Daryl Hall (Blonde) does most of the lead singing heavy lifting, but John Oates does a lot of singing as well. I really appreciate them more now than when I was young because I was a dedicated metal/hair rocker during the 80's. But I was really into MTV videos, so I was aware of everything that had a video, and Hall and Oats had some good ones. I did own a couple of their albums and enjoyed them. I just discovered the Hall & Oats from the 70's in the last 10 years, and they are great.

That bass line is super dope. The outro is f'n bad ass. Such a dope song. Does anyone else headbang to this song? Or am I the only insane person here? So metal!

Hall & Oates are one of the best pop rock duo groups in the 70's-80's. They had a lot of great hits such as "Rich Girl", "Kiss On My List", "Private Eyes", "I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)", "Maneater", "She's Gone", "You Make My Dreams", "Family Man", "Say It Isn't So", "Method Of Modern Love" etc.

The 80s & the 90s were without a doubt, the best times for music. They had TREAL SOUL & FUNK! This was music not only to listen to, but dance your fool head off, & believe me I did & still do! These times were so much fun, & really had something to say! Music today is nothing compared to really great musicians, that could write, perform & sing! Sorry, today is just rubbish, for the most part. Ok. Most, there are still a few that come up once & in a while! LOL, my friends, I think you know exactly what I'm saying. Take care! BK

The blonde (Daryl Hall) is singing this, and is the lead singer on most of their songs, but not all. Sometimes it's John Oats ... who I had a major crush on when I was a teenager, yanno, back in the olden days!😂

Daryl Hall has his own little concerts with all kinds of artists he likes to listen to. Daryl Hall's inspiration is the same inspiration as Bill Joel, the streets of Philly. They grew up listening to the locals street singing downtown Philly. Another artist before Hall & Oates is "Todd Rundgren". Checkout song "Hello' It's Me", also the same style. Oates style is usually southern blues. Listen is his last solo LP.

Guys try to hear after the original one tracks, the 12 inch versions available from each one of the great bands and artists from the 80's. You will realize how that period including the middle 70's and 90's decade all that was created inside Pop, R&B, SOUL, FUNK, Dance Music and Synth Pop will remain forever 1 million years in the generations ahead as a reference of how music was respected in lyrics, quality of sound, groovy and rhythm. Pride to make part of those ones who lived all that period in my childhood and teenage years.

Hall & Oates pretty much ruled the Pop charts for quite a while, recording hit after hit. I wasn't really into them, but they were undeniable, and their songs were catchy, and I often found myself singing along to their songs on the car radio. They became one of my guilty pleasures. Darrell is the blond and the lead singer, though I love it when he and John harmonizes.

I was a HUGE fan growing up in the 80s and was endlessly tormented by the metal heads at school! It seems now that even those old tormentors tell me that they like them now. It’s kind of odd, but I’ll take it! 🤣

Please do the Vanilla Fudge "Light My Fire" I heard it all summer my junior year in HS. Or Tracy Chapman "I've Got A Fast Car" or "Ole 55" by the original singer Tom Waits and was later covered by the Eagles. Tom Waits is funny as hel. and his voice raspy but has soul. I first saw him on the Johnny Carson show, Johnny loved him.

Darryl Hall was very much the lead but John Oates was no Andrew Ridgley ringing on the coat tails of another. Oates fully contributed. Check out the 80s pop classic "Electric Blue" which Oates co-wrote with Aussie legends Icehouse.

I know you were impressed with their "Man of Constant Sorrow"! Their newest release is a 50th anniversary cover of the Doobie Brothers' "Listen to the Music" which is absolute 🔥! They also have a new release coming out tomorrow. You don't know what you're missing! Thank you! 😊

Hello, My favorite reacters, Generally I watch & comment on your George Michael reactions, LOVE THIS MAN! However, I have a really good suggestion for the two of you. Daryl Hall (Solo Albums). There are two, SOUL ALONE (#1) & CAN'T STOP DREAMING (#2) On both the entire album. As for Daryl Hall & John Oats together, DO IT FOR LOVE! Also a very good album. I have to say these three albums are all very, very good! Give them a try! You'll love them! LOL, BK😄🎵

The eighties club style I hated, like this song, but their love songs, the r&b, that's why I'm a fan. Sara Smile, about Daryl's girlfriend, is one of the best ever love songs. Right up there with Bobby Caldwell's "What you won't do, you do for love"!
