Yeah that was odd ! Doesn't a sand bar show up on depth finder. Maybe this was staged , cause a seasoned captain wouldn't have this problem? Or is he bad captain that's just been lucky with his captain skills?

Hold on ... Wild Bill wasnt in the Bearing Sea , he was in one of the inside passages to offload. Sandbars like the one hes apparently on move with currents and they rise up abruptly from the bottom. He said they should be in 9 fathoms , thats 54 feet of water. Is he reading that from his depthfinder which the transducer could be at stern of vessel and may well have read that depth. Or was he going by a chart and he knows that can change with a single storm or lunar tide cycle. I won't rule out the possibility of it being a made for tv incident. When the bow grounded they should have felt the slow but definite stopping feeling from momentum. It s not a definitive mistake on Capt Bills fault.

@@Idkgoogleitbro Deadliest catch went woke.I have OVER 40 years in the crabbing industry. Owner of my own boats plural. Pay my Captains/ relief Captains 500 an hour from the time they enter my boats to the offload and cleaning my boats. Now do the math sucker.

We are in Scandinavia pulling troll crabs. Zero limit. Making big bux per crab. I require 10 years experience for deck boss/ engineer, 5 years experience for deckhands, we do NOT hire Green horns. I also hire a cook for each boat. That is literally their sole job. Deckhands get 40% catch. DO You have what it takes????
