I had never grieved for a "famous person" like I did Chester... I cried for 3 days straight after he died.. I'm a grown ass adult and it felt like the weight of 20 years caved in on me... RIP Chester

Agreed. I've been sad about some of my favorite celebrities' deaths, but when Chester died, it was different. I grew up with his voice and the band's lyrics guiding me throughout my life. When he died, it felt like a hole had been drilled through my life somehow. Took me 6 months before I could listen to an LP song again, and another 6 months after that before I could do so without crying.

Hey Tasha, don't apologize or worry about sharing your emotions with us. Its refreshing to see someone who is raw and real when reacting to videos. The emotions you show is what many of us feel when we hear these songs. Thank you for putting yourself out there and showing us how the music truly effects you. If you could please do One More Light, or even better, the Sophia Karlberg version of Heavy, I would really appreciate it. I think they would speak volumes to you about the mindset of Chester in the final year.

I don't think you plan something like that beeing in a depression. The death of a close friend, alcohol and past trauma could have been the reasons. Also the amount of sad songs he wrote could had an impact on his character development over the years. If i had to sing, that something is wrong with me over 10 years, then sooner or later i would believe in that.

Many people (not most, but many), claim that LPs music is depressing. It's not. It's definitely ABOUT depression, in all its forms, and conditions similar to it, and the circumstances that can cause or exacerbate such conditions...but nothing about their music is depressing, given of itself. . The point of their songs is to highlight what's wrong, that there IS something wrong. And more importantly, to inspire anyone feeling that way to not give up (in spite of the ironic name of at least one song), and to get back up, and keep fighting back. LP songs are calls to action, and reminders, that no matter our solitude, we never fight those battles alone. All who fight, fight together. . Painful as Chester's loss is, his legacy is two-fold. That everyone else going through what he went through, finds a way to go on...and that we all learn to accept that all battles come with a price, but we keep fighting anyway...together, because it's the right thing to do.

Now he is gone and I have lost so many people from completed suicide. Mental health issues are serious and not easy to fix and definitely no cure. Praying for all who suffer from mental health issues, loss of loved ones, and those that blame themselves. You are not at fault for another's actions and we cannot save the world. The music video is actually a play off a movie called Sunshine, both are pretty good, but this song is by far so much better. Also, the whole 'One More Light' album is pretty sad since it's the last album.. but there's a handful of songs that are just like Chesters sendoff, him saying his goodbyes. I think the one off that album that hurts the most to hear is Sorry for Now, because it's basically him saying sorry to his kids for what he did, and hopefully they'll understand one day...

Chester battled a lot of inner demons from childhood traumas. I have a lot in common with him... Except I'm not a singer. Anyways, Chester was sexually abused for years when he was a kid. That's one of the reasons for his depression. I suffer from severe depression due to childhood traumas that create inner demons that I have to fight every day. I've survived two suicide attempts, and Linkin Park songs have literally saved my life on more than one occasion.
