This is a serious matter. The government must look into it, as this law is not serving its purpose in this modern world. It must be updated to curb and curtail the increasing divorce rate in our country. They should add some clauses like min. 5-10 years of marriage for entitlement of alimony along with stringent conditions. They should form some counsel of spiritual leaders, whenever anybody comes to court for marriage/divorce-related issues, should be sent to this counsel for counseling of six months to one year and obtain a certificate from them, then come to the court if still it doesn't get resolved.
