Great Vid -- We can't forget to mention Doug Sahm. What a talent from Texas. He had some great albums out and Tex-Mex music just ran through his veins as did blues and rock n' roll. He was greatly missed as part of the Texas Tornadoes and with his own groups. Thanks for sharing another great line up from the past. Doug Sahm - Wikipedia

Órale! These guys were a Supergroup of Tejano/Tex-Mex musicians back in the day. The venue you're thinking of is Austin City Limits on PBS where this show was.

Austin City Limits has been on the air for 30 years. Episodes air Saturday evenings on PBS. Some episodes can also be streamed by visiting ACLs website (I think). The artists featured are an eclectic mix and most are not "mainstream" types. It's a really big deal and honor for most of the performers. It's an opportunity to be seen and heard by a national television audience. Some artists (Willie Nelson for example) have appeared numerous times. There is also an annual music festival in Austin by the same name.

I use to see Doug Sahm at Soap Creek Saloon and The Armadillo World Headquarters in Austin Texas back in the 1970s , Doug Sahm was a great band leader and musician, check out his Last of The Real Texas Blues Band with Denny Freeman and Augie Meyers, great record, Doug also watched out for Roky Erickson for years

The lead singer is Doug Sahm. He lead essentially the same band under different names. Research "Sir Douglas Quintet," the band that did the original of this.

The guy in the blue coat put this song out originally in the late 60s. This version is better. Augie meyer was on keyboards.
