Another indicator that Odin was *fake Tyr when I did a 2nd playthrough was how he reacted to Sindri and Brok stealing the Draupnir ring (one of Odin's many treasures); *fake Tyr/Odin was both pissed and annoyed as you tell by his demeanor and how he was walking towards Sindri in an intimidating manner.

@@TNTGamingonline Also in that scene he bumps into Atreus who's on Odin's right side, as he doesn't have a right eye
@StareachValcin11 ай бұрын
Atreus may have brought the fake Týr into Sindri's home, but Brok's death is NOT Atreus' fault. Brok's death is completely Odin's fault. Odin was just too impatient to get the mask back, that he killed Brok for hindering him. Atreus may have gone after Týr, but Odin did subtly manipulate Atreus to go after Týr by telling him not to do so. The fact that Odin was disguised as Týr from the start is proof that he planned this from the start. Even those who personally knew both Odin and Týr were tricked by Odin's disguise.

It shits me how this being who is literally hundreds, if not thousands, of years old blames this 14/15 year old kid for this when not just him but every other ancient being in sindri's house was fooled by it too, yet it was somehow the kind hearted child who was trying to do what's right that's to blame. To make it worse he was still a bit dirty on atreus for turning into a bear before he could control it and struck him. I get it would be hurting for Sin but still, blame Odin.
@matickills78911 ай бұрын

@ThatStevenLouis11 ай бұрын
17:25...good catch Tasha! It's one of those instances of "blended cultures"; Heimdall's Horn having that ability was added to those stories after conflicts, wars, and assimilation with Catholics. They added their beliefs into the stories they learned from the original peoples they found in Iceland and Vinland, and by the time the Protestants (aka Christians) found the New World, they began destroying and erasing what was left of the original stories, and just started adding on to the blended versions. The more you guys look into the actual lore, the more you'll find that the Æsir resemble God and his heavenly hosts, the Vanir who're a pantheon of gods themselves have been relegated to more like angels serving the Æsir, and the Jotun are the Devil.....when the Jotun and they're myths were the original "pantheon" of those lands once upon a time. Similar to how whenever you hear/see something in reference to a Native American, 9/10 it's coming from someone who looks like Joe Biden lol 👌🏾

I swear I just finished the game about two months ago and sindri's anger towards atreus after this really bugged me, but seeing how most believe atreus is solely responsible is what really gave me a gripe with this part of the story. Sindri is just as responsible if not more than atreus especially with brok not having an afterlife.

30:12 Atreus isn’t to blame because everyone was complicit. Everyone followed alllowed this to happen so no it isn’t Atreus fault he didn’t kill anyone. The fault is Odin. In fact it’s Atreus open and caring nature has gotten them through a lot. Atreus has taught his father to be more open and caring so I strongly disagree with you doing everything Kratos way is the best option at all zero
@matickills78911 ай бұрын
Yeah I don't like this part of the narrative to the story that the blame solely lies on atreus when everyone was complicit in helping him and supplying him with information to go and get answers. Not only that sindri also put atreus in danger by sending him to the rage and revenge filled Freya and nearly got him killed. These tasks all came with fatal risks which everyone willingly went along with. furthermore brok dying was more tragic when you know sindri is responsible for not allowing his brother an afterlife all because he couldn't accept his death the first time. Freya could have also tried to heal him right after the stab but she froze conflicted over revenge and helping a friend with a fatal wound with only seconds to get help. It's astounding to me how the majority of fans of this game really do blame atreus for this when everyone around him besides kratos was pushing towards Ragnarok and talking about not being able to change destiny. If we're going by that rule then technically brok was always meant to die even if he defied death due to his brother destiny cannot be changed

