If Destiny flips this dude I’ll eat her out. Edit: For all the people denying a very simple conclusion that can be drawn from Nick’s ideology, I’ll spell it out for you. Nick thinks race mixing is degenerate and argues against it. In his ideal world there would be no race-mixing, therefore in his ideal world, Sneako would not exist. The issue with sneako is that even though he talks with people outside his community, I feel like he doesn’t genuinely engage with them, at least not as much as he could. I think he’s already made up his mind that he’s right and that there is nothing that will change his mind. If something he argues starts to fall apart, it’s not that he could be mistaken, but that his opponent is being bad faith or using manipulative tactics. I feel like he wants to be the type of person who “isn’t afraid to talk to people outside his bubble”, but is not actually genuinely engaging with people outside his bubble. It reminds me of the kid in school who says he likes to read books and study philosophy, even though he never engages with it and just half-way regurgitates everything. The type of person who doesn’t really understand or care about such things,but who just wants to be perceived as and perceive themselves as the type of person who does to satisfy their own ego. Edit: Ik Sneako is young and that it’s not realistic to expect him to be some master debater or great faith guy. I’m young too so I forgot to consider that. Also it’s probably hard for him to admit to being wrong/confused on the spot because his audience would give him shit.
@bird64722 жыл бұрын
I think that's his outward projection of it. He doesn't want to be seen as wrong (and therefore weak) so he outwardly dismisses it but internally it's different. I really do think he thinks about the things Destiny says afterwards, maybe hours/days after -- I feel that way because Sneako took a back seat to Destiny on F&F and he still talks with Destiny. And in my experience, growing up in the inner city you kind of have to put up a front a lot to show you're not weak. But who knows, I could be 100% wrong and Destiny isn't getting through to him.

The way Sneako and Nick react to destiny needing notes for a DOCUMENTARY, is very telling. A documentary is meant to be informative in some capacity, having context notes for the topic and taking notes on the source material you’re consuming is a great way to cut through any exaggeration to get the real truth. Propaganda exists in the “Official” and “Conspiracy” narratives.
@TheJawRaw Жыл бұрын
I actually understand why Sneako didn’t want him too. I realized it at the end. Sneako thinks that destiny won’t give it an honest watch and will just look at ways to disprove it without actually taking in the information. (Which is NOT what Destiny would do obviously) and then after looking at through a biased lens destiny would bring up counterpoints that Sneako isn’t smart enough to speak on to refute it. The irony is the exact opposite would happen. Destiny would watch it and be objective as possible, research the differences in claims and reach a conclusion. Too bad it didn’t happen because I think Destiny could change Sneako’s mind

That’s not why he wants time. It’s a deflection and distraction tactic. It’s not viewing one source of evidence in good faith and open minded. You don’t need to do research before watching an expose. @eetswalads5528 Жыл бұрын
@@darbyohara You clearly have zero clue how research works. If you're watching an exposé which intends to rebut claims presented by a study/investigation/group/etc. then you must have a thorough understanding of the initial claims to make an assessment of the veracity of that rebuttal. Otherwise, your engagement with the argument will rely upon other rhetorical strategies that the exposé uses because you have no foregrounding to critically evaluate its arguments. Like, if they claim that steel beams melt at 10,000°C and you have ZERO understanding of that melting point to give an approximation of what it may actually be... how are you meant to assess if that's true or not? The CONSTANT interruptions, the CONSTANT blind 'machine gunning' out of idiotic conspiracy theory sound bites, the CONSTANT invoking of a 1 dimensional world view which can be surmised wholly as ''right good, left bad''.... While that doesn't prevent the government from creating lies or trying to cover up stuff, the point is that it would be really hard to have so many people involved in that and manage to have every single one of them stay silent. Another important note he makes is that most people in the government have lots of conflicting goals with one another. Implying that they all have wildly different stances on how things should be run, yet somehow all manage to get together to cover up a few conspiracies is very unlikely.

@Racialist Slayer To give a quality answer I'd have to take a couple days to compile examples, but off the top of my head.. Wiki used to have a page on "cultural marxism", where you could read about critical theory and the frankfurt school, and the history of it all. About 6 months ago that page was deleted and replaced with a page called "cultural marxism conspiracy theory", and included as part of their series on "antisemitism", which obviously will be used to de-platform anyone who talks about it. This was right around the time that "cultural marxism" became a common phrase used to criticize "wokeism" or whatever you want to call it. It's one of those things that is so ubiquitous and blatant and obvious to me, that when you ask me for an example my mind is flooded with so many examples that it's hard to pick one. There's a name for that feeling but idk what it is. If you're actually interested we can continue this conversation in a few days after I do a little research, but I'm assuming you're not really interested in anything that would challenge your worldview. But again, "wiki is politically biased" is as obvious to me as "the sky is blue", so trying to explain it to someone who doesn't already see it seems pointless and impossible, unless they're open minded. It's right in front of your face, and if you don't already see it then you never will. It's like arguing with someone who says the sky is red. What can you really say? Sneako's problem is it's very difficult to learn new things in public when you're putting yourself out there like you know what you're talking about. It's very natural to get defensive in a debate and even when you try being open it still seems defensive (e.g. OK, you tell me what the federal reserve is. His face showed genuine curiosity and he was open, but it was the wrong venue for that question.) Obviously he's just a kid and this is how kids learn (maybe), but doing it publicly, I have less confidence he'll pull himself out of this rabbit hole. I'm rooting for the underdog because you can tell he has a good heart underneath a lot of ego pulling him multiple other directions.

