Another adaptation domesticated Guinea Pigs learn is to tell time, in a sense. My piggies know exactly when it's 5:00 PM. That's the usual time I give them their Apple slices. At 5 "on the nose", they're staring at the fridge while wheeking like crazy.

My pigs wheek at 5:45 every day coz that's when I feed them before going to work. They also wheek if they hear the fridge door open in the kitchen, vegetables being cut on chopping board and if my bedroom door is opened 😆

My Guinea pig: Always demanding his salads. Pooping in random spots. Taking a bath underneath his water bottle. Turning his house upside down. And eating tons of hay. Lol my guinea pigs legit scream for their food everytime I go in their room (YES they are so spoilt that they have their own fricken ROOM) and then leave the room they 'Asume' Im going to get them food even if they I already fed them like my whole fridge,But I wouldn't change the way they act as it is adorable and I love them xx

My last Guinea pig loved to jump, it was hard to keep him in a normal 12 in Guinea pig enclosure as he could jump right over it. He could also get over the original 18 in fence I originally put around the outdoor play area I made for him in my garden and I replaced it with a 24 in fence which was his limit. He could also run surprisingly fast for such a little pig...

Hi, I had two guinea pigs salty and pepper, but salty passed away a month ago, do you have any tips for keeping pepper happy? Also, will she be ok by herself if I give her lots of attention? We kinda want to get another guinea pig as a last resort kinda thing, like if Pepper stops eating, but at the moment she is eating and drinking well. She does have a little bit of a runny nose and some crust around her eyes, which I’m a bit worried about, but she isn’t sneezing and my mum won’t take her to the vet :(. So, any advice?

My little dudes, I thought they just learned kissing behavior from me :/. I was like aww, I taught them to be sweet. Their imitating human behavior, & translating it to guinea pig world, kissing each other😍🤗. Then I thought maybe they're just smelling me on each other. Then I was like, maybe neither of the two actions. They're bugging each other now, but every once in a while, I dosee them "booping" each other's nose, w/ each other's nose. Which according to the i.net means a nice hi, affection. 🤷 I'd like to believe I'm part of the influence to mold such cute sweet behavior.

I live in Ecuador and I have a black guinea pig. I think that my "cuy" is more wild than a pet or has less "touched" genetics both for its appearance and for its behavior, which is not the same as what I am seeing, in general, on the internet. He is very affectionate, yes, but he has certain behaviors of fear / euphoria, different. Nor are they like the "typical guinea pig" who is afraid because the environment or treatment is not appropriate. In the same way we love her very much, Uriel Azabache is very loved

julia quarnaccio I think it’s a show of dominance. It’s fine for all pigs to do it sometimes, as long as there is no fighting! It’s just showing they’re the alpha :) and it’s called rumblestrutting too x
