I'm only on World 2 and so far it's been good but not great. However, I've heard the game gets much better and more challenging as it progresses, and seeing this video confirms that. Some of those levels look crazy, very similar to Galaxy 2. Can't wait to get there.

I actually enjoyed the timer, if only for the pressure it adds in multiplayer. I've been playing through with my sister and we spent a lot of time just fooling around in the levels. Then the 100 seconds timer stars and we have to make a mad dash for the exit. Makes for some fun memories (although I understand why people hate timers).

I could do without the timer for the most part. There were a few levels where my friends and I were just exploring but had to rush at the end cause we were running out of time. However, one cool aspect of the timer is to compare times on miiverse or with friends to compete!

If only Nintendo was smart enough to remake older 3D Mario games on Wii U:Super Mario 64 (plus the DS expansion), Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 on Wii U, with updated controls for the gamepad and updated HD graphics, I would certainly buy it, even if it would be very expensive.

There need to be a DLC for this entited ''Super Luigi 3D World'' like New Super Luigi U, Mario is gone and is replaced by Nabbit. Also, all stages are shortened and have a 100 second time limit.

Honestly, I feel like people should be comparing this games to something like the New Super or 3D series instead of Galaxy as it's premise is more akin to the former games and not the latter.

I know right, I saw a review of this game on another channel and the guy said "I like this new approach of having the game have the concept of a 2-d Mario game in a 3-d world. It's something that Nintendo hasn't done before that works very well.".........THEY'VE ALREADY DONE THAT IN 3D LAND IT IS NOT NEW! (But I still like the game a lot)

Regarding timers and point systems, I feel that these features may seem archaic and frustrating, but they have legitimate uses in game design (to my mind). I find the timer to be the more necessary of the two, as it adds tension to the gameplay, With unlimited time you would not take as many risks and slow the platforming to a crawl, why wouldn't you? you only 'lose' if you mess up or get greedy, but with a timer you have to plan your moves and make judgments of risk and reward (that is to say wanting to make it through obstacles but not wanting to take so much time that you lose because you timed out.) While I'm pretty sure a certain threshold of points earns you a 1up, we also have green mushrooms and completing a certain amount of jumps off enemies heads without hitting the ground for that, points almost never come into play. I feel that points are outdated and should really be reserved for a score attack mode, where players challenge each other to get the better score (with the timer once again being important since having more time left equals a greater score)

This game is well executed, but suffers from confused identity. The developers couldn't decide on which direction to take, so instead opted to follow the graphics template for Mario Bros. 2, game-play/camera/ideas from the 3DS Super Mario 3d Land, and several single use "power-ups" like Turtle Shell, Goombasuit, ...etc. ultimately sprinkling too many sugar crystals around too narrow a cake. I believe a more focused approach to a future Mario title will do Nintendo good. Perhaps a game centered around Mario's disguise feature with more varied levels based around that single premise. All in all, this game was too many ideas with lack of complete fruition, and was geared towards multiplayer fun-- succeeding most strongly around that goal. Even if the controls were scaled "slower" to achieve the proper flow...

this review felt kinda short i mean you didn't mention rosalina, you didn't act peach, you didn't talk about the gameplay music nor the graphics neither the special cat powerup. You didn't put either the new stamp colletion thing

This game was fun, but it had horrible camera angles. At times it was annoying/frustrating especially in the later worlds. The camera angles was a difficulty on its own.

***** I collected all the stars, stamps, and achieved all gold posts too. The camera angels through out were horrible. It still is a good game. It's just it had bad camera angles which was the only problem I found on the game (especially on two player co-op; it was worse).

1:38- really..........REALLY! You are going to complain about how you can only move in 8 directions? Nintendo had to make you move in only 8 directions because of the controller of the wii remote. What else are they supposed to do. Just make the game 1 player just so that you can move in all directions? NO! Either complain about something that's really wrong about the game, or don't complain about anything at all!

Ryan Neely Well unfortunately, they can't do it for compatibility reasons. If they made it fully analog, it'd be unfair for those using Wii Remotes. This is partly why I really hate it when they shoehorn multiplayer, because NOW the experience is compromised for those who want to play the game solo using a GamePad, as now the GamePad's features cannot be properly used to their full potential because it'd really leave things imbalanced for those using Wii Remotes.. Still is a silly complaint though because… clearly the level designers were aware that you could only move in 8 directions, so they designed the levels to be much friendlier for 8 directional use. I only have issues with the post-game content with the 8-directional movement (last level, in particular). Other than that, it really doesn't affect my experience in the main game.

Haven't played this game yet, but something that really bothers me is the amount of "dust" clouds the characters leave behind while running.