One thing i gotta pull you guys back on, in a manner of speaking, Kratos was definitely not right the whole time. It's almost as if you two entered Atreus' brain and started thinking like him, because it would be natural to go down that mindset of he fucked up, his father warned him, he was right and atreus was wrong. *But* i do have to say the game makes a very clear distinction between it just being Kratos vs Atreus mindsets, and it being about both of them learning from each other. Kratos was definitely not right. if you can't trust gods does that mean they can't trust Freya or her brother? Can Kratos not trust Atreus, hes a god too? It's that very same closed off, distrustful and angry mindset that Kratos apologized to Atreus about when they were in Helheim, those are his old ways and they are not right, and he does not want to fall back into them. If they had never gone in search of Tyr, Odin would've definitely won in the end, Kratos and Freya would never make up, they'd never help out the people in Vanaheim, they'd never help the Celestial Wolves, they'd have never figured out the real prophecy of Ragnarok (where only Asgard is destroyed and the other realms prosper) ect ect. Atreus set them down the right path, he's a bit naive, but he can never be like his father and his father does not want to see Atreus turn out like him. Loki runs better on chaos, and thats the kinda person and god he is, Kratos coming to accept that and opening up while teaching his son right from wrong is what their journey has been about, being decived by Odin does not change that.

It doesn't matter how many times you see this scene, it hits hard every time. The worst part is Brok is missing one of his soul parts, his fylgia - direction, which means the other parts can't find their way back to the lake of souls. He's been denied an afterlife, there's nothing to bring back, is hiw its put later. We have learnt one thing though by watching all 8 games is that there's nore out there than even the gods know, ie the higher plane athena ascends to, the rift Odin's obsessed with so hopefully he ends up having an after life for his after life. Sad episode all round.

Oblivion. His soul just ceases to exist. No Valhalla, no Helheim, nothing.

Anytime Odin disguised as Tyr talked it was spelled like this(Tyr) without the accent. Also this was the first time in the series that we get to see how the Dwarves slip between relams, every other time is done off camera. Theres no way to revive his brother remeber hes missing 1 of 4 pieces of his soul meaning theres no way to even get his soul to revive him. WAIT YALL JUST WAIT😂. I know rn with the new found PTSD compounded with the old one yall are on edge. You can trust the Aesir gods, all the other ones are cool i.e. the vanir. It’s hard to remember this, but Atreus did grow up pretty quick throughout the first game. The time jump, too, plus the game opens up with Atreus taking on tasks around their home without being asked or told (which we see Kratos smile about, and it is wonderful to see). He is still pretty young, but after everything he’s been through and everything he’s done, it does make sense to think he might be ready to go out on his own, at least from Kratos’s perspective. Unfortunately, Odin had something planned none of them (and most of everyone watching/playing) could have seen coming. Try was off to me for a while, but I always wrote it off as him being incredibly (and ironically) pacifist.

Me: Yeah, what's that? Proceeds to yak. Me: Ok, oook yeah, you go ahead and get it all out. You done? Thor: Now, we can go. Me: Ok 11:09 Mask completed and right on queue is Odin and a whole lot of "OTHER" problems 13:50 Me: Whelp Atreus, I think it's time to make a quick escape. Atreus: Sindri better be right, Hvergi! I laughed because he got out by the skin of his teeth, and looking at this again, i was wondering what blocked Thor and it was the ingrid. And that whole conversation at 14:40-15:17 and i actually agreed with Mimir doing some side quests gave me some time to think about how everything is going to unfold when i continued the Main Quest. Tyr: One last time, I will pick up my spear and lead us into Asgard. Me: Ok then, 'bout time he stoned up. Brok: Then where's that idea been this whole time. Me: I guess some people don't reveal their trump card until they absolutely need to use it. I was nervous for no reason, and Brok was making it worse, like, "Can you chill?" Brok knew that something wasn't adding up, Why was getting all giddy about the mask, and more importantly, why is he calling Atreus"Loki?" These were all red flags that just flew over my head because Atreus was called Loki to the other giants, but when i saw tyr reaching for something in his pocket i was like "BROK GET BACK!" Tyr/Odin: DO YOU NEVER SHUT UP?! PLOT TWIST: ODIN WAS PLAYING AS TÝR 27:33 Freya: We need you HERE! Me: Well, right now, i'm comforting my son, who knows when i'll be back. There were so many callbacks to God of War 2018, especially with the hunting, and it gave me time to really ponder everything that happened Brok's death, Odin being Týr, and didn't even notice that minor detail in his name the letter in Týr's name because the "Y" is supposed to be like this "Ý" not like regular "Y".

