Yeah she legitimately thought her delusions were reality, there was one part where her daughter says “I prayed for you” as her mom was freaking out and her mom says something along the lines of “actually I did see you in my mind” but then she blamed everyone else in the house for not praying for her. Super sick woman, she needs professional help.

I know it doesn't seem like it but take it from an old lady.... it really does get better. Karma always helps the right people and hinders the negative bullies. I had one girl growing up always called me fat and other size related names (I was chunky)... she moved away and the next time I saw her she was on a terrible TV programme begging to have her stomach stapled whilst any excess weight I carried is long gone and I'm on the skinny side now. Karma.... gotta love it so keep on moving and the universe will help you. ✨️

When I was little, my dad and I used to walk to a local general store together about three to four times a week and we would both get an RC Cola and a Moon Pie. Both of those things still hold a super special place in my heart and probably always will. So yes, I prefer RC Cola to literally any other soda.

As a white person, if I ever spoke disrespectful to my parents I'd be on the ground. Especially with the no rule thing as well. Kids need discipline, maybe not something extreme but something to teach them how to be respectful and how to take care of themselves and such.

I come from a white family and as most kids do I hated discipline, but it was also because the white kids I was friends with often had very little so I thought my parents were just extra cruel. Morbid story about this show...there was an episode where the strict family was a mother and father with all boys who were forced to be a blue grass band. The new care free mom let them be children and even allowed one of the sons to go out on his first date. When the strict mom came back she refused to implement the new changes and went back to controling their lives. Years later one of the sons snapped and shot his mom and one of his brother. He then shot himself.

Yeah, but young black boys don’t have the luxury to make mistakes, without becoming a number in the system more often than not. The child is either guaranteed a record or being put in a body bag. While I agree, that the parents need to loosen up a bit, I do not blame them for parenting out of fear. Their militant mindset may be the very thing that kept these young men alive and out of the system. We can only hope that they didn’t become a statistic.

Eh, I think it needs to be an issue of degrees, as a veteran. You make the active choice to join; maybe not always an educated choice, but you decide. Kids can't make that choice, and basic is about breaking someone down and rebuilding them to fit the military mold. I've straight up had mild trauma flashbacks to things screamed at me in basic; that's just... the way brains work. Raising a kid in that would be abusive, hands down. Raising a kid using aspects of that would be beneficial.

I love to watch this show with my mom and the two most memorable episodes for me so far were the merder episode (One if the kids murdered some of the family a few years after the episode) and this one episode where one wife is a safety freak or something and in one of the scenes she keeps getting Paranoid about one of thw kids holding a pencil and the show edited the cllip to close up on the pencil and edit it like it was a dangerous object. I definitely have some favorite editing moments for this show

@@throwawayaccount5785 if your child is 17 and lives in your house, then they would probably have a bedtime, so if it's still your child, and they are 18, and live in your house, nothing most likely would change.

the sad truth is that we still have this show in Czech Republic and they still make new episodes (they stopped because of the pandemic but I´m pretty sure they will start again)...

I was raised by my grandma, you know the greatest generation that ever lived. She ran her house like the drill sergeant father. White glove checked my room. Taught me all house chores. I can iron a 3 piece suit perfectly, including perfect pleats on the pants. I can fold a fitted sheet beautifully and her kitchen rules taught me cleanliness that you only learn in food service. She only made one mistake. Till i was 18, I was a model teen. But she said i could whatever I wanted when i hit 18 and that led to a very rough start to my 20's. Only now do i truly appreciate what she taught me. I miss her like crazy too and have a heavy respect and love towards all from that generation

I met a couple that was on Wife Swap when I was at a Buffalo Exchange in Phoenix Arizona in the mid 2000's lol I don't remember them being strange people at all but I remember thinking the show premise was nuts! I only watched an episode or two with a friend who was obsessed with TLC-esque shows, but this episode is SO bad, wow!

It's crazy how racist people live and act almost exactly how they say that the people they use slurs to describe live and act And they say that they aren't saying those things about any race in particular, it's just a coincidence that certain races ac like that
