pain of staying the same exceeds the pain of effecting change". Most men are simps in the beginning. Some stay that way longer. But we tend to learn to respect our own worth after getting burned really hard a few times. We realize that the pain of having no self-respect is far greater than the pain of losing a woman (hetero perspective). Suddenly all the gaslighting and lies mean nothing any more. The bank of emotional punching bag is closed. 1st Story: Forget closure. The commenters were correct - it doesn't exist. Knowing the specifics and the "truth" will never set you free. The only thing you need to know is that you were betrayed. It doesn't matter who, how many, or how long. None of that matters. Betrayal is betrayal. Just move on.

16:30 First and foremost: you weren't manipulated, you were R@43D! Seems like you were drugged and attacked, but you certainly were attacked! You need to have ZERO FKS about her being suicidal for reporting it and pressing charges. Next, and this will likely be the hardest part: you need to transfer to another university, so you can avoid the entire group easily. The reason that is hard is because, in the process, you will be tempted to quit altogether, but you cannot do that! I understand that the victim shouldn't be forced to make changes, but you have two extreme disadvantages: 1- you're male and 2- even if you press charges and she gets convicted and dismissed from the school...even if she does time in prison, there will be people in her friend group that will say you "over-reacted". You're going to need to leave and continue your education elsewhere. Next, you need MAJOR therapy. I don't trust psychs, but this is one of those situations where you need to walk through this with someone professional. Lastly, at some point, you'll also need a sex therapist. A standard psychologist won't be able to fully get you through all the blame, guilt, and other nightmarish thoughts you will have. You will not likely trust women again until you understand, from all angles, that this wasn't s3x. Good luck and God Speed!

In my personal opinion, closure is overrated. 1) It doesn’t make feelings disappear. 2) For at least one party, there is never going to be 100% closure. Nothing they tell you will make it feel any less shitty. So just accept whatever answer they give you, and if they don’t give you an answer, then just make one up yourself, and put it to rest.

For number 3 the deep dark pit is a fine place to be. It can be cold and emotionally hard however it will make you stronger just don’t let the darkness take control of you. The best lesson it will teaches you is how to be cold and emotionally strong. I doubt he’ll see this boat for anyone who happens to be in that place right now just remember the darkness isn’t your enemy it is you teaching yourself how to be stronger just don’t let it consume you and you’ll come out the other side just fine might take a while though

What would help you to move on would be to forget about her. Just don't forget what she put you through, remind yourself that she is not worth it. NO CONTACT should be your fall back position. Unless of course, you are a glutton for punishment.

Story 1. Get a paternity test. You can (and should) still be dad to the boys you've been raising. But the boys deserve a chance to have an accurate family medical history. And they have NO chance of having that if they think they are your bio kids and actually are not. I don't get why people act like paternity tests are about the dad's need to know. It SHOULD be about accurate family history for the children. This is why paternity tests should be automatically done at each birth. No one is singled out, no stigma for one mother over another. Just done and dusted.

There is no need to ask "why" they do it......they did it because they wanted to, plain and simple....don't try to understand it...kick them to the curb and move on...it takes time, but leave them in your dust....doing better for yourself is always the best revenge because it eats them up inside.....Believe me, I know for a fact having been through it.