46:45 Just a side note about the slippery term "heritable" in this context. In the statistical sense, "heritable" is not the same as "genetically/biologically inherited." It is just a measure of how well we can use "parent has this trait" as a predictor of whether or not a child will have the same trait. What this means is that things like religion and language are, technically, highly heritable traits. That doesn't mean there's a "Christianity" or a "speaking Italian" gene. On the other hand, something like having teeth is not a very heritable trait, because even parents who lose all their teeth will have children born with teeth. You would never think that a father who has lost his teeth is more likely to bear a toothless child, so, statistically, it's not a great predictor. Yet the origin of growing teeth is obviously genetic. When you hear "IQ is highly heritable," that is not the end of the nature/nurture debate, it's just the beginning.
@modo18962 жыл бұрын
Yeah the heritability of a trait doesn't mean it's genetically determined. It's just the extent that variation of that trait within a population is due to genetic variation in the population. And a trait like IQ or even religion can be highly heritable in one population and not as heritable within a population with more environmental differences. And you can have highly heritable traits like skirt wearing or wearing makeup in the U.S., which is accounted for by small genetic differences (xx and xy chromosomes in females and males) but the trait is not genetically determined at all but socially determined through gender norms. IQ is determined by a mix of environment and genes, but that has nothing to do with how heritable IQ is. If IQ is 60% heritable, for example, it doesn't mean that 60% of a person's IQ comes from their genes and 40% comes from their environment. It just means that 60% of the difference in IQ within the population (or between populations) is accounted for by genetic differences within (or between) the population(s). Also the heritability of a trait can change over time if genetic or environmental variation changes.

Man this old quote feels ever so fitting listening to this. “We've arranged a global civilization in which most crucial elements profoundly depend on science and technology. We have also arranged things so that almost no one understands science and technology. This is a prescription for disaster. We might get away with it for a while, but sooner or later this combustible mixture of ignorance and power is going to blow up in our faces.” ― Carl Sagan.

So true. In the age of information overload how can we expect people to decipher what is true from what is false when we have catastrophically failed at creating a literate society? Literacy is declining, critical thinking is declining, understanding of world history is declining, understanding of basic math and the scientific method are declining, all while we need them the most. I don’t fault the KZbin generation for being so incapable of deciphering reality from conspiracy. How can we expect that of them when we have failed to teach them how to think?

@@willb2481 The point was that there's too many people that would have to be involved, including a president, for such massively coordinated conspiracies to actually succeed. Again, Fuentes can't even bring up something recent during the age of cellphones, where trolls casually hack corporation firewalls because they're bored. Where people can coordinate and find someone's location from a random picture of a windmill on Twitter, because they're bored. In age where people in the US are constantly uncovering ongoing narrative cover ups in Russia or China, where politicians are constantly getting hacked, where former government agents are constantly giving out secrets for book deals, Destiny's point is that mass scale conspiracies are not possible now. Someone will out it or find out.

Also it's worth noting that we only know about Northwood because the documents were declassified. Same with lots of other US conspiracies which turned out to be true. Things that occurred since the 90s are still not declassified so any conspiracies we know about are because of whistleblowers or scrutinising investigative journalism. Both of which are very rare due to the huge stakes involved for anyone involved.

@@joshanderson924 wrong. He was completely correct. With tech today, the gov isn't coordinated enough to hide anything worth mentioning. His point wasn't that the government doesnt lie, it's that it isn't as structurally sound enough as a whole to hide the truth, because of inevitable leaks. His take on the different agencies was also sound because it's irrelevant. The basis of the whole conspiracy is that the 'entire' government was able to keep this a secret, seeing as all the information and resources going towards war has to be shared through every branch and agency. Nick's Snowden rant actually strengthens destiny's point. Snowdens leaks happened within 1 agency, with him exposing something with the purpose of protecting potentially 300 million Americans from terrorist attacks. So nick was basically saying that every government official was willing to stand around and let thousands of women and children die for an excuse to go to war, but 1 agency had everything leak while employing a countermeasure to terrorism in the form of mass surveillance. That's just absurd.

100% I kinda wish he was more informed on how legit this point is. And more than just activists because it’s an actual echo chamber and the major thing I found was a FEEDBACK LOOP from articles citing only Wikipedia and the Wikipedia article only citing articles that source Wikipedia and ZERO legit secondary sources. In fact i learned this myself researching QAnon and found there was not a single source explaining it from any source that isn’t from a critical pov, and all I wanted was to see what those ppl believe in their own words which should be easy to find considering how much they get discussed in mainstream liberal media sources. Im not saying it’s necessarily a conspiracy but it absolutely diminishes the credibility of Wikipedia in my eyes. Same goes for Gamergate. But with QAnon, no matter how controversial, just like the Nazi party, it should be possible to define their beliefs by reading their own words and self definition.
