I was the colorist on that most recent story arc in Batman: Brave and the Bold! I wasn't super familiar with the character before the assignment and read the original mini to prep. Thoroughly enjoyed it as well as the arc Kyle wrote for him in BBatB. Genuinely one of my favorite stories to have worked on in the last couple years. Really enjoyed your video!!

Sportsmaster would be a great villain for Wild Dog. Their rivalry could just be really petty as they hate how similar they are to each other while being moral opposites.
@qhethacoalspitter89352 ай бұрын
To add extra layer of pettiness, you could make something like the story set in a Game, where sportmaster is trying to sabotage it to fix a massive bet. It just happen to be Wild Dog's team, and sportmaster has stake cause he bet the team against them.

0:35 Chicago is genuinely one of the best cities to put superheroes in. Giant history of crime and organized crime, Homicide capital of the U.S., and it’s a requirement to be very corrupt to be a politician. The only thing is that Marvel is based in New York with New York writers, so most superheroes are based in New York, and DC uses fictional cities that are usually based off New York. I’m sure there are plenty of indie comics that are set in Chicago, but I would love having a marvel or dc hero(s) based in Chicago.

Technically, Gotham is based on if NYC and Chicago had a love child from a toxic relationship. Even some of the scenes in the dark knight trilogy were shot in Chicago.

Wild Dog is pretty much the final form of Casey Jones, seriously though this character is awesome! It's so fucking tasteless that CW didn't compensate the original creators what they should've! Also that Suicide Squad version of him is disgusting and disrespectful to the character but that theory you came up with to explain the personality change is actually pretty awesome!!

Wild Dog can be a solid character run by minis series and creating rogues aren't too hard. throw him against extremist groups and create colorful rogues for capers. What about a character that is like him him, home grown, but is more an extremists and maybe fights for more psychotic ideologies.

This was a really enjoyable video about a character you don't really consider too often, good stuff! Hey I also want to say I particularly really appreciate your comments about sort of specificity and authenticity of location and that was one of the things I love so much in the comics I've read from the '70s and '80s. It's one of the reasons I adore older Spider-Man comics so much is someone who grew up in New York and It's something almost nobody considers. Easiest sub in a long time.

And I Did Not KNow about the Brave and Bold ones. Will have to get those. Too bad I'm too late to the boat casue now the WD Covers are Sold out and going for Scalper Prices. Da*DARN*mn It!

I’ve been a fan of the character since reading his Action Comics Weekly series in the Arabic translated Superman series back in Egypt (it was an anthology series published from Lebanon that mainly included Arabic translated Superman comics but also included stories featuring other DC characters) and I was quite captivated by Wild Dog, possibly because it was the 90s when I read them and we were still having that Hollywood Action hero boom of films starring stars like Stallone, Schwarzenegger, JCVD…etc and I was REALLY big into that film genre as a kid. From what I understand, that Suicide Squad series is meant to be taking place in its own universe outside the main DC timeline but I like your idea of it being an imposter.

I had a blast when *Arrow* gave us some Wild Dog vs Vigilante moments in season 5 & 6 (and Wild Dog was one of Vij' most ardent supporters when he seeked to make a ceasefire with team Green Arrow in season 6 so both sides can take on Cayden James' Criminal Cabal at the same time, instead of diluting their efforts). Between Vigilante, Wild Dog and Prometheus, *Arrow* season 5 got me so hyped back then; before that it was unthinkable that these characters would share the same screen. Nowadays it might seem tacky, like the old *Smallville* pseudo-Justice League, but back when superhero shows were still seen as second-class material, it was pretty cool to see more and more people discovering and getting interested in our favorite characters thanks to *Arrow* and *The Flash* . Can't believe that today is the day the Arrowverse officialy ends, since episode 10 of season 4 of *Superman & Lois* is airing, well, today. What a ride it's been, get ready for a bunch of youtube retrospectives on *Superman & Lois* ' 4 seasons. _Dis gon be gud_

I really enjoyed the original 4 issue Wild Dog miniseries. I really like Jack Wheeler and his interconnected circle of friends. How they interact with each other is truly what makes the comic. Also, why do you called him WD40?
@majordisaster2 ай бұрын
Wild Dog, WD. Created nearly 40 years ago, he's a mechanic so likely uses lubricant on cars, I like wordplay and it gets boring saying the same name over and over and I like to switch it up. It's a multi-layered joke.

What happened to "judging people by the content of their character and not by their color"... I always found this idea that a character must be your same skin color to feel "represented" as ridiculous, I feel represented in Blade, Tchala, Superman, Batman, Thor, Spiderman....not because of their skin color or their ethnicity, but because they are heroes, because they are people with a certain moral character that represents me, not because of their skin tone .😂
@slammermchammer2 ай бұрын
It's really easy to say for us (im assuming your white too here in this) to say this because we don't need representation due to all of American media for most of American history only being white people. We see ourselves in everything so much its weird when its NOT a white guy for people, its a very different experience for other races where until the last generation or so they also only got to see white people and MAYBE less then favorable views of their own race when they do rarely see it in media (think like racial stereotypes you see very often like, the mexican gangster Sassy black friend, so on) So people just like seeing someone else who is just a regular non stereotypical character in media. Basically imagine if like, every white dude we ever saw in media 99 percent of the time was a dum hick redneck guy. That was nearly every single one of them You would appreciate the times where the white guy is just a regular dude or hero and not a constant racial caricature. No hate btw at all for you brother this is just my reasonings is all