I’m still not in the whole everything that has happened is entirely Atreus’s fault. There has been multiple factors going on and Odin is the type of person to keep his own eye on those factors. He’s the type to scheme and plan things that benefit him. Even if Atreus decided to not find Tyr anymore, Odin would have devised another way to get to him. A manipulator always shows the “truth” the way he wants others to see it. And that’s what others who don’t know him, won’t get until it’s too late. I am not advocating that Atreus is blameless. This is a big f*ck-up and he will never live this down. He’s too kind and naive for this world, but you gotta remember that he’s still growing as a young man and mistakes like these will stick to and shape him.

There's suppose to be an accent mark above the Y. It shows up every time someone speaks his name but every time "Tyr" speaks it's always missing.

Amazing episode! I knew you guys would be blown away by that twist!😁And you're right, it was primarily Atreus's fault. And unfortunately his first big mistake was basically causing Ragnarok. From the very beginning, Kratos has been trying to teach Atreus and get him to think more about his actions and his intent behind those actions. But Atreus, just took it as Kratos not trusting him because he was questioning him so much. He wasn't realizing that the only reason kratos went along with everything though was because he wanted to trust his son (which goes back to the comment I left on the episode when they fought garm). The really nice part about this episode though was Kratos's interaction with Atreus at the end. You can easily look over that line where Atreus starts blaming himself and Kratos stops him and tells him "no." That moment was a lot deeper when you realize he's telling him no because thats what Kratos essentially did and didn't stop doing for centuries until God of War 2018. He blamed himself for killing his wife and daughter, he blamed himself for killing tons of innocent and not so innocent people, he blamed himself for just being a monster period, and I'm sure he blamed himself for many other things too (and most of it was true which makes it worse). After suffering as much as he did, and being tormented by his past and the Gods even more, in the end it just caused him to be a broken man....or god if you will. All that was really left after that was rage and a lack of humanity. Something the newer games have been trying to rectify. Whats crazy is that not only was Odin aware of everything, but when you go back and look at the scene when Odin and thor first show up at the house, you realize a couple different things about Odin's plan. For starters he offered a peace deal with them in exchange for Atreus to stop looking for Tyr. If Kratos had accepted that deal then everything would be all good, but we all know Kratos wouldn't have accepted that deal, and Odin knew that too. His real reason for offering that deal was to make them suspicious of why he wants them to stop looking for Tyr. Its like reverse psychology. By making them think he doesn't want them looking for Tyr, it in turn actually makes them believe looking for Tyr was probably the right thing to do, so they did it anyway not knowing that Odin was gonna disguise himself as Tyr. He planned it all out and helped put them on this path from the very beginning. Man I can't wait for the next few parts! We're in the endgame now!😁

Indeed. Now the question is “why”? It couldn’t have been for the sake of the mask. Honestly, it didn’t seem like it was that hard to find. There has to be a bigger reason of why Odin put this plan into motion.

@TNTGamingonline yep! I agree. Although knowing Odin, it was probably many reasons. I think the mask was one, getting atreus was another, and finding out more about ragnarok & how to stop it was another. Plus, with all the stories we've heard about him, he just likes being 1 or 2 steps ahead of everybody else. While i do believe the mask was important to him, I'm of the opinion that he already knew what the words on the mask said. He just wanted atreus to feel like he was actually accomplishing something. But then again, maybe not. If the mask was that important to him, then I wouldn't have trusted it to a kid to find unless I actually needed their help for it.🤷🏾♂️

@@TNTGamingonline It was definitely for the sake of the mask, it was impossible for Odin to complete it because he cannot translate the writing on it, only Atreus can, which is why it seems so easy, but realize Odin took centuries to find that one piece AND lost every person who went along with him in search for it. The mask would make Atreus obsolete, as Odin would gain infinite knowledge, be able to stop ragnarok, and get the answers he wants for what comes after death for Gods. Everything comes back to that Mask

I usually upload 2 videos, one for members and the other for patrons. The members video is unlocked for the public weekly but patron video always remains unlisted. Somehow The week I dropped the video I messed up.
