I know I said there would be no upload this week, but I couldnt resist filming this mini review of the new purchase I have made called the Wild Earth Awning - It will fit on most camper vans with an awning rail so not limited to a VW

I bought one of these a couple of months ago, dead easy to fit and don't take up much room in the van,agree about the poles,bit flimsy and long,gonna look for some replacements. Another great video, keep em coming 👏

Great bit of kit I have the same one easy to put up and pack away. I've recently purchased the 3 adjustable poles from the wildearth website much thicker and stronger just to reinforce it 👍

I’ve got an Isabella Shadow canopy which has very sturdy adjustable carbon fibre legs so you can angle the canopy for the rain to run off. The material of the canopy is a durable canvas which doesn’t let the sun rays through. Highly recommended

I bought exactly the same one as this, same colour as well. It has stood up well in windy conditions. Try putting two legs in the middle bit and one at the front and then it gives you a bit of a run off for water.

I have one of these, the legs do well in the wind. Reduce the outside legs by one piece to create an arch for water run off.

Looks a decent awning. Got my van now. It came with a roll out awning. The poles are probably sturdier than those but it suffers from having a gap between the awning and the van so I expect rainwater goes between and drips over the door. One to be aware of is, if the awning slopes away from the van, the front van door might not open as the awning gets in the way so be sure to grab anything from the front and swivel the seats beforehand if you're sloping it away from the van.

I bought a canopy of the same brand, however I bought the deluxe version that came with sturdy height adjustable poles. It’s worth the extra tenner or so. Go outdoors actually sell very similar poles as the ones supplied. I believe wild earth sell extra adjustable poles.

I have fitted an awning rail under my pop top like yours (brilliant idea) and bought the same product only i paid extra for adjustable poles which are a lot sturdier as I think someone has already mentioned.

If you found the poles to be a bit wobbly, Ultramatrix in the UK make very sturdy steel adjustable poles which don't wobble and you can adjust from 6 to 8 feet .

I bought one recently, it has telescopic poles so you can lower the two ends to make an apex type shape, I also purchased spare telescopic poles with a view to put one in the middle as my van is a bit lower and hubby being 6’2’’ was hitting his head on it - going to stick a tennis ball on the end of the pole so it doesn’t damage the material. Great awning, love it.

Change them poles for the adjustable telescopic type ! (£25 a pair nationwide) Turn down the front edge overnight or in a shower to let the water run off! It is a nice colour and looks reasonably good quality! Cheers dx

Bought the debus canopy off eBay well worth the money a lot more steadier poles and definitely more quality material in my opinion.

We have one, but it’s the deluxe version and has telescopic legs which are mega sturdy……great piece of kit!

Nice looking setup. You could buy two adjustable poles they are a lot stronger plus you could have it lower at the front.

Great videos! Agree, this wild earth canopy has flimsy bendy poles and pegs. Also too many guy lines for my liking to try and keep it steady in a breeze, wife and kids constantly tripping over them. Have looked around and can see much better quality sun canopies for vw's on the market, wish I'd done a bit more research!!

Looks pretty good, it will be for vans of all sizes so I think remove a pole section so rain does not run into van, and if poss have at a slight angle when it rains or you may have battle of the bulge 🤣

Hiya mate, its screwed on with self tappers and lots of sealant in the holes... The rail doesn't really have a brand or make, its just roof rails from ebay! :) hope this helps matey

It’s pricey but the ARB awning is the best on the market mate. It’s prob the best bit of our van 😂. Campervan Culture make a T5/6 awning rail for it too now so it’s an easy fit. Ps look forward to seeing you this weekend!

@@pdorman9086 I believe the brackets fit into the standard rain gutters mate. You would have to double check tho. We have a t25 and the awning fits to our full length roof rack 👍
