For the sake of his son, he needs therapy big time. I worry for the little boy, not only because of the _shit_ parents/role models he was dealt, but because he was conceived via deception, & is a living reminder/representation of this OP's worst decisions in life. It's _very_ easy to see OP developing a lot of resentment & misdirecting it onto the child. He'll eventually find out his Mother never wanted him (he was a 'means to an end') & gave him up without a second thought, & he'll know he has older half sisters who want absolutely nothing to do with him. He said it himself, the friend knew the family for over 10 years of course the ex and friend would move from having a platonic relationship to a romantic one after this. Friend was probably her shoulder to cry on while her marriage of over 20 years fell apart and it pushed them to revaluate their feelings, all that with 2 years of dating, like dude just take the L... Admit that this whole spiral is your fault and your fault only. Not ex's, not the friend's, not the mistress' (don't get me wrong she's also a huge pile of manure). With the first story it's completely obvious that the original poster is never going to see his daughters ever again and most likely his daughters are most likely going to ask their mom's new husband to legally adopt them as his children. That is what's going to happen. In addition this man is so angry that his wife is moving on because of his own selfishness that now he has to basically be a single father and deal with the fact that his side piece left the country and wants nothing to do with him or their baby and his kids want nothing to do with him or their little brother. My advice to the original poster is simple you're just going to have to move on and let this be a lesson let learn to you you may have been a great father to them but the moment you betrayed their mother and got your side piece pregnant was the moment you knew that your family was never going to be the same and your family was never going to look at you the same. First story is similar to another story about this chick's friend who "accidentally" revealed about her cheating and that rumor got to her husband. She was desperate to fix her relationship and marriage, but he never wanted her back and neither did her kids. OP in this story really did screw up. All I can say is: what's done is done; gonna have to move on. He will also have to raise his kid better and teach him to not repeat the same mistakes OP did.

Story 1 is just an amazingly tragic result of his shitty actions. Man was so stuck on his own wants that he destroyed his daughters lives and sense of self esteem, and his son's start in life. Just wow. And man has the audacity to assume his ex was also cheating. That little jab of "hindsight" just makes him look petty and pathetic, looking for any thread to tear down the mother of his daughters to make himself look a little better to internet strangers. Also, I am livid for his eldest daughter. OP claims he never cared about 'first born sons', but what did he do to shut that down for his daughter growing up? That idea had to come from somewhere, and if not from him, then his family, and he did not do enough to shield her from that. And he just doesn't see that? Also. Will people please stop trying to 'save' relationships by opening them? You can't manage a single partner relationship, what makes you think you have the skills to handle an open one? Those are hard fucking work and require difficult conversations. It's not just a feelings free hall pass to fuck whomever consequence free.

Dear OP in Story 1: Your daughters already understand you well enough to know you aren't their priority. They were your children, you cheated (which is never a mistake but a series of choices you alone bear responsibility for), and what message did that send to them? That they weren't good enough. That the weren't worth it. That you weren't willing to fight for them and care for them and instead looked elsewhere. That maybe if they loved you more you would have chosen them, that maybe if they were worth more or better you would have remembered them, that if you cared about them you wouldn't have betrayed them. Can you deny that? Can you honestly deny that when you chose to cheat you were thinking about your daughters? Or was it more about the immediacy of getting that itch scratched and having that adventure... aka selfish experiences that did put your wife and daughters on the back burner? Actions speak louder than words, and you proved them right. Your actions proved they aren't a priority. So when you're baby trapped with a boy, of which they've heard again and again they're the ones that broke the pattern, when they know they aren't your priority, what else are they supposed to think? Do you honestly expect a happy and loving family when you've betrayed and replaced them? Intentional or not, actions speak louder than words. You betrayed them in secret, how can they ever trust they're your priority? I'm not saying this to whip you more. I am saying this to help you understand their perspective. Teen girls are difficult because they don't look at the surface, they look at the meaning behind it. "Susie smirked at a joke, so she likes X." Then they file that away to talk about, to remember and use in their conversations or in who likes who for the teen girl fight/ flirt/ pecking order/ dominance squabbles. They're developing detectives fam! I know, I've been there. And like your daughters I was betrayed by my father. He said I wasn't worth the school's required $50 music lessons by asking, "Why should I pay for that? That's your schooling." Logical, yes. A teaching moment, maybe. But the precedent had been established that I should go to him with anything no matter how embarrassing, and money was embarrassing in our poverty stricken family. Instead of framing it as getting a job, or you're in middle school time to take on added responsibilities, no learning how to stand up for yourself and be confident, it was a scoff and denial and no further discussion. That's just one instance fam, and that's from the same man who physically, emotionally and sexually abused me to the point I'll always have CPTSD... the man I trusted because he was my father yet used me like he used everyone else in his life then downplayed and manipulated my experiences and feelings and positioning because it wasn't his way of thinking... If you want a snowball's chance in LA with your daughters you have to back off and show them you care. Don't send presents, you'll just be attempting to buy their love. Don't call and chat when they've asked you to forget about them, that's disregarding their wishes. Follow their wishes, not yours. Post on social media once in a while, holidays and such, about how much you're missing out with them. About how you realize you messed up by "accidentally" or "unintentionally" hurting them. How you didn't mean to betray them in that way, it was a lapse of judgement and you know you hurt everyone by making the wrong choice (wording denotes responsibility taken, women pick up on that), and you hope in the future when they find your posts they'll reconsider. Prove over time that you miss them, that you know you messed up, that you wish your accidents could be somehow forgiven but you know they can't. How you wish you had an opportunity to apologize for rejecting and hurting and denying and betraying your daughters, but know you can't undo the past and all you can do is move forward and try to do better. How if they'd give you a chance you'd be the dad you were supposed to be in a heart beat. How you love them, and even though you have a "new family" they will never replace the one you already had. And wait. And keep posting. And wait. Don't hold your breath though. You know you "messed up" bad (cough choosing to put yourself in a position of infidelity isn't messing up it's deliberate cough). You know you hurt them, but currently you're downplaying their hurt. Stop that. Take them seriously and imagine this in their shoes. The man who was their world chose someone else and got a boy, intentional or not, and now he finally fits in with his family... you'll be lucky if they ever reach out to you. But until then, you have some growing up to do. Stop being so selfish and think about those you claim to care about before you do something. Don't be like the 3rd grader I had who watched his father die in a four wheeling accident, and had a break down because, "I saw my dad die because he was stupid! He was showing off to the family and now he's a broken, bloody mess in the ground and left us all alone! He didn't love us, he loved his four wheeler more!" Do you have any idea how heartbreaking that is to hear, let alone from a child??? Stop being the same trope, the selfish, prideful human who has to prove to himself he can have it all at the expense of his responsibilities and duties. You're better than that. Be better than that. Tl;dr grow up and consider those you claim to love, stop choosing only yourself and your needs to have intimacy or how you need your children. They're all individual lives that you are affecting. Best wishes.
