I don't want to be impolite or anything, but the lanyard system you can mount in the top middle position is for retention in case the nods fall out of their mount. In this mount its pretty much useless since there is no break away feature, but I guess you can still manage to bump the release button in the horn and drop them accidentally if you're very unlucky. So I would keep it there just in case. Bungees are in the other hand much stronger and take out the little play/slack there might be between the dovetail and the mount. Just be careful when you attach the bungee cords into the nods and adjust the distance to your eyes from the mount, those bungees will pull it back so hard it will make you look like a raccoon after the nods hit you in the eyes😁 Don't ask where do I know that🙈 All in all great video, there are not too many videos from this mount out there👍

Also, Wilcox recommends the lanyard be replaced every six months which is impractical from a cost and remove/reinstall standpoint. I just got this mount after switching from the G70 helmet mounting system due to wobble/slop. What I have now is a new set of problems: the sweeping tension lever is too easily moved and even in the closed position, you can slide the mount up/down the vertical rails. Attempting to tighten the lever with a T6 torx bit only resulted in it stripping the head. Also the dovetail mount release lever should be pressed straight back to disengage the dovetail shoe but for whatever reason won’t budge unless you tilt the button upwards at which point it releases the shoe. Combine that with the crummy shroud mounting drawbacks and this thing sucks.

Hey brother just to point out why your mount doesn't line up better than it should is because your ops core is an older model. That mount is meant to fit the newer models out now. Obviously, it will still work and I'm glad you made it do so.

I have an Ops-Core Fast SF Carbon and it doesn’t fit any better. The instructions suck and so does the mounting hardware this comes with.
