At a group I play with, their "medic system" is this: first hit, the teammate (no designated medics), ties a white strip of cloth (simulated bandage) around your arm. Second hit, a teammate gives you a bottle of water, and you must drink the whole thing before getting back in play ("potion"). Third hit, it's a hard respawn. I also need to write an Nerf WikiHow article that's actually *good!*

The literal only reason i could see the "Candy-Medic" being an actual good thing would just be game pacing or balance. For example if half your team is down in one spot and all you have to do is tag them all (which you could almost do without even stopping your sprint) than that would be mad broken. the slower pace adds a real sense of 'danger' for the doc and those trying not to be shot "Candy-Medics" would have to take their time to aid other players which, imo, would lend itself to some fun gameplay, Ex. everybody covering fire for the medic so we can get our only missile guy back in the fight

Personally my friends and I did a Nerf war and we had a class limitations, which I'm not going into details but at the most basic point - each team has 1 or 2 medics, and they carry around band aids. To revive someone, you need to stick the band aid somewhere on their shoulder, and that can be a clear indicator to how many times they were revived. If you get taken out while you have 2 band aids, you're out for the match.
