Great vid lads wee bit o info on the castle at Loch doon. it was rebuilt in that location was previously on the island at Loch doon. It was moved when they flooded the area for the hydro program. The road yous were on leads onto the Carrick forest drive with more lochs. It leads to some nice roads in the lower parts of galloway.

Bike packing has definitely got its attractions mate, the freedom of the road, wind in your hair and wild camping in the beautiful Galloway forest park. Dark skies for astrophotography and you shouldn't have been asked to move on for camping either. That guy was in the wrong as wild camping is legal where you were. He was breaking the law by trying to force you to break the law, knowing you had a drink. Once they change the wild camping laws it might be better forgetting about camping in England and if you don't excercise your right to roam, you will loose places to go. I know there are some places in the Galloway forest with restrictions, no car camping and have to use a campervan with its own toilet facilities but didn't know the rangers would try and move you on from Loch Ken. I've seen videos where rangers are welcoming people and giving out bags for their rubbish. Thanks for the mention, I would love to fly the drone at Loch Doon, plenty of history to discover. I seen a video last night of some guy bike camping at Doon Castle, the same place you parked up, he camped right next to the castle wall. Its nice to see you uploading again and bringing something different to your channel, looking forward to seeing more content Bro, ATB.

Cracking video in my favourite place in the world, close on 50 years now. There are red deer in the vicinity of Loch Doon to the south. I've seen them on many occasions, also roe, but never sika. I've heard it said the reds must be escapees from the deer park at Clatteringshaws, but I doubt it, I think they are indigenous. Be good to have a chat when or before you come this way again. ATB.

Thanks doug, app that, im thinking gaz was right again , was def red deer territory but always thought the rivers stopped them coming south, always wondered why they arnt on the cheviots , thanks for your comment mate, appreciate it, atb john
