I already posted this in the last basketball video but I don't think you saw it so I'm posting it again. I found a strat that made me beat Tommy in 1 try ! When you are defending don't shake because you could fall and inevitably the opponent will score. Wait until an opponent tries to shoot. As soon as the camera changes for the opponent to shoot start spamming the + button. This will buffer the game so now wait until you see your opponent starting to jump (watch out for the fakes) so then shake your wii remote and unpause. You will block every time. Now you just have to nail some shots and you'll win ! To do that, try to get rid of the ball as soon as possible when you shoot.

Hello! First time viewer but saw you were struggling so here's my advice. (Note: Ive beaten Tommy multiple times for friends and other miis and have maxed my level to 2500 on basketball) My technique is to use fast dribble and a lot of passing to keep the ball moving and out of Tommys teams hands. If you pass the ball long enough, your players will get open by themselves or tommys team will fall cuz they're trying to steal it. Those are yout chances for points. Keep up the fast dribble until youre either near the rim or by the 3 point line so you can set up easy wide open shots. You let up on the fast dribble and passing whenever someone is open. Whenever they're open with separation, Tommys team will fall for the fake outs. As other people mentioned, practice the 3 point contest and learn the timing of your shots. Each position on the court has a different shot timing so learning the timing will make your wide open threes so much easier. Hope this helps! Beat Tommy!
