From the demo I played at Comic-Con, there are 3 Lead characters the one in red, the swordsman in blue, and the fat guy in green. But that was a very early demo from when it was still called "Project P-100" so things may have changed since then.

The wonderful 101 is an epic action brawl fest. cooky comic book dialogue with block buster presentation, cinematics, and a visual feast for the eyes. I love how the levels vary in tasks you must do, puzzles, and believe me they have boss battles galore which can take place on diff phases. I give this game 9/10 and i think the reviewers that gave this 7/10 didn't understand the basics of the game and even tried to master the controls. THis is one of those rare games that i hope will be succesful

it's a superhero game where you control an entire team of superheroes together as one unit. The heroes 'transform' together into formations to tackle larger opponents (like turning into a giant sword or a giant fist). You can also recruit rescued civillians and turn them into superheroes in order to pull off even crazier moves. the more bodies you have in your force, the more powerful you are. So a little bit like pikmin, but an action game.

Sakurai said that adding third-party characters like Mega-Man would be the exception, but I can clearly imagine the character in a Smash game. And I agree, it'd make for a great Nintendo Direct ending video. Iwata is going to say "We have prepared one, last video about the main character in The Wonderful 101. please take a look." Well, Platinum Games was formed by former members of Clover Studio (former subsidiary of Capcom), which is the company that made Viewtiful Joe. So it comes as no surprise that they would revisit this style as they pioneered it. I would even say we should possibly expect a cameo or so from a certain tiny guy in red spandex from said series of games. No matter what, this game looks insane, and I want it.

There's a new Nintendo Direct tomorrow, on Thursday. Although I doubt it, maybe we can hear something more about this game. I'd be happy with a launch window sometime in Fall.

I totally agree with you and was thinking the exact same thing. The Wii-U may be underpowered compared to Sony and Microsoft's next-gen consoles, but that actually might be a huge selling point for Japanese studios that are trying to cut development costs. I see the Wii-U garnering a lot of Japanese developer support, and hopefully (if SMTXFireEmblem and X are any indication), this will mean a revival of the JRPG genre.

There was a demo for it at PAX East this year. Unfortunately, the line was SUPER packed, so I didn't get the chance to try it myself, but I'm sure they've put up demos of people playing it to better demonstrate the actual control scheme around here somewhere.

Wonderful 101 rocks, the demo left me craving for more :D, this game is a cross between bayonetta, viewtiful joe and pikmin had a baby and this is the result. it may be confusing at first but on your second playthrough things will come together as you master the controls and morphing to a new character, using your diff attacks, team attacks, etc its off the hook definite new ip for wii u and hope for a part 2 of this :D

The Wii U might've had a weak amount of interesting games at launch, but 2013 will be an amazing year for the Wii U with games like this, Pikmin 3, Rayman Legends, The Wind Waker Reborn and more. It's the same with the 3DS, thanks to the name leading people to think it's an upgraded DS, sales were not as good, but once they get alot of good games on it people got more interested and eventually realized the difference.
