What sad & tragic losses, especially when they left behind young children. Such beautiful ove stories & families they both had... it leaves me teary eyed to know that they are without them. They made them stricter here in Ontario, Canada. 1st offence dui is a felony conviction, you get 1 year suspension, $1000 fine (plus reinstatement fees) then you gotta pay $800 to take a “back on track course” and then when you get your license back you have to get an interlock breath device installed in your car which also costs a lot! And this is without even hitting another vehicle or person.

Maybe it's time to make cycling on rural roads without a shoulder after sunset illegal. Bikes don't belong on those type of roads at that time of night.

The grandmother I never knew was killed by a drunk NYC bus driver as she walked across the street. Dead after age 42. My mother was 19 YO at the time, and “saw” her for the next 5 years. Everyone she walked up to the woman she thought was her mother, she said “Oh, I’m sorry. I thought you were someone I knew.” - for 5 years, her grief was so strong.

these bicyclist are all over the roads with 3000-4000lbs vehicles whizzing by them, and sometimes these cyclists think they're invincible. I wish people wouldn't ride on the road with cars. These drivers don't always see the bikes. And on Johnny HOckey. I've seen him live playing a few times against the Caps. He was a hell of a player. Yeah, caps fan here, and i still can't believe it! Until the laws get stricter this will continue. I'm from 🇨🇦 and 15 yrs ago a young drunk man sped and killed 3 pedestrians crossing a highway. They were 14-15 yrs old. He got 7 years but only served 3 yrs. People know that driving under the influence is ILLEGAL yet they CHOOSE to get behind the wheel. They use a car instead of a gun or knife to kill someone.The gov't needs to wake tfu and change the laws.

It doesn't matter that one brother was a celebrity as a star hockey player, what matter is that they were sons, husbands, Dads - Matthew was expecting his first child in December, Johhny had 2 young children, and their sister was really looking forward to them being groomsmen in her wedding the following day which she of course cancelled. So many lives ruined by this.

Do you know that guy is never gonna get to know his child and his child is never going to know his or her dad because he just got married and she’s pregnant And the poor little boys are gonna wake up every morning and their father is not gonna be there their dad is not gonna be there anymore So yeah those boys are so young that they’re not gonna understand and when people do selfish things like that Sometimes the younger child that has a big impact on them especially a little boy mostly little boy they get the role model from their dad Little boys have a great relationship with the Dad majority of the time right I mean everything that a little boy does and loves to do normally the dad does it with them because the dad really enjoys it While their mom may not enjoy everything that they do like their dad enjoyed what they did And so that relationship has been caught off that has been ruined and then they’re gonna have to start developing a bond with their mom And that’s gonna be hard for them because I remember when my two cousins were little Dario and his little brother Tallon I remember them spending time a lot with my uncle which is their dad my Uncle Lino and yeah they had a fantastic relationship with him And he did everything with them like what guys like to do like throw balls and shoot basketball you know just normal guy things While my auntie Collette did her own thing you know and if it wasn’t for the time they had with their dad doing guy things It wouldn’t be the same as it would’ve been now you know they I’m not saying they wouldn’t have learnt how to be respectful and how to be kind But I’m just saying little boys get taught that mostly by their dad and they get taught by playing like things with their dad they get taught to share They just get you know taught how to play properly

Such sloppy reporting. Nobody that I have seen yet has clarified that the brothers were biking in the dark, which is foolish, and whether or not they had helmets on and were using lights and reflective clothing. None of this overcomes what the driver allegedly did but may have increased the odds of a fatal accident. I have no idea if any of this is a factor because the reporting doesn't say so.

But he is still a great dad you know it’s just our personality are different that’s all Like he doesn’t like to chat as much as my mom does you know sometimes we be going out for lunch or supper I would try to talk and then he would not wanna be bothered as much, Like me and my mom we love to chat with each other no matter if we’re out for lunch or supper or even just eating at home Going shopping you know so yeah it’s just that me and Dad have different personalities that’s all My sister though my older sister she’s more a daddy‘s girl like her and my dad get along pretty good really really really good actually I guess it’s because my dad likes to walk in trails and walk you know he prefers to go walking somewhere rather than shopping at the mall you know And I’m the complete opposite I take after my mom side of the family you know when my mom goes to her sisters and Carla’s house with my grandma and my other aunt They spent hours and hours looking at different shops and that during the day they would And that would be something that I would want to do in the future you know with friends and that So yeah but I don’t hate my dad because my dad does a lot for me right like he took me to bocce every Thursday well on the Thursdays that I could go to bocce ball And then he took me to sign up for bowling for a special Olympics in North Bay So I’m pretty sure he’ll be watching me bowl every Monday in the afternoon, so yeah Even though we have different personalities I am lucky to have such a fantastic dad like him Like not to many people would say that a lot of people if they don’t get along with their mom or their dad They don’t even look at the positive things that their Dad or Mom does for them
